Ranking every Justice League Member in power

The Justice League has A LOT of members. This is a blog ranking them in terms of power level. Note: This is a measurement of how well they would do on average. Someone lower could beat someone much higher if their powers specifically are a counter.  Sorry if I am a bit rusty on some of these characters.

This is only counting people who are or were full members of the Justice League Members (of Earth-1) instead of purely honorary members. You might notice some people being on here are rather strange but due to timeline altering and the many different branches, the JLA has had some rather strange people.

With each one, I'm not gonna go over all their powers, just the most important things and why they beat the person above them.

Unclassifiable: Multi-Man

Multi-Man's power is that whenever he dies he comes back to life with a random power. Obviously this is not predictable. That said none of the powers he's demonstrated that strong so he would most likely be somewhere relatively low.

151: The Mighty Bruce
An ex-criminal secretary the Mighty Bruce is basically just a normal human except slightly smarter and slightly more physically adept.

150: Mindwarp
Mindwarp has minor telepathy and the power to astral project. Other that he's a normal person. At a range he could theoretically project his soul to project and punch the Mighty Bruce a bunch. Also while he's not particularly strong, his violent personality might give him an edge in melee.

149: Big Sir
Big Sir has peak human strength and durability as well as an electric flail. That said he's really dumb. He'd likely beat up Mindwarp.

148: Oracle
Oracle is wheelchair bound. That said she has beaten up thugs using her wheelchair, can use her wheelchair as a taser and has a genius intellect. Probably tricks Big Sir somehow.

147: Blue Jay
Can fly, shrink down to a few inches and has super sight. Could probably outmanuever Oracle, and knock her down some high place.

146: Clock King
Athletic Human with a high intellect, a sword and various clock themed gadgets. Could use his action weapons to beat Blue Jay.

145: Godiva
Has Prehensile Hair, Wall Level Strength/Durability and Flight. Could take hits from Clock King while he can't do the inverse.

144: Clue Master
Has as standard equipment various pellets including smoke, incendiary, explosive etc. Also has high intellect. Should be able to beat Godiva using his pellets.

143: Naif Al-Shiekh
Athletic Human with Gun. Should be able to shoot Clue Master before he gets into range.

142: Steve Trevors
Peak Huma with Gun. Military Training should give him the edge over Naif

141: Tasmanian Devil
Werebeast whose claws can cut steel. At close or mid range should be able to kill Steve before gunfire does him in.

140: Black Condor
Not quite as strong as Tasmanian Devil but Flight, Regen and Better Senses should give him the edge in an open area.

139: Maya
Her Elemental Blasts or Mystic arrow shots should be able to knock Black Condor out of the sky.

138: Equinox
Her Powers vary depending on season. That said generally having elemental attacks equal to Maya's while also having flight giving her just a bit more mobility would secure her the win.

137: Menagerie
Has Flight as well as versatile shapeshifting and acidic blood, the former giving her an advantage over Equinox at mid range and the later at close range though no ranged attacks gives Equinox advantage at long range.

136: Bulleteer
Her metal skin protects from most of Menagerie's attacks and her super strength and flight would let her crush Menagerie pretty fast.

135: Super Chief
Bulleteer's metal skin explicitly doesn't protect her internal organs and with the "strength of 1,000 bears" one grapple from the Super-Chief will break all the bones in her body.

134: Aztek
Gonna be honest, Aztek's powerset seems a bit hard to pin down the level of. That said he's got the memories of all the Azteks giving him lots of experience and all the things his suit can do should be able to give him the win over Super-Chief.

133: Agent Liberty
His forcefield and jetpack combo should protect him from Aztek and his blades should be able to hurt Aztek's exposed skin.

132: General Glory
IE the parody of Captain America. Tank Level Strength/Durability, shuriken that come back, though he tends to ramble and make long speeches about America. His raw power should be enough to overcome Agent Liberty.

131: Scarlet Skier
Moving to another Marvel Parody, this is the parody of Silver Surfer. Technically MFTL but utterly incompetent, can at least survive on a variety of hostile alien worlds with powerful atmospheres meaning he should be at least stronger then General Glory.

130: G'nort
Scarlet Skier's nemesis, the dog Green Lantern. G'nort is as competent and about as strong as his nemesis. He has maybe a little bit more versatility even if he can remember to use it.

129: Atomica
Size Manipulator. Doesn't have many showings but can see her tricking G'nort given her mastery of deception and possibly going inside his brain and expanding.

128: Frankenstein
He's at least building level powerhouse but seems dumb at first. I can clearly see Atomica arrogantly trying to shrink down and enter his brain only for him to grab her with his supersonic reflexes and crushing her.

127: Doctor Mist
His ability to absorb magic is potent but against non magic users it's useless. That said his illusions and enchantments should allow to him beat Frankenstein assuming they don't start at melee range.

126: Tomorrow Woman
Her Psychic Powers should function pretty similar to Doctor Mist's illusions. That said she can disrupt his mind with a thought while he needs to make hand motions to mess with her mind. Also I think her psychic powers gives her a better chance of resisting his mental attack then the inverse.

125: Black Orchid
Unless they start at particularly long range, Black Orchid's subsonic speed and energy chains should be able to let her blitz Tomorrow Woman and her raw physical strength should be enough to pop her.

124: Huntress
Huntress is more of a casual bullet timer then Black Orchid. Her Marksmanship skills give her a clear and obvious advantage at long range and gives her a competive fight at mid-range against the energy chains. Even at close range, Huntress' martial arts skills means she at least has a chance against Black Orchid's raw might. Being able to fight at more ranges and being faster gives Huntress the win.

123: Elongated Man
While not as fast as Huntress, her arrows would be a crazily inefficient weapon against him while it would just take one elastic fist to the face to knock her out.

122: Sister Superior
She has really really powerful stealth abilities and powerful blaster weapons. She could likely bombard the poor Elongated Man, keeping moving so as to keep her position concealed.

121: Crimson Fox
Along with her Foxlike stats, she has claws that can cut through steel and can release pheremones that arouse men and scare women. She could use her pheremones to make Sister Superior sloppy with fear and then get in a quick claw strike.

120: Vixen
Vixen has WAY more versatility then Crimson Fox able to copy the spirits of the whole animal kingdom including mythic animals. Her mental resistance should be strong enough to resist the pheremones and her dragon form should be strong enough to overcome the steel slicing claws.

119: The Atom (Ryan Choi)
Super-Genius Intellect plus size manipulation powers with maintained momentum gives Ryan a nasty arsenal. Against Vixen he could become too small for her to see even with her enhanced eyesight forms and knock her with a succession of momentum focused punches like bullets.

118: The Atom (Ray Palmer)
Ray has the same powerset as Ryan (plus immunity to disease) but he also has way more experience.

117: Captain Cold
CC's freeze gun has gotten down to "absolute zero" meaning it can affect the movement of atomic sized objects and should be able to even freeze Ray Palmer.

116: Rocket Red
Rocket uses his jetpack and missile fire to bombard CC. Even if CC can freeze the missiles in flight Rocket's technopathy should let him control CC's freeze machinery, basically taking out his weapon.

115: Stargirl
Energy absorption and her speed should let her withstand Rocket's missiles and her energy blasts would probably take Rocket Red out pretty quickly. She has comparable speed to him as well.

114: Starman
Starman is similar to Stargirl but can launch multiple energy blasts as well and has a sonic attack giving him a better attack roster and the edge.

113: Gypsy
Her Pre-Cog and Teleportation should keep her out of the way of most elemental attacks and her illusions should be able to mess with Starman's mind.

112: Silver Sorceress
While it would be a good fight, SS can simply do everything Gypsy can and more, as she has telepathy, telekinesis and healing.

111: Ambush Bug
His hypersonic speed and teleportation plus his insanity would make him very difficult for Silver Sorceress to hit and ramming at hypersonic speed should take her out.

110: Vibe
While his anti-speedforce powers are incredibly specific Vibe does have a few powers more useful here. His magical sensing and his attunement to the multiverse should let him sense where Ambush Bug is teleporting in and his building AOE shockwaves should be able to knock him out. It helps Vibe is durable enough that a normal punch from Ambush Bug wouldn't affect him.

109: Manitou Dawn
Physically equal to Vibe and while she can't take his shockwaves, her necromancy should be able to give her forces to distract him and he has no defense against her transmutation technique. She could also draw him onto the spiritual plane to defeat him.

108: Manitou Raven
Same powerset as Manitou Dawn but more experienced then her giving him a more then 50% chance of winning.

107: Guardian
While Guardian has no defense against transmutation, he is fast and strong enough to blitz him before he does his technique though it would be dangerous for him especially if Manitou tries other tactics first.

106: Catwoman
Guardian and Catwoman are roughly equal in stats and skill. While Catwoman's claws and Guardian's shield are about equal in range, Catwoman's whip has a bit more range and she is also much stealthier.

105: Steel (Hank Heywood)
Steel's nearly indestructible armor would easily protect him and tank any of Catwoman's strikes, leaving only a very small part of his face vulnerable. Meanwhile a few strikes from Steel would knock Catwoman uncouncious. Also his enhanced hearing would nullify Catwoman's stealth.

104: Element Woman
Element Woman transmutes to poisonous gases/chemicals and Steel has no way of hitting her and she gets him via his need to breath.

103: Metamorpho
Metamorpho has the exact same powers as Element Woman but he has been around longer and has more experience.

102: Moon Maiden
Can alter moon's gravitational force on the Earth to cause tsunamis and earthquakes and can channel this energy into energy blasts. Can fly and can cause insanity. She causes Metamorpho to go insane before he can get to her and then throws a tsunami force at him.

101: Congorilla
He can resist Moon Maiden's Lunacy power and can with a single huge gorilla bound get right up to her and crush her. Her power is strong enough to kill him but he is too physically overbearing for Moon Maiden.

100: Booster Gold
His wrist blasters should be able to at least scratch Congorilla while Congorilla is NEVER getting through Booster's force field. Also Booster could just bring Congorilla into space or back in time using his legion flight ring.

99: Shade, the Changing Man
Initially a stalemate with Booster. Shade's attacks can't get through Booster's forcefield, and Booster's wrist blaster can't get through the automatic attack deflection of Shade's vest. That said Shade the Changing Man can reality warp and would probably eventually be able to get Booster.

98: Coldcast
He has the power of the full electromagnetic spectrum. He can create an energy blast powerful enough that it seriously injures Post-Crisis Superman something not even Shade's vest has shown the ability to deflect.

97: August General in Iron
Faster reactions then Coldcast, and his hypersonic plasma bolts should be able to take down Coldcast before he gets blasted as Coldcast clearly couldn't react to mach 7.

96: Bat-Man (Wang Baixi)
He's about as physically strong as Bane, which would be less then August General but he also has gadgets like sleeping gas which should do the trick.

95: Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders)
Bat-Man lacks the range and accuracy to beat Kendra whereas a swooping Thangarian Mace Strike should take him out.

94: Hawkgirl (Shiera Hall)
Same powers as Kendra, but is more of a warrior.

93: Red Arrow
Expert Marksman with trick arrows should be able to pin Hawkgirl's wings before she gets in close, though in fairness if she does get in close even Roy's martial arts won't be able to stop Shiera.

92: Green Arrow (Connor Hawke)
Consensus seems to be that while Roy is a better marksman then Connor, at most ranges Connor's vastly superior martial arts skills and lightly enhanced strength and speed would give Connor the victory.

91: Batwing
While not the martial arts champion that Bruce or Connor are, Batwing's superior tech and supergenius intellect should give him the advantage against Connor.

90: Faith
Comparable speed to Batwing, her telepathy and teleportatoin should give her an advantage in mobility keeping her safe, and her building level casual telekinetic strength would be highly damaging to him, and her serious exerting telekinetic strength capable of destroying an alien warship fleet would one shot him.

89: Plastic Man
His fists are strong enough to damage Faith at long elastic ranges but more importantly Faith has got nothing that can do any serious damage to him so he most likely just outlasts her.

88: Green Arrow (Oliver Queen)
Ollie's got the speed and skills to avoid strikes from Plastic Man and one of his trick arrows like a freeze arrow should be able to stop him.

87: Hawkman
Ahhhhhh the Green Arrow vs Hawkman rivalry. Politics aside I do think Hawkman would win in a close fight. His Nth Metal gun has done damage to cosmic superheroes and Green Arrow would have to work hard to avoid being hit by it but one step into Hawkman's dive territory and he can do a dive strike on him while conversely while Green Arrow is incredibly accurate Hawman is great at avoiding land to air fire.

86: Nightwing
Has canonically defeated Hawkman and Hawkgirl at once.

85: Black Canary
Comparably skilled to Nighwing, doesn't have his level of tech but her canary cry would be a nigh-undodgeable complete one-shot. Black Canary has got a lot better chance to win.

84: Batgirl (Cassandra Cain)
If they start at long range Cassie would have no way of stopping the Canary Cry. That said at closer ranges Cassie is more skilled and way more deadly. She would also have complete knowledge of when the Canary Cry is coming and be able to attack strategically then.

83: Green Flame
Being a physical bad*ss doesn't help if your opponent is just made of fire. Cassie gets burned by someone as strong as her but a living flame.

82: Ice Maiden (Sigred Nansen)
Ice Manipulation strong enough to create a blizzard. While her ice and Green Flame's fire are generally even, Sigred has way more ability to put Green Flame out then the inverse and otherwise has her exact powerwise but ice.

81: Ice (Tora Olafsdotter)
Same powerset as Ice Maiden, but can control it more and has better hand to hand ability for what that's worth.

80: Katana
A physical powerhouse for a street level, has mhs reflexes and most importantly her famous soul-stealing Katana. One even tiny cut from that on anyone below and they lose their soul. Katana can probably resist being frozen with her toughness and durability lose enough to soul steal Tora.

79: Amazing Man
Can Absorb Energies/Matter/Powers and make it part of him. Would be a very tense fight against Katana since whoever gets first strike would likely win. That said while Katana has reflexes, skill and range against him, he has the versatility of anything that's in the area, being able to incorporate it. I tihnk in a majority of environments he would have enough options to pull a win against her.

78: Andrew Bennett
Vampire powers. While his transmutation to stone trick probably wouldn't work on Amazing-Man, the ability to telekinetically blow up his head while he's at range and keeping behind a forcefield powerful enough to take nucleur bombardment should give him the win.

77: Deadman
Deadman can regenerate from a puddle, Andrew's got nothing to hurt him. Deadman can also duplicate himself up to 10 of himself and has such good possession he once possesed Swamp Thing and all of the Green. He would take over Andrew eventually.

76: Bloodwynd
Controls death energy and the dead. Could probably control Deadman or summon something like him.

75: The Wonder Twins
Zan can turn into any form of water including a giant storm or an ice giant. Janya can turn into animal including mythological or alien ones. Janya can probably turn into one of the mythical holy animals that repel the undead like the unicorn.

74: Major Disaster
Enhanced Physical Stats, flight and major probability manipulation (caused multiple meteors to fall and hit Superman). Wonder Twins go to activate their powers and they trip over each other giving him the chance to kill.

73: Timothy Hunter
Powerful magic-user, going to be the strongest magic-user of the future. Has accidentally created universes before. Don't have good control of his magic. Should be able to dispel Major Disaster's probability manipulation while his magic barrier keeps him safe.

72: Madame Xanadu
Magic-User. Made a deal with Death for immortality. Froze time across the whole multiverse with the help of Nightmare Nurse and Zatanna. Not got a lot of raw power but should be able to dispel the clumsy spells of Tim Hunter and blast him with her magic energy beams.

71: Nightmare Nurse
Demonic Magic-User. Froze time across the whole multiverse with the help of Madame Xanadu and Zatanna. Mere thoughts of her are living parts of her and will attack you independently. Would probably possess Madame Xanadu.

70: Batman
Has Powerful Anti-Magic as well as anti-demon tech. Really has tech and martial arts skills for almost anyone below him on this list as well as the physical powerhouse of the street levels. Also has such powerful willpower could probably resist thinking of Nightmare Nurse after beating her and then erase his own memory (as he does know memory erasure) so he never thinks of her again.

69: John Constantine
Bruce vs John would be be awesome. Bruce has physical advantage but his counter-magic can't stop John's strongest magic. So long as Batman doesn't just blitz him to death, John should be able to use things like summoning and magical reality-warping to beat Batman.

68: Mera
At MHS Speed, Mera uses her water manipulation to pick up an entire ocean and throw it at John before he can react. Constantine with a few seconds would be able to stop her but Mera is fast and powerful enough to beat him regardless of range.

67: Killer Frost
Killer Frost has the reflexes to react to Mera's water attacks and freeze the part of the water coming at her to ice. At closer range while Mera is physically much stronger she has no way to stop Killer Frost from freezing her before they get into melee.

66: Black Lightning
Black Lightning can manipulate the electromagnetic field of an entire planet as well as turn into lightning and can manipulate mystical black lightning. Freezing would be difficult against pure lightning especially when Killer Frost is being bombarded by the electromagnetic field of an entire planet. Black Lightning likely overwhelms Frost.

65: Ray
Ray can control light, react at lightspeed, turn into light and cause radiation like light. While Black Lightning is a superior electromagnetic manipulator, Ray blitzes him by turning into a light beam and radiation bursting him before he can start going.

64: Mystek
Mystek usually has the advantage over Ray. With lightspeed reflexes and energy-matter manipulator letting him manipulate light, Mystek has a counter to all of Ray's tactics.

63: Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi)
Doctor Light has better energy manipulation then Mystek, can teleport, is physically stronger, is a supergenius and has a sixth sense as well as actually moving at lightspeed and not just reacting at lightspeed. All this should let her overcome Mystek's matter manipulation which is his only advantage.

62: Doctor Light (Arthur Light)
Yes. HE was a JL member technically. Timeline stuff. Anyway he has canonically beat Kimiyo.

61: Aquaman
While Doctor Light could beat Aquaman he's arrogant and Aquaman could kill him pretty quickly if given the chance. Aquaman's energy negation will stop Doctor's light light attacks unless he's at close enough range Aquaman can't properly defend, at which point Aquaman could possibly draw him into the psychic sea and defeat him there. Also Aquaman can summon the creatures of the deep to simply overwhelm Doctor Light.

60: Mister Miracle
Mister Miracle is one of the New Gods. While he's not particullarly strong for one, he still is a planetary force at ftl speeds and would likely overwhelm Aquaman, though if Aquaman gets a chance he could hax Mister Miracle.

59: Big Barda
Big Barda is a more warlike and powerful New God compared to Mister Miracle.

58: Blue Beetle
Blue Beetle would struggle to keep up with Big Barda's power and can only barely do so. That said the Scarab is much more versatile then Big Barda's powerset and the longer the battle goes on, the more of a chance Blue Beetle has to snatch the battle with one of his haxes.

57: OMAC
OMAC was able to go toe-to-toe with the New 52 Superman level entities. While The Blue Beetle could hax him, OMAC probably just overpowers poor Jaime.

56: Cyborg
Even if OMAC wasn't a machine that Cyborg could control with his technopathy, Cyborg can equal him in stats and has a more widespread and versatile powerset.

55: Wonder-Woman (Peng Delian)
While Cyborg is more Versatile then Peng, she is physically on par at least and her magic mind controlling lasso should be enough to incapacitate him before he can use most of his arsenal.

54: Super-Man (Kong Kenan)
Assuming I'm recalling correctly, Kong was slightly more powerful then Peng.

53: Steel (John Henry Irons)
Physically comparable to Kong Kenan but super-intellect and teleporter gives the edge.

52: Starfire
Physically comparable to Steel but her energy-draining would probably take out him out quickly and that's not even including her superior range and mobility (not including teleportation)

51: Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz)
She's a relatively new Green Lantern but she could still create a much wider variety of effects then Starfire, including a black hole to disrupt her. Starfire's best chance would be to try a rush strategy with energy draining.

50: Green Lantern (Simon Baz)
About comparable with Jessica in terms of power. That said Simon seems a bit more emotionally composed and probably would be able to use the Green Lantern Ring slightly more steadily.

49: Lightray
The New God speedster can move at ~quadrillions of times speed of light and has control of atoms, meaning even against people with far higher dura like the above he can speedblitz and atomically rip them apart.

48: Animal Man
Much Stronger then he looks ;) At quintillions of times the speed of light he can even blitz Lightray. He's stellar level meaning he could destroy Lightray physically not even including his 7th plane manipulation and his possession.

47: Anteus
As long as he's touching the Earth, he should be invulnerable to Animal Man's physical attacks. By scaling he should have the reflexes to tag Animal Man and even if not could alter his gravity to make him easier to hit. He's also a lot physically stronger and should be able to beat him solidly.

46: The Flash (Avery Ho)
Minor speedforce user, relatively inexperienced. Should still be able to phase Anteus off the ground at rapid speed and beat him.

45: The Flash (Jay Garrick)
Much more experienced speedforce user then Avery. Should be able to beat her.

44: Supergirl
Teenage Kryptonian. Should be tough enough to tank Jay's attacks and fast enough to tag him eventually. Note: Not the Angel Supergirl, she was never part of the League. She would be in the top 3 in strength.

43: Power Girl
Alternate Universe Supergirl. Consistently a bit stronger then Supergirl.

42: Donna Troy
Comparable to Supergirl and Powergirl but superior combat experience and has a few weapons like her amazon bracelets.

41: Nuklon
A Physical Powerhouse on par with the above. His phasing specialty should allow him to win more times then not.

40: Geo-Force
Comparable physically to the above. Slightly more versatile and has his own hax, can turn people to stone. Should work on Nuklon.

39: Mon-El
A Daxamite, a species similar to Kryptonin and recently a rookie green lantern. Has raw power and versatility on Geo-Force.

38: Maxima
Kryptonian Level Entity. Her Mental Powers and transmutation combined should be enough to overwhelm Mon-El.

37: Firehawk
Not quite as physically powerful as Maxima but her atomic control of matter-energy and her logia nature should surprise her enough for Firehawk to take her.

36: Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond)
Highly Versatile Herald Type Entity. Way more versatile then Firehawk and is above her stats-wise.

35: Firestorm (Jason Rusch)
Same powers as Ronnie but smarter fighter.

34: Despero
Despero is comparable to superior to Firestorm in stats, and way less versatile, but his potent psionics and his reality-warping should overcome their wider range of abilities.

33: Red Tornado
Implied to be faster then Jay Garrick and can possess people along with some other fairly useful abilities like a good regen factor, no brain to manipulate, being an air elemental, etc. Can possess Despero before he reality warps.

32: Blue Devil
Is a physical powerhouse on par with kryptonians and can send people directly to hell. Could do this to Red Tornado before he gets close enough to possess.

31: Captain Atom
A bit on the slower side but powerful enough to create his own universe, fight on the astral plane and can resist magic like being sent to Hell. Without that Captain Atom rips Blue Devil apart on the atomic scale.

30: Etrigan
Not as powerful as Captain Atom though his demon magic did provide 1/5th of universal energy. While Captain Atom can resist magic and thus top most of Etrigan's abilities, Etrigan can spam him with a big energy bursts until he's out at massive speeds.

29: Lobo
Physically as strong as people like Etrigan but also has a low-godly regen, every single drop of his blood will reappear as another one of him, can fight as a spirit, resist mental attacks. He's very dangerous. Etrigan is more versatile but Lobo isn't far behind and Etrigan trying to fight him will create more Lobo. Etrigan's best chance is to bfr him across time and dimensions but Lobo could simply pursue him from there.

28: Hourman
Physically powerful as the above, but has incredibly powerful time manipulation. Hourman freezes Lobo in time for eternity.

27: Jade
Inheritor of the starheart from Alan Scott, Jade vs Hourman is a quickdraw between Jade's highly potent magic and Hourman's technological time manipulation. That said not only does Jade seem faster but she has a long range to hit him from.

26: Green Lantern (Guy Gardner)
Has the Green Lantern Ring, strongest weapon in the universe that makes imagination reality. Guy is a more experienced lantern then Jade even if her powers are more potent and is more of a fighter.

25: Green Lantern (John Stewart)
Is a more composed, focused Green Lantern then Guy Gardner

24: Orion
A highly powerful new god, Orion has the Astro Force, a universal power source that battles the anti-life and could blast apart most green lantern constructs easily. While Orion is not as versatile as John Stewart he seems faster given his comparison to Superman and his raw power would be overwhelming.

23: Triumph
Triumph is likely physically very similar to Orion, however Triumph has a more versatile arsenal of control of gravity, density and the electromagnetic force.

22: Wonder Woman (Hippolyta)
While not as versatile or powerful as her daughter, Hippolyta was still a godlike powerhouse with a powerful arsenal and enough fighting skill to take Triumph as she did Hercules.

21: Olympian
Olympian has the power of the 50 Argonauts. Hippolyta vs Hercules was a close fight with Hercules having more raw power but Hippoylta winning via raw skill. Olympian has the power of Hercules and the 49 other Argonauts.

20: Jesse Quick
One of the best Speedforce Users. Could probably speedforce dump Olympian, or at least speed steel him (he doesn't seem that fast relatively).

19: Lex Luthor
With an arsenal of power tech, a Warsuit that can match Superman, Lex is very powerful but most dangerous is his intellect. His tech would counter Jesse's abilities and while he wouldn't be able to react to her at first, his super-genius intellect would figure out her moves in advance allowing him to intercept her.

18: Zauriel
With his Low Godly Regen and ability to cause matter to simply turn to dust at will his stats like a kryptonian and his cosmic senses would only be a bonus. While Lex could probably destroy Zauriel, Zauriel would simply regenerate and dust Lex.

17: Power Ring
Dark Universe Alternate to Hal Jordan, Power Ring uses a dark entity for his power source, Valthoom. While it provides plentiful power, Valthoom does damage his body and mind which keeps him "only" at 17.

16: Zatanna
With her magic versatility and high reflexes, Zatanna can survive Power Ring's dark imagination long enough to release Valthoom or turn it's power against him. Or otherwise just hax him out of existence.

15: Lantern Kyle Rayner

Kind of debatable if White Lantern would be allowed. Either way his subcouncious power was enough to create the universal threat Oblivion and Kyle Rayner's hidden power would be strong enough to force Zatanna on the defensive. Kyle's victory against Zatanna depends on him either using a white power ring or releasing his full power. His ring does at least give him the versatility to match hers without having to rely on Valthoom.

14: The Flash (Barry Allen)
While his raw power is a bit lacking for being here, his speed is so laughably high that he could likely blitz Kyle 100 ways before Kyle can bring his full councious power to arms.

13: The Flash (Walter West)
Alternate Wally West from a Dark Universe where he is more serious and trained harder putting him above even Barry.

12: Shazam
In the Post-Crisis Days it was noted the four most powerful forces on Earth were Shazam, Superman, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman. Shazam is truly a universal godly force though he's below the others due to lack of versatility in his powers. That said with his durability, resistances and the speed of mercury he could probably beat speedsters like Barry and Walter

11: Martian Manhunter
While J'onn is perhaps not quite as strong as Billy physically, his insane mental powers would likely give him the edge, not even including his powerful regen and other abilities.

10: The Flash (Wally West)
Recently Barry and Wally got into a fight by Zoom's manipulations and they were perfectly even. When they learned of Zoom's machinations, Barry gave Wally an impassioned speech that Wally has an ability to let go and become the speedforce beyond even what he could and that he needed too. Wally released and ran so fast he blitzed Zoom a speedster on par with Zoom. At that levels of speed it's likely Martian Manhunter, who's already a bit on the slower side for this high up, would not be able to percieve Wally West at all. While Wally would have to be worried of MMH's psionics, he should be able to send MMH into the speedforce.

9: Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)
As the God of War, Diana has some resistance to pretty much all of Wally's abilities, as well as the ability to summon an army of every soldier ever to fight alongside her. While she's nowhere near as fast as him, with the speed of mercury letting her access the speedforce and her infinitely expansive lasso she should be able to catch him eventually, or at least out-stamina him.

8: Superman
Superman and Wonder Woman is close, even in universe acknowledge as such. I wrote a blog on why I side with Superman in general. Wonder Woman has the advantage in mid range but Superman has the advantage at close and long range in my view. I think Superman wins more times then not.

7: Amethyst
The DC Magical Girl became a Lord of Order like Nabu and Kismet, who are way clearly above Superman. She is a living universe of magic able to exploit Superman's magic vulnerability. Also she's the strongest lord of order, the only one to survive their fight with the Spectre.

6: Obsidian
Obsidian might seem like a normal shadow street leveler but secretly he is the consciousness of the Shadowlands, the plane of darkness for all of DC, the place where all darkness manipulators get their powers from. As a multiversal power he's likely above even Amethyst who is a living universe of magic.

5: Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
The Legendary Green Lantern ;). Hal Jordan is the one I think is strongest of the original 7. He's affected the abstract plane suggesting he could affect Obsidian. His powers give him an almost unmatched combination of versatility and raw power.

4: Doctor Fate
Doctor Fate vs Hal Jordan actually sounds pretty even for the most part. Hal's green lantern powers and Fate's magic seem almost equally versatile and they are both in the universal+ range. That said if Fate goes Ultimate Fate he would have multiversal power which Hal would need his Parallax Form to compete with. Also Fate because of Nabu has far greater combat experience then Hal.

3: Pandora
No easy way to put this, Pandora is the freaking embodiment of all good in the multiverse. Not only that but the 7 deadly sins, her children, all have the power to destroy the multiverse with "a flutter of their eyelids". And Pandora is stronger then them! Fate is more versatile but with such a casual multiversal power Pandora would defeat even Ultimate Fate.

2: Swamp Thing
Swamp Thing can regenerate on a meta level, regenerating from cosmic retcon. Also in the Green he's a multiversal reality-warper. Pandora can't do anything permanent to him and Swamp Thing would eventually warp Pandora out of existence.

1: Phantom Stranger
Phantom Stranger vs Swamp Thing is technically an eternal stalemate. Neither can permanently put each other down. You could put either here, that said Phantom Stranger seems to be on a higher level of power in DC to me, equaling the Spectre who is the DC's Shiva and put up a fight against Michael Demiurgos. Phantom Stranger has stated that he's omniscient and he exists outside reality and it's rules. He can manipulate all the planes of reality.

What is the definition of a Magical Girl Series

Just a short blog giving a definition of what qualifies as a Magical Girl Series. For a genre that's lasted many decades now, you would think there would be a clear definition however there isn't so much a strict definition as a less set of tropes people use to define it. Here I attempt to define it along the two axis that make up the title. The "Magical" Axis and the "Girl" Axis.

Magical Axis:
Magical-Purist: The protagonist uses what is explicitly magic
Magical-Moderate: The protagonist uses non-magic that happens to be magic-like.
Magical-Radical: The protagonist can use any kind of power, even if it's not magical at all (or not even a power)

Girl Axis:
Girl-Purist: The cast should be made up of entirely or mostly females, and the girl protagonist should use magic that is clearly feminine incorporating feminine iconography within things like outfits, transformation scenes, spells and so forth
Girl-Moderate: The chat should contain a large amount of females, there must be a female protagonist (including a male who transforms into a female), and the protagonist's abilities should have some connection with female if only that the magic users are all women.
Girl-Radical: The protagonist does not even have to be female, just some vague connection to feminine somewhere.

This gives up the 9 combinations of  "alignments" if you will that show the various definitions people have for what a magical girl series is.

Magical Purist, Girl Purist:
A Magical Girl series has to involve mostly females using magic that is explicitly girly in nature.
Example: "Sailor Moon is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Purist, Girl Moderate:
A Magical Girl Series should involve a team of girls as the center who use what is explicitly magic
Example: "Magic Knight Rayearth is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Purist, Girl Radical:
Series does not have to involve girls, but the users have to use magic.
Example: "Cute High Earth Defense Club Love! is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Moderate, Girl Purist:
Series has to involve girls who use something similar to magic that is highly feminine.
Example: "Tokyo Mew Mew is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Moderate, Girl Moderate:
Series has to center on a female protagonist (or a male who transforms into a female) with a team significantly made of females who use magic that has a connection to the feminine
Example: "Kampfer is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Moderate, Girl Radical:
Protagonist can be either gender but most use something magic-like.
Example: "Devilman Crybaby is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Radical, Girl Purist:
Must center around a team of all or almost all females who can use any kind of abilities.
Example: "Powerpuff Girls is a Magical Girl Series."

Magical Radical, Girl Moderate:
Protagonist has to be female who uses some kind of powers.
Example: "The CW Supergirl show is a Magical Girl show."

Magical Radical, Girl Radical:
Protagonist has some abilities and has some connection to the feminine or a feminine spirit.
Example: "Captain Planet is a Magical Girl Show"
Note, that is the only series on here I haven't seen people claim is a Magical Girl show yet.

Personally my definition is Magical Moderate, Girl Moderate though I suppose some might say I deliberately made that middle to show my position as reasonable. But that's how I see it.

How strong are Kami Madoka and Akuma Homura (an analysis)

PMMM can be rather controversial as to how powerful the verse is (among other things). Though I often argue against what appears to me to be Madoka wank I'm actually a really big fan of the series. Every series loses some of it's impact over time, as the newness of it wears off, but PMMM really doesn't lose a lot of impact to me. It still seems almost as complex and intriguing watching it now as when it came out. I wanted to give an analysis of how strong Madoka in her kami form and Homura in her akuma form. I have reviewed episode 12 of the anime and movie 3 (rebellion) and gotten down every quote that seems like it could be important. None of these are my translation, as I did not wish to bias it unconsciously by translating as I would think. Times are approximate obviously.

Episode 12:
1:15 Kyubey: “So now you’re the central point of karmic destiny for numerous different timelines, how matter how enormous your wish it, it’s likely to come true.”
1:40: Madoka: “I wish to erase all witches before they are born. All the witches in all the universes, both past and future. With my own hands!”
1:55 Kyubey “If a prayer like that is granted, it could unravel the fabric of time itself!”
2:00 Kyubey “It would go against the very force of karmic destiny!”
2:04 Kyubey “Do you truly intend to become a God?”
2:10 Madoka “All those who fought against witches, who believed in hope as magical girls, I don’t want to see them cry. I want them to be smiling to the very end! If any rule or law stands in the way of that, I will destroy it. I will rewrite it. That is my prayer. That is my wish.”
~3:00 Madoka is seen speaking with Mami before she gathers peoples’ souls alluding to her nature outside of time
3:05 Mami “It means that for all the past and future, and throughout all of time, you will have to continue fighting forever.”
3:15 Mami “In doing so you will lose all traces of your individual self”
3:22 Mami “For all of time you would continue as merely a concept, a principle that destroys witches”
4:10 Mami: You aren’t just granting us hope, you’re becoming hope itself. The hope of us all.
4:55 Madoka shoots what appears to be hundreds of arrows, each to a specific location
5:03-5:40 A Magical Girl is seen almost giving into despair when one of Madoka’s arrows appears before her and turns into Madoka who takes the despair away, freeing the girl’s soul
5:40-6:15 Madoka repeats the above, saving magical girls in different places and times from despair
6:15 Madoka: “I won’t let your prayers end in despair. None of you have to hate anyone or curse anyone. I will bear all of that cursed destiny for you. So please to the very end keep believing in yourself!”
6:43 We see a cascade of thousands of Madoka’s arrows
6:45 Walpurgisnacht vanishes seemingly without being hit by Madoka’s arrows
7:12 Madoka: “I’ll go back, before you turned into this, and take the burden of yours.”
7:47 Kyubey: “The Universe is in the process of reordering itself based on Madoka’s new law.”
8:02 Kyubey: “Let us witness what kind of end the existence called Madoka Kaname will meet”
8:15 Kyubey “Can you see all the cursed destinies she took upon herself, as the price for making such an enormous wish.”
8:23 Kyubey “She was able to bring forth enough hope to create an entire universe, why is to say it will also become enough despair to end the entire universe as well.”
8:50 Krielmhild Gretchen Emerges as the despair of Madoka’s wish, a witch who contains the Earth in her barrier and so large that it’s size is only equal to one of her eyes
9:10 Madoka: “My wish was to erase all witches. If that prayer really comes true, then even I should have no reason to despair ever!”
9:34 Madoka fires her arrows at Krielmhild Gretchen at FTL speeds which completely obliterates her
9:45 The light of Madoka’s arrow fire outshines galaxies
9:50 Kyubey: “Madoka, with this your life has ceased to have a beginning or end. No trace of your life on Earth, nor a single memory of you will remain anywhere.
10:05 Kyubey: “Your existence has shifted onto a higher plane, and all that will be left of you here is a concept.”
10:10 Kyubey: “No one will ever be aware of your presence again, and you will never be able to interact with anyone.”
10:16: Kyubey “You have ceased to exist in this universe.”
10:40 Homura is in sorrow at Madoka’s fate but Madoka comforts Homura
10:42 Madoka: “As I am now, I can see everything that ever has or will happen. Both the universes that could have been and the universes that might one day be. All of them.”
10:55 Madoka displays knowledge of all the things Homura has done for Madoka across timelines.
11:59 Madoka: “I’m not alone. All of you will always be with me. Because I will be everywhere at every moment from now on.
12:33 Madoka “So even when you go back to your world, maybe you’ll still be able to remember me.”
13:40 Madoka is with Sayaka’s soul
14:07 Madoka: “No I’m the one who should apologize. In order to save you, I had to leave things as if nothing has happened. As a result this future would have to disappear as well.
16:07 Mami: “Led away by the indelible law of cycles.”
16:39 Mami: “Before the hope we wished for summons an equivalent amount of misfortune, we have no choice but to vanish from this world.”
19:23 Kyubey: “If the laws of the universe really changed the way you said they did, there’s no method we could use to verify that.”
20:12 Kyubey: “But in that witch world you were describing, there weren’t any wraiths like the ones we fight here right?”
20:38 Homura: “Just because witches are no longer born into this world, it doesn’t mean the curses of mankind have ceased to exist. The distortions of this world have just changed form.”

Rebellion:
39:53 Homura reveals that the whole movie until that point had taken place inside a Witch’s labyrinth IE witches as a concept still exist
55:40 Homura and Sayaka begin a long conversation about witches showing that they still exist in concept
56:05 Sayaka: “What the witch controlling this labyrinth wants is to maintain the status quo in here”
59:18 Homura: “…witches no longer exist in this universe. The soul of every magical girl is taken away before it becomes a witch.”
58:25 Homura: “That was the new order she created when she remade the world…”
59:35 The visage of the witch Octavia appears showing her existence
1:11:57 Homura says that she is a witch
1:13:45 Kyubey: “The mysterious power that cleanses magical girls and makes them disappear. We wanted to know what would happen to a soul gem that was cut off from the phenomena that you magical girls call the ‘law of cycles’.”
1:14:20 There’s no specific time, but it’s been a running plot point that Homura is turning into a witch and only hasn’t yet because the Incubators have locked her in an isolation field. The importance of this is that magical girls turning into witches would still happen
1:15:31 Kyubey: “If the existence known as the ‘law of cycles’ still tried to reach Homura Akemi the only way for that existence to enter would be to rematerialize in the form of a victim that you’d invite in.”
1:16:16 Kyubey: “Even though she (Madoka) doesn’t exist within the karmic cycles of our universe, she was able to slip into your world without causing the least disturbance.”
1:16:50 Kyubey: “It seems the memory rewriting conducted by you, the master of the labyrinth, affected her as well”
1:21:00 Kyubey tries to threaten Homura that if she dies inside the isolation field she’ll become a witch since the law of cycles won’t reach her showing yet again that the concepts of witch still exists and magical girls would still turn into them if Madoka did not save them
1:22:40 Homura’s witch form appears
1:26:07 Sayaka’s summons her own witch form to help
1:27:07 Sayaka: “Someone had to hold her (Madoka) powers and memories, until it was time to be give them back to her!”
1:34:30 Madoka begins coming to take Homura away
1:35:00 Kami Madoka flies down to the prone body of Homura
1:35:45 Homura, pre-Akuma Homura, grabs Kami Madoka surprising her
1:36:45 Homura rips Kami Madoka into mortal and divine parts
1:37:00 Homura’s magic begins extended outwards. Notably, the other Magical Girls there actually react to it which….I don’t think anyone has gone so far yet as to claim everyone there is MFTL
1:37:00-1:37:30 Homura’s labyrinth encompasses the universe
1:38:10 Kyubey: “The world is being rewritten. Does this mean a new principle has been born into this universe?”
1:42:20 Akuma Homura enslaves the Incubators
1:42:10 Sayaka: “You’ve broken off a part of the law of cycles, the power of salvation that was the hope of all the magical girls.”
1:42:15 Homura: “All I took was a tiny piece of it.”
1:42:55 Homura suggests she might destroy the universe
1:47:55 Madoka begins to re-ascend to Godhood until stopped by Homura

As always, feats (IE what empirically happens) takes precedence over character statements, though we should try and recognize all information and if at all possible reconcile them.

So let's try and do our best to reconcile the information we are given and come to figure out how strong Madoka and Homura are.

Let's start with the big point, the big debunking. Madoka did not erase the concept of witches. It can be understandable to be confused initially as Madoka declares that if any rule stands in her way she's destroy it or rewrite it and Madoka herself is refereed to as a rule or principle that destroys witches before they are born. Yet if we go into the mechanics of what happens we see that Madoka goes to a magical girl and takes them away before they become a witch, "erasing" a witch before it's born as is her wish. We know this is absolutely the case because the movie Rebellion is absolutely dependent on the existence of witches. They appear throughout the film, Homura was turning into one in the absence of Madoka coming down to her, thy are summoned in the final battle. All evidence shows that Madoka did not reality warp the concept of witches from the multiverse. Here there is no information to be reconciled as all information points to a singular conclusion.

Kyubey at one point does say the universe is reordering itself based on Madoka's new law. Since Madoka herself is that law, ie the law of cycles, this is referring to Madoka becoming her abstract concept it would seem. Of course Kyubey and the Incubators in general do not have capacity to understand the abstract plane of existence as Kyubey says to Homura in episode 12 that what she is saying is unverifiable to them and then in movie 3 they know very little information about Madoka until they conduct their experiment.

The three big characters in terms of power are Kriemhild Gretchen, Akuma Homura and Kami Madoka. Of the three we know Kami Madoka is BY FAR the strongest. Akuma Homura mentions that she only took a small bit of Kami Madoka's power and Kami Madoka easily destroys Kriemhild Gretchen. There is no direct comparison between Akuma Homura and Krielmhild Gretchen, though Gretchen's labyrinth "only" encompassed the Earth while Homura's encompassed the universe which seems like Homura would be much stronger then Gretchen giving us a sense that Kami Madoka>>>Akuma Homura>>>Krielmhild Gretchen. This would be mean it is wrong to scale any of these three to another that is higher then their own.

So what is Kami Madoka? Well to start with the obvious, she is a concept. There is no contradicting evidence here. What is a concept? Well a concept, otherwise referred to as a principle of reality or a law of reality, both with PMMM, is a part of reality (IE something that is real) that is more fundamental then physical reality (matter, energy space and time). As such I often sort of dislike attaching terms suggesting a physical level of attack and durability to Kami Madoka like "universal" versus "multiversal" especially durability. Kami Madoka as a concept wouldn't have a physical durability because she's not made of matter or energy. Theoretically one could blow up the multiverse and do nothing to her, but I don't consider that multiversal durability for the same reason not being able to destroy an intangible ghost with a planetbuster does not make that ghost planet level in durability. I don't think Kami Madoka HAS a durability "level" on the physical plane because from what I understand Madoka can't be hurt physically with any amount. That's not an NLF, it's simply how the notion of a "concept" works.

So let's get onto the notion of Madoka's "omnipresence". Here we reach the first major conflict of information. Madoka states that she will be everywhere and every moment from now on after ascending to Godhood. However Kyubey claims she will no longer be in this universe any more upon ascending to Godhood. This alone would be fairly easily to write off, as the Incubators clearly have very limited knowledge of the abstract plane. However the Incubators are able to create a field isolating Homura from the concept of the law of cycles. If Madoka was everywhere, like the concepts of "matter" or "energy" for instance that would be impossible, because Madoka would be within the Incubators, all their technology, and in Homura herself. Likewise when Madoka is awoken she moves to Homura instead of simply being where Homura is. Even in episode 12 Madoka does not simple "be" wherever the Magical Girls that are dying need her. Instead she shoots her arrows there which become her. As I said earlier feats should obviously be important then character statements. But I do want to try and reconcile this information as beset we can. Especially since Madoka would have no reason to lie to Homura there outside of maybe making her feel better.

I think Madoka might not be omnipresent in the sense of having all of physical existence within her being, if that was the case she would simple be where she needs too, and it would be impossible for there to be something physical that is not apart of her. Rather I think what Madoka has is a combination of two factors.

1: As a being of outside of physical space and time Madoka can theoretically exist when and where she chooses "in" the spacetime continuum though her real self is not anywhere or when, it is outside the spacetime continuum.
2: Madoka appears where her arrows are shot, which means theoretically she can duplicate herself to the degree that she can be in every place a Magical Girl needs her to be at once.

So that leads to the question...does Madoka have a speed? I greatly disagree with the notion that omnipresence is a speed. Omnipresence is a denotation of where you are (everywhere) while speed is a denotation of (change in space)/(change in time), a changing of where you are. Why is this important? Because Omnipresence does not theoretically help with a speedblitz. Let us say that the Flash was within the planet Mogo in the DC Universe. Mogo has planetary scale omnipresence but the Flash, a foreign entity could still blitz Mogo because The Flash can react and act faster then Mogo can. This is the same at any scale.

That said much like I don't think Madoka has a "durability" physically speaking, I also don't think she has a "speed" physically speaking. As a non-physical entity not within space and time, Madoka's position does not have any change in space or time. Madoka's "movement" speed could be any arbitrary amount, though in some cases it would be more akin to teleportation or time travel then to speed. What would more then in avoiding a speedblitz is Madoka's reaction time. How fast can Madoka sense things and react to them. While Madoka is outside the universe's spacetime continuum so long as she has a consciousness herself, it is clear she can thus experience change and thus experiences a spacetime beyond the physical one. A personal spacetime denoting to her what place her conceptual nature is in and what changes are happening to it. Unfortunately Madoka does not have a single good reflex feat I could find. The only showing is Pre-Akuma Homura moving fast enough to surprise Madoka which....is pretty low. The only other thing I could even think of was reacting to Homura's magic which grew to encompass the universe, but that sounds sketchy when considered in conjunction with the fact that the other Puella Magi, were able to react to it as well.

The other big claim Madoka made was that she is essentially omniscient. However here also we receive conflicting information. Less then a minute after claiming that Madoka says that Homura will "maybe" still remember her, suggesting she does not know everything that is going to happen even though she said she could all events that would happen in all the universes and all that has happened, including all the things Homura went through to try and save her. She also is clearly surprised by Homura's actions when Homura takes her powers. As such forming a conclusion about Madoka's cosmic awareness levels is difficult. I can only see three options though perhaps I am missing some form of reconciliation.

A: Madoka claims that she "can" see every event so she could be doing so but just decides not to? I don't like this explanation because while it's technically coherent it seems highly illogical on Madoka's part especially since her saying Homura might remember her in the universe to be is so soon after her saying she can see all of them. She never says she turns off her omniscience to preserve free will or anything like that would suggesting this option

B: Madoka says "As I am now" so she could have had the ability to see every event and then lost it? Again don't like this explanation because even though it's coherent there is nothing suggesting it and it isn't explained by anything

C: The way Madoka describes all the universes denotes that the universe is singularly real and the various pasts and futures are not equally existent, but instead what "could have been" and what "might be". They are possible realities, not alternate realities that emerged independently. In other words Madoka would be able to tell everything that could have happened and everything that might happen, but isn't able to tell which of the futures will come to past. In other words she knows every possible state of the universe but not which state the universe will take. I like this one most because it makes sense with Sayaka having been given half the powers and memories of Madoka to act as Madoka's emissary along with Bebe and how Sayaka mentions that Homura deserves it after all she went through denoting that she has awareness of all the timelines Sayaka went through just as Madoka did. This would explain why she knew Homura might be able to remember but didn't know for sure and why she was surprised at Homura's actions since she would know it was a possibility but not the probability of it.

With our understanding of Madoka's nature and awareness we should ask ourselves what Madoka can do. For the most part this is a question of what she can do on the physical plane. To be honest, there is sadly little suggesting that she can do much. Kyubey claims Madoka can't interact with anyone anymore. We know the Incubators have a very limited knowledge of a Divine Being like Madoka's capacities though, so that should not be ironclad. As mentioned the notion that Madoka warped the concept of witches out of the multiverse is totally unfounded. It's contradicted constantly throughout Rebellion. Madoka's wish is to be able to erase each witch before they are born with her own hands and indeed we do see her do so, including wiping out Kriemhild Gretchen the strongest witch with apparent ease. But can she act apart from her concept? It might seem a silly question, but if Madoka is literally the concept or principle of wiping out witches before they are born, then it might seem natural to wonder if that is her whole existence.

However Madoka things other that. There is nothing in her wish implying she would gain the ability to take Magical Girl souls to Heaven and yet she does this. There is nothing in her wish or her concept that suggests she could give her powers or memories to others and yet she does this. Madoka may be the principle of wiping out witches but she also has a will, a consciousness that can decide to things unrelated to that principle, as well as having thoughts and feelings, meaning theoretically a mind and a soul. This seems consistent with all information we are given about her. In fact she even materializes a physical body to be "invited" into Homura's labyrinth. This seems strange in regards to why she didn't interact with Homura before the Incubators began their experiments if she can do so, and also it seems to contradict Kyubey she could not interact with anyone anymore, though for the later again the Incubators knowledge of conceptual beings is imperfect.

As Madoka can act unrelated to her concept based on showings, this would suggest there is nothing stopping her from say firing her magic arrows at a potential enemy and releasing a large amount of energy in an attempt to defeat them in a standard versus match. This leads to another question, namely can Madoka reality-warp?

As mentioned above, claims that Madoka warped the concepts of witches away are unsubstantiated. Madoka made changes to the spacetime continuum that it caused to warp in accordance with these changes and the wraiths are a resulting emergence of the new cosmos that Madoka clearly had no reason to make. We do not say Flash is universe level even though his actions changed the Post-Crisis Earth-1 to become the Flashpoint Universe by going back in time. Homura with a tiny fraction of Madoka's powers DID warp the universe however it does not seem evident this necessarily means Madoka could do the same though it does present a clear possibility of it being so. So Madoka can cause the universes to change by altering the past, and possibly has the direct ability to universal reality-warp scaling from Homura.

With all that said Madoka has some pretty clear weaknesses. She clearly is capable of being mental manipulated as happened with Homura's labyrinth in the isolation field and with Akuma Homura wiping her memories despite being much weaker. Also she has never been in a fight anyone her equal. As such she has no feats of surviving the attack of someone who can actually affect abstract concepts existing outside physical spacetime nor does she have any clear reaction speed feats. This is why I think Madoka is stronger then almost any Magical Girl but weaker then Sakura and Usagi. Most Magical Girls simply have no way of affecting her and would die of old age even if she did nothing. That said Usagi and Sakura can both attack abstract concepts existing outside of spacetime and have defenses that could protect them from any ability Madoka has shown.

Akuma Homura is somewhat different, and easier to use, though it's mildly disturbing to me that some people are actually trying to scale her to Kami Madoka when she explicitly only has a tiny bit of her power. Akuma Homura is shown by suggestion and feats to have universal power both in terms of reality-warping and raw destruction (method unknown). Akuma Homura is possibly at least part conceptual herself as Kyubey notes the shifting of the world and wonders if it means a new concept is being born, though Homura seems to also be at least partially physical as well which would suggest she is susceptible to physical attack and hax. Unless Homura is suicidal her assertion she might destroy the universe at least suggests she can survive universe level physical energy, though she lacks much durability and speed feats much like Kami Madoka. We know her magic speed is quadrillions of times the speed of light, able to quickly encompass the whole universe. Ideally that scales at least her reflex speed though there is no evidence that I would say is conclusive in that regard.

The 7 kinds of versus debates you will get into

Type 1: The singular point debate
Get ready for essay long arguments longer then some college theses about whether or not “combat speed” exists or what qualifies as an “outlier”. Watch a debate on how fighting “really” works between two people who probably have never been in a fight before. Inevitably the debate will no longer even remotely involve the actual fight that was initially be discussed as it degenerates into a spiraling pit of anger at a basic axiom. I’m half-convinced the sole purpose different versus forums exist is solely so that these can be avoided more so.

Type 2: The boring numbers debate
In real life humans fighting each other is interesting due to how most humans physically speaking are well within an order of magnitude with each other and when you include weapons then skill and tactics have to come into play. Unfortunately, due to fiction’s superpowers covering such a huge range of power, some debates are as simple as “well this character’s numbers are higher”.

Type 3: The argument about abilities debate
Only marginally more entertaining debate then the above, this is a debate about what abilities a character specifically has and how we should “interpret” something from fiction. Be prepared to see people try and give the most esoteric possible arguments for why something is or is not an ability a character has. Also be ready for people making intuitive leaps instead of sticking to what the series actually depicts.

Type 4: The “too popular” characters debate
Some characters are very well-known (or get very popular in the space of a short timespan) and as such people get very popular conceptions of how strong they are. The more popular the characters are, the harder it is to change people’s mind that they should be stronger or weaker then they intuitively think because how much they feel they already know about the character. Doing a debate with one of these characters can quickly make you feel like you’re arguing against absurd claims because OBVIOUSLY this character isn’t x strong. Have you never seen anything involving them? God help you if you have a debate with multiple of these characters.

Type 5: The “clear sides” debate
When different fandoms have a popular matchup that’s somewhat close and so your position on it is seen as nothing less as you claiming allegiance to one side or another even though it’s supposed to be about what’s most rational.

Type 6: The “I participated” debate
Sometimes an actual cool matchup comes up, one that’s actually debatable. You could make a good in-depth argument for either side. Watch as you get a flood of responses that are 1 sentence long, don’t reply to any points anyone else brings up, and doesn’t dig very deep.

Type 7: The Real Tactical Debate
Some say it doesn’t exist. Some say it’s a once in a lifetime experience. The Real Tactical Debate is a debate where both sides are actually fairly even in interesting ways giving both sides a good chance of winning and then people actually debate the tactics of the debate, giving in-depth thoughtful responses to each other’s arguments, thinking of how the characters can use their powers in interesting ways to combat each other, and the unique interactions the two characters can have. I try and foster these debates.
