5 Characters who are weirdly powerful

You ever see a series as a vs debater and you think a character is probably gonna be around this strong due to their role in the series and they end up being way stronger then you would have predicted. This is just a quick blog detailing 5 times that happened to me. These are characters who are either way stronger then you would have expected from their verse or are a lot stronger then their role in the verse would suggest. Or both.

5: Naraku (Inuyasha)

Inuyasha isn't the strongest shonen out there. It can maybe hang with Part 1 Naruto or BNHA, but it's not that strong. That said it's big bad Naraku is ridiculous. In a series that struggles to hit megaton range, Naraku just casually melts mountains with his miasma. He can regen immediatly from any bit of his physical body and even if you blow up his physical body and can regenerate further so long as a piece of his soul exists beyond spacetime. Inuyasha has pretty good hax for it's power but Naraku takes it to another level. He's got mind manipulation, telekinesis, absorption, power absorption, can neg regen, can emanate miasma that melts away things it touches, can duplicate, can turn people's body parts into black holes, reflect attacks, limited time travel and more then anything he's just really hard to kill.

I get it, he's the main villain. But like Inuyasha is the main protagonist and he's got like 1 type of hax. Sesshoumaru is his main rival and he's got maybe 2.

4: Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo is the mascot for a show about solving seemingly supernatural mysteries and showing they aren't supernatural. He's the comic relief due to being comedically scared. Why is he so powerful?

He apparently has legit scaling to characters with kiloton feats, scaling from Black Samurai who Shaggy fought, Black Samurai creating Earhquakes in his fights and Shaggy also being able too. He's MHS from outrunning monsters made of legit lightning. He's got gag toonforce time-rewinding and regen and can interact with legit ghosts. Also he somehow can fly and paint doors into existence and a whole bunch of toon shenangans.

This one gets me because it's so contrary to what you would think given the show's premise. You can say most of the same things about Courage, and in fact I think Courage is easily stronger. But that was a show where the premise was about confronting actual supernatural threats. Scooby Doo is a show where the premise is about confronting false supernatural threats and yet he has these crazy superhuman feats.

3: GLaDOS (Portal)

I start researching GLaDOS feats from Portal thinking she's gonna be a street leveler. After all Portal is a fairly short game series, the heroine is a normal human whose only superhuman ability is to create portals, and I had seen both games to completion and didn't remember anything super crazy.

Turns out I was wrong. Almost immediatly I ran into the fact that GLaDOS has FEMTOSECOND reactions, reactions fast enough to react to MFTL+ characters, something that is actually somewhat consistent, can technopathically control a city-side structure, and can access a multiverse. That multiverse gives her infinite resources and potentially access to anything possible, as well as universal to outright multiversal destructive capabilities. FTL Travel, Time Travel, Inter-Dimensional Travel all possible as well. I had no idea GLaDOS was gonna be so broken when I started researching her.

2: Mikeru (Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch)

This is a silly magical girl anime about idol mermaids, why does it have someone like this as it's villain? 2/3rds of the manga is the first arc with Gaito then in the last bit this guy shows up and basically does to MM what Kaguya did to Naruto power-wise.

In a verse that already got way stronger then you would expect, a verse where one of the villains plans is to flood the lands of the Earth with water from the dark sea, Mikeru is described as a transcendent power vastly stronger then anything else who can merge a dimension with at the very least all of the human world, and possibly the entire Earth. Literally the only one else in the verse relative to his power and hax is Aqua Regina, the goddess of the oceans who is basically just the plot device of the series and even that is questionable.

Despite the fact that he only appears in the last 1/3rd of the manga he has way more powers then anyone else. He can teleport, warp dimensions, control minds, absorb people and use them as shields or use their powers entirely, warp minds, create love, enter into dreams etc. This is a verse that before Mikeru showed up, a hax character was a character that had a little bit of mind manipulation or could freeze people. Then this guy shows up and starts warping reality and playing around with higher plane shenanigans. He's way stronger then you would expect from his series.

1: Creamy Mami (Creamy Mami)

Speaking of, this one is fairly similar. Creamy Mami is a Magical Girl from an 80s series and if you know 80s series, they will use something like magic as an excuse to do anything. That said Creamy Mami is a slice of life series about a girl who turns into a singer with her magic. How hax could it be?

Turns out, a ridiculous amount. Creamy Mami can duplicates, create magical shields that reflect attacks, make herself good at any skill, make things come to life, sent herself through dimensions by accident, control technology, magically moved a boat, fought a unicorn whose magic maintained forest dimension, and she RESTORED ALL OF TIME ONCE. That's not even getting into the fact that she and Minky Momo got into a fight where they turned Kaiju-Sized and destroyed a city or the fact that she and the other pierrot magical girls formed a club that defeated an extra-dimensional alien with a magic explosion signifigant in size to the Moon. Or the fact that she fought a dragon without her magical powers

She's an idol singer Pierrot. An Idol Singer! Why?! And don't even get me started on Pino Pino, that little alien guy who gave her, her powers. At one point he's implied to be omnipresent.

If people seem to like this blog, might make more. There's plenty of characters that seem bizarrely strong for their role and verse.

Ranking the protagonists of my favorite series using only feats from their first installment

As the title says, a ranking of my favorite protagonists from their first episode/chapter/level whatever in temrs of who would win in a fight. This is specifically the first main series installment that came out and nothing else. In other words, no prequels, no pilots, no remakes, and no scaling to events outside the first installment. For game characters a level will be defined as the sequence of events up to the first boss fight or major scene transition including optional content.

Victory is by Death or KO. Characters are in-character but think each other are evil entities. Arena is Neutral Earth, Gladiatoral Arena. Characters start prepared for the fight.

32: Madoka Kaname (Puella Magi Madoka Magicka)

+14 Year Old Girl

+Prophetic Dreams

So as of episode 1, Madoka lacks any powers and is still a completely mundane civilian. If you allowed outside scaling she might be higher as she and Sayaka react to witch familiars, though within the ep itself, the witch familiars don't have any notable speed feats. Compared to the other physically normal humans, Madoka is relatively young and her personality is extremely compassionate and sweet, which would not be helpful in a fight.

31: Wirt (Over the Garden Wall)

+Somewhere between 14 to 16 year old boy

+Demonstrated minor athletics in avoiding the Beast-Wolf

+Implied to be smart, if overly cautious

Wirt is a boy, who typically post adolescendence have greater upper body strength on average, is possibly older, and has better feats then Madoka. His overly cautious personality is not great for a fight but is probably better suited then being compassionate and sweet since it suggests he would be more defensive.

30: Watanuki Kimihiro (xxxHolic)

+15 year old boy

+Can see spirits

+Minor gag speed

+Implied to be smart

Watanuki's spiritual sight isn't particularly helpful here. That said he has athletic human speed from gag of him running quickly away from spirits and reacting quickly for comedic effect. Given his high-strung personality, I can see him overwhelming Wirt.

29: Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club)

+16 year old girl

+Minor gag speed

+Ouran Honor Student

So Watanuki is a boy, but Haruhi is a year older which I think might balance out. The two have similar "move quickly to be funny" feats, but Haruhi is an honor student at her school which is better intelligence then Watanuki shows in episode 1. Plus while he is high strung and overly dramatic, Haruhi is even within ep 1 clearly practical and down to Earth. The last three on this list are pretty interchangable, and you can exchange them pretty easily.

28: Stanley (The Stanley Parable)

+Adult Man

-That's about it

Stanley is a fully grown adult man. Haruhi is probably smarter and faster by a small degree, but I don't think that's enough to make up the adult/teenager divide in physical strength.

27: Dante Alighieri (Commedia)

+Adult Man

+Avoided several wild beasts

Granted, Stanley is a modern man which are on average are larger and healthier then a man from Dante's time would be. That said Dante has something of a physical feat, which is better then Stanley has. This is especially true because Stanley is implied to be something of a dullard while Dante seems quite bright.

26: Princess Tutu (Princess Tutu)

+Superhuman grace and agility

+Plant Manipulation

If Tutu just had her superhuman grace and agility, I'm actually not sure if she would be able to beat Dante. That said her plant manipulation via her dancing would do it, she could bind him in a fight by conjuring and commandings vines to do so.

25: Frisk (Undertale)

+Superhuman stats (can kill monsters even in the Ruins, survived a long fall)

+Superhuman reactions (dodges waves of fire attacks from Toriel)

+Toy Knife

+Smart enough to solve puzzles

+Superhuman DETERMINATION

Frisk is signifigantly physically superior to Duck and his reactions and intelligence should allow him to dodge her plants long enough to tag her eventually, as Toriel's fire attacks came in a lot greater number and speed

24: Wander (Wander over Yonder)

+Building Level Durability (Tanked being thrown out of orbit)

+Subsonic+ Speed (Moved fast enough to be a blur to help several people in seconds, consistenly dodged Lord Hater's attacks who was fast enough to blur and crossed a large clearing in seconds)

+Can turn into a ball

-Obsessive Helper

Wander's stats are more akin to someone further up on the list but he has an obsessive need to help people even within the first episode. I can't see him mustering the will to hurt someone and even if he did, he would be likely to try to help them during their fight. His only real win condition is to tire opponents by avoiding their attacks. I think he could probably dodge Frisk's attacks for a long time if he had too, as Frisk in just the Ruins never shows superhuman speed personally, just reactions while Wander has high subsonic speed. Plus Frisk would struggle just to hurt Wander given Wander's dura.

23: Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho)

+Is a Ghost

+Superhuman Skill

Yusuke as of chapter 1 was a ghost who couldn't effect physical people and couldn't be seen or effected by physical people. He stalemates a lot of people on this list just because neither can affect each other although at the very least, being a ghost means Yusuke will outlast them. As he can only win via outlasting an enemy, similar to Wander, I thought it appropriate to put them together, with Yusuke above since Wander will run out of energy before a bodyless ghost will.

22: Yugi Muto (Yu-Gi-Oh!)

+Superhuman level/Superleaping (Leapt really high)

+Is a homocidal Egyptian Pharaoh's spirit possessing a teenage boy's body.

+Can initiate a game of darkness, a game in which one's true nature is revealed.

+Penalty Game: Mind Hax. Can induce illusory state of mind for people

As a spirit posesssing body, probably has the spiritual awareness to see Yusuke and initiate a game of darkness. Because at this time Yusuke's true nature and character was dark and violent, Yugi would be able to game of darkness him. Interestingly you can say the past 3 forma  triangle as Wander's true nature is fully good and may not be able to be penalty-gamed. That said I think Yugi has a better chance of beating Wander then Wander does of beating Yusuke or Yusuke has of beating Yugi, both of which are basically impossible.

21: Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon)

+Wall Level (Created ultrasonic waves that disrupted the room she was in)

+Moon Tiara that turns people to moondust

+Superhuman speed (went from her room to Naru's house before Morga could kill Naru, dodged attacks from brainwashed civilians who quickly came from different parts of the city to her location)

+Clairvoyance (Her mask can see distant events)

+Superhuman hearing (Can hear distant sounds with her hairpieces)

-Is a clumsy crybaby, not a fighter

So I defintiely think Yami Yugi would freak Act 1 Usagi out, Yami Yugi being a scary dark other side to Hikari Yugi and Usagi being characteristically cowardly. That said the game of darkness would reveal Usagi's nature as heroic, as Usagi even in Act 1 selflessly risked her life to protect Naru and was a "chosen soldier". As such Yugi would struggle to hurt Sailor Moon, while her soundwaves or tiara throw could very well work on Yugi. Might take a while, but I think Sailor Moon eventually wins.

20: Cardcaptor Sakura (Cardcaptor Sakura)

+Has the Windy, an elemental force of wind that can be used to bind

+Has the Jump which gives superleaping

+Can seal spirits

Sakura's arsenal is not as versatile as Usagi's however the Windy is a really uesful card. It could blow away the tiara throw and because sound waves propogate through air could likely keep those away, before binding Sailor Moon while Sakura keeps distant with Jump. It helps that Sakura is somewhat athletic and also calm under pressure.

19: Cutie Honey

+Superhuman Strength (Has 4 times the strength of a human)

+Wall Level Swordswomanship (Can slice limbs and heads off)

+Superhuman speed and skill (Fights numerous opponents at once and defeated a Panther Claw Agent)

+Disguise Power (has 7 forms)

+Can use any vehicle

+Can apparently summon anything out of thin air

Honey vs Sakura is a weird one going just by first chapters. Windy could bind Honey but could Honey summon a ranged weapon with the Airborne Element Fixing System? It's kinda nlf-ish what it can do, although given how skilled she is and her disguise power, I imagine she can probably get the jump on Sakura, who is characteristically a bit naive, in most situations.

18: Minute Man (Freedom Force)

+Wall Level+ (Can crush a boulder and can pick up and throw cars)

+Can leap up to the top of a building

+Skilled melee fighter (can hit numerous foes at once)

+National Guard (Defense that deflects projectiles)

Minute Man is strong enough to overpower Honey, similarly skilled and can deflect ranged attacks from her via National Guard.

17: Omi (Xiaolin Showdown)

+Wall Level (Kicked apart a robot, can hop around pillars while wearing the two-ton tunic)

+Highly skilled, agile warrior (Trained as a Xiaolin Monk)

+Can blend into the shadows

+Can balance on two fingers

+Can walk on the walls, and ceilings too

Level 1 Minute Man vs Episode 1 Omi would be a really good fight imo. Minute Man is probably physically stronger but Omi is more skilled. That said, I think Omi would win because his other abilities are more helpful. Omi doesn't use projectiles for National Guard to deflect, and superhuman balance, adhesion and especially his stealth ae all skills that could realistically come into usage. Also I think he's probably faster as there are points he briefly turns into a blur.

16: Mew Ichigo (Tokyo Mew Mew)

+Wall Level+ (Her Transformation created a light that could be seen across the city and made the day sky look dark by comparison)

+Subsonic speed (Can move comparable to the mutanted rat who moved like a blur)

+Matter Purification (Turned the mutated rat back into a normal rat)

+Energy Projection

+Catlike senses

+Can tell the weather

+Catlike balance and agility

-Tires easily (Gets sleepy like a cat)

Mew Ichigo vs Omi basically comes down to whether Omi can get in close range. If he can, he can melee beat down Ichigo. Otherwise, Ichigo simply blasts him from out of his range. While Omi is highly agile due to his monk training, Ichigo also is from her cat dna. Whiel Omi is stealthy, Ichigo has catlike senses to detect through stealth. Ichigo can likely withstand several strikes from Omi while the inverse is probably not true. Mew Ichigo takes this more likely.

15: Hikaru Shidou (Magic Knight Rayearth)

+Low Building Level Strength/Durability (Could already completely destroy large monsters)

+Can shoot numerous flame arrows at her target

+Skilled swordswoman (trained in Kendo)

The only way I can see Hikaru vs Ichigo going Ichigo's way is if mew power can undo Hikaru's powers, however Hikaru's elemental fire powers don't seem to be a part of her body and thus wouldn't be purified. while Ichigo is faster and more agile then Hikaru, one blow or arrow from Hikaru would absolutely stop Ichigo, and Hikaru can spam flame arrow at a rate and constancy more then Ichigo can spam her Ribbon Strawberry Check, while Ichigo would struggle to hurt the magic knight. Even if Ichigo can purify Hikaru of her fire magic, Hikaru's strength comes from her force of will and she could still possibly take it.

14: Superman (DC Comics)

+Wall Level+ Strength (Casually smashed a car with one hand and pulled a steel door off it's hinges)

+Low Building Level Durability (Nothing less then a bursting shell can break his skin, tanked a bullet thinking it was a laughing matter)

+Subsonic (As fast as a locomotive)

+Superleaping

Superman can get close to Hikaru via his superleaping and his superior speed, and possibly disarm her of her sword. If that's the case, then Superman's equal durability, superior strength, and greater speed should allow him a clean win. Superman should be tough enough to survive flame arrow barrage or a few of Hikaru's sword strikes, meaning Hikaru doesn't have a very clean win condition.

13: Samus Aran (Metroid)

+Wall Level+ (Can withstand own bomb explosions)

+Blaster, Bombs, and Missiles, can make enemies explode

+Can turn into the morph ball

+Space Suit/Armor (Chozo Armor)

It's a bit hard to assess the first "level" of Metroid given it's layout, but this is what I determined was the closest loadout. Superman can easily withstand early modern weaponry, but I don't think he'd be able to take futuristic weaponry like advanced missiles and bombs. Superman is faster and if he got in close he could quickly do damage to Samus but she can surprise by going into morph ball and laying bomb before rolling away. With prior knowledge, Superman probably wins, but given he would have no idea what kind of powers Samus has, I think she would take it.

12: Player Wizard (Magicka)

+Up to Low Building Level (Even in level 1 can freeze large sections of water)

+Can amplify up to subsonic with Haste Magicka

+Control and Fusion of the 8 Elements (Fire, Cold, Water, Earth, Lightning, Arcane, Life, Shield)

+Resurrection

+Can summon a meteor shower

+Can summon grease sections

+Teleportation

+Can randomly metafictionally erase someone from existence

+Magical Swords

Samus vs Wizard would be cool, with both throwing around crazy powers the other would have no idea what's going on and both easily able to one-shot each other. I think the Magicka Wizard would have the advantage since bombs at least are something they can create with shield + non Earth element, and because they have teleportation meaning even if they don't know what's happening they can teleport away if there sesm to be danger. Plus they're more versatile, can amp to faster speed, and their lightning element would probably chain to Samus' armor.

11: Blossom (The Powerpuff Girls)
+Wall+ Strength/Durability (Can tank her own flight)
+Supersonic Speed (Can fly fast enough to cause large damage to the rooms they were in, can easily fly to distant parts of Townsville quickly)
+Flight
+Experience Superheroing (Is already a veteran superhero)
Blossom is a bit of a speedster for this list, as supersonic speed is on the higher end. Combine that with experience and skill and she can probably beat down most characters that can't tank her punches. She's also got fairly manuerable flight.

10: Yuna Yuki (Yuki Yuna is a Hero)

+Can tank wall+ to low building attacks, Her super punch obliterated a large section of a small building sized monster, suggesting she'd be building level

+Skilled at punches

+Superhuman speed

+Can superleap really high

Blossom has the experience advantage and is signifigantly faster, however I think Yuki Yuna would be able to tank her attacks like she tanked the Vertex's attacks, and eventually land a hit, especially since even if Blossom is flying, Yuna has really high jumps that could probably reach her.

9: Cure Black (Pretty Cure)

+Likely Building Level Strength/Durability (Went toe to toe with Pisard who seemed to summon storm clouds over an amusement park)

+Skilled Melee Fighter (Pretty Cure transformation grants martial arts skills)

+Superhuman speed (In their fight with Pisard, Cure Black and Cure White moved superhumanly fast)

+Superleaping

Yuki Yuna vs Cure Black would be a cool episode 1 fight. They're relative in stats and have the same abilities. They're even somewhat similar in personality, at least combat-wise. While Yuna has a better superleaping feat, her full building strength seems to require more effort then Cure Black scaling to what is a casual conservative building level. Plus even if they are equal in strength, Cure Black has another small advantage. While both are skilled in punches, Cure Black also showed she was skilled with kicks which Yuki Yuna didn't.

8: Panty Anarchy (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt)

+Building+, possibly Large Building Level (Her bullet contributed half the energy to a building sized monster exploding)

+Building Level durability (survived a building sized sewage monster coming up at her while she was sitting on the toilet, while she was not even transformed)

+Superhuman speed

+Can hit ghosts

-Sex Addiction

-Her gun doesn't work on normal humans

The first episode doesn't express who and what her gun does and doesn't work on. If you say that it only works on ghosts she'd be lower, though because she does use real guns during the ep as well she wouldn't be that much lower. If you assume her guns do work however, she'd be here. While I have no doubt Cure Black could knock her out in a few hits up close, Panty has a vastly longer range. It's also not like her sex addiction would distract her as Cure Black is a teenager, and beyond that Panty doesn't show attraction to girls in the first ep.

7: Tiara (Shamanic Princess)

+Mage with inter-dimensional travel

+Can summon and fuse with demons

+Demonic Form is low building level and hypersonic (knocked an enemy outside a city they were fighting in before appearing nearby)

+Can summon dark orbs to levitate on or which she can meld into weapons

Tiara is not as physically strong as Panty is, but her hypersonic feat makes her a lot faster meaning she could get in close and just wail on her before she could react

6: Bayonetta (Bayonetta)

+Wall Level+ (Can cause angels to be completely destroyed)

+Hypersonic+ (Can move fast enough for time to seem stopped even without witch time)

+Witch Time (Layers of Time Slow)

+Highly skilled with numerous guns, can use 4 at once

+Non-Physical Interaction (can physically collect Angelic Halos, "spiritual metals containing Angelic essences and lifeforces")

+Can fight invisible inter-dimensional demons

Bayonetta vs Tiara would be cool to watch. Tiara has a power advantage, but all of Tiara's powers are things Bayonetta's enemies typically have; dimensional travel, levitation, and so on. Via skill and witch time she should probably be able to wear down Tiara.

5: Kratos (God of War)

+Multi-City Block Level (Overpowered the Main Head of the Hydra who has many heads attacking other ships in a fleet at once)

+Subsonic attack speed (Can attack with the Blades of Chaos fast enough for them to be a blur)

+Skilled, Agile Fighter

+Blades of Chaos, Fiery Chain-Swords

+Can emanate lightning (Poseidon gave him lightning area magic)

Bayonetta is way faster even without witch time but she doesn't really have any way of putting down Kratos and could be caught off guard by sudden lightning emanation or if a stray blow from the chains wings her.

4: Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom)

+Multi-City Block Level (Created a crater in the ground that would take over 700 tons of tnt)

+Supersonic Speed (Was sent in the sky above even where planes fly and quickly returned)

+Invisibility/Intangibility (over the course of the episode learns to control intangibility)

+Flight

+Can shift his body

+Can sense ghosts

+Can seal ghosts with the Fenton Thermos

-Not in control of his powers, accidentally changed back

Danny could lose against a lot of lower people on this list due to his lack of control of his powers. That said most likely just from his sheer stats he should be here, as he has similar if not greater strength to Kratos in this instance and superior speed. He also has intangibility and invisibility to compensate for his lack of skill.

3: Pegasus Seiya (Saint Seiya)

+Island Level (Atomized all the earth in a crater, requiring gigatons of energy)

+Subsonic speed (can punch 85 times a second)

+Can control and destroy atoms

+Martial Skill (Trained to be a Saint of Athena)

+Can channel the power of the Pegasus Constellation

Due to his speed, invisibility, and intangibility, Danny can make this fight take a long time for Seiya, but without overshadowing or the feats he would get later, Danny's got no way to damage Seiya, outside possibly phasing him into a wall or something. Not only is that out of character, but Danny may not be experienced enough to think of that, and Seiya can probably just destroy or control the atoms of the wall if Danny tries. Meanwhile Seiya is eventually going to hit Danny while he's not intangible.

2: Feliciano Vargas (Axis Powers Hetalia)

+Concept of North Italy

-Is a clumsy, cowardly buffoon.

From the start of the series Feliciano was the embodiment of Italy, or at least the Northern Half of it. Seiya does not have the area of effect to destroy North Italy as of chapter 1. Feliciano can't really hurt Seiya as well using just start of the series feats, but he can outlast him as a concept. Funnily enough, if you allow surrender as a defeat condition, then Felicano would be last as he always surrender, once surrendering to a cat.

1: Amaterasu (Okami)

+Stellar+ (Casually drew a star into the sky), possibly greater (The Brush Gods reverently refer to Amaterasu as origin of all that is good, a mother to us all)

+MFTL+ (Same speed as Imps who can move comparable to the Power Slash)

+Restoration Brush Technique (Restores things, even restored the River of Heaven)

+Power Slash Brush Technnique (Divine Strike)

+Brushwork is spiritual in nature and she can physically hold the spirit globes, human faith made solid

+Holds the Astral Pouch which contains food and can revive her

+Her footsteps causes the ground to flower

Putting anyone else on this list against Amaterasu is really unfair. She is cosmically stronger then anyone on this list at this stage, negates up to spiritual intangibility, and can easily cover the area of effect to kill Feliciano as she can create a star, and in the distant past fought a pitched battle with Orochi, a mountain-sized demon whose re-awakening caused darkness to cover the land of Nippon.

Speed Comparison for Favorite Verses

Just a quick blog for fun where I compare all my favorite verses tiers for speed.

Human Level:

-Almost every verse has average civilians without powers at this speed. The only exception are verses, usually more gag-y verses, where even average civilians can go faster then real world humans

Superhuman Level:

-Panthers from Cutie Honey even in their human form are noted to be able to move faster then humans can, and can turn into panthers. Cat species can naturally move in quick bursts faster then humans can.

-The Adventure Line from The Stanley Parable can move signifigantly faster then Stanley, an adult man can follow

-Lower D Spirit Classes from Yu Yu Hakusho can keep up with the motions of beings like Botan who flies faster then human speed and can enhance their speed with Youki or Reiki.

Subsonic:

-The Countries from Axis Powers Hetalia have numerous feats of moving fast enough to be blurs for comedic effect

-The Damned in Commedia are able to move fast enough to reach past the horizon in the time it takes Dante to say "amen"

-Panther Claw Agents are able to move relative but not equal to the speed of bullets

-The Golden Age Heroes in Freedom Force scale to Blackjack who is able to punch faster then the eye

-Master Fighters in Ouran High School Host Club are able to fight faster then the eye can see

-Inhabitants of the Unknown from Over the Garden Wall can move comparable to Wirt who was able to avoid the tears of the monster Papa whose tears covered an entire large clearing in short time

-Those with a Heart Shard from Princess Tutu can move comparable to Princess Tutu who leaped across a clearing fast enough to catch Mytho before he hit the ground after falling out a window

-Normal civilians in the Sailor Moon Universe are able to move fast enough to afterimage, and when brainwashed were able to come from distant parts of the city to Morga supernaturally quickly

-Normal monsters in Undertale are not drastically slower then the bark of a dog.

-Civilians in xxxHolic scale to Watanuki who can move fast enough to create afterimages for comedic effect

-Signifigant Mages in Yu-Gi-Oh! are able to move fast enough that their motions are faster then the eye

Supersonic:

-Cutie Honey from Cutie Honey is able to outpace bullets and scales in movement speed to advanced jets

-Amazon/Atlantean Tier fighters from DC Comics scale to numerous bullet-timing feats with Amazons being able to regularly avoid gunfire

-Human Soldiers from God of War scale to their arrows which can cross a clearing to hit the gargantuan Ares at supersonic speeds

-Boss Monsters from Undertale are comparable to Frisk who can move his soul faster then the bark of a dog, and scale to Undyne traveling to her house in a very short time calced at supersonic speeds.

-Upper D Classes from Yu Yu Hakusho scale to the speed at which Kuwabara can extend his sword which was calced to be faster then the speed of sound

Hypersonic:

-Master Non-Powered Fighters from DC Comics scale to the general range of casual bullet-timing and a large list of hypersonic feats from every era.

-Energy X Users from Freedom Force are generally beyond the speed of slow Subterrestrials who traveled from the center of the Earth to it's surface at Entropy's command

-Trained Fighters from Magic Knight Rayearth are of this speed scaling to the Conjurer Ascot who can fly through the air at Mach 8

-Mages from Magicka are somewhat relative to lightning and can move comparable to shooting stars summoned from space by Dagon. These are at least small meteorites moving at least ablation speed which would be hypersonic

-Bronze Saints from Saint Seiya which normally the speed of sound can reach at least this speed scaling from Galaxian Wars Seiya whose punch hit an area that would only appear for 1 milisecond from meters away.

-Mages from Shamanic Princess are able to punch each other out of cities they are in before immediatly appearing there as well

-C Class Fighters from Yu Yu Hakusho scale to Seiryu who can throw hundreds of punches in a second

-Heroes from Yuki Yuna is a Hero scale to the Stardust who move faster then any modern nuclear device

Massively Hypersonic:

-Third Sphere Angels from Bayonetta in particular the Irenic are able to move at least this speed as Irenic can move a space a thousand times the human world in a day

-Most Clow Card Spirits from Cardcaptor Sakura can move relative to each other, including relative to the Thunder, a spirit made of lightning

-Most Ghosts from Danny Phantom can move at least this speed scaling from Season 1 Danny moving similar in speed to Technus' lightning

-Most Monsters in God of War scale to at least this speed scaling from Geryon whose attacks are and move at the speed of lightning and being somewhat relative to Harpies who can quickly move a large portion of the diameter of the Planetoid Sized Mount Olympus

-Space Pirates from Metroid can relative to the weighted speed of Ridley who can still fly around the world of Zebes despite it's gravitional weight

Dead Space-verse Strategy Guide

How to be OP in the Dead Space-verse.

Local Scale Threats:

In the distant future of the 2500s, humanity has exhausted the resources of Earth and begun to mine and strip planets and stars as far as they can for resources for the ever growing need of the expanding human population. Human desperation for more and more resources, combined with human expansion and depletion of resources has led humans down a darker path societally and the finding of a strange unknown device known as the "Marker", a seeming source of infinite energy was too good to pass up. Unfortunately the markers had...other effects on people.

So the first thing to consider about Dead Space at this tier isn't even the Necromorphs; it's the verses highly advanced technology. Dead Space-verse humanity has progressed past a type 2 civilization. Weapons in use hundreds of years ago could cleanly tear off the limbs of people or destroy them entirely, where are generally wall level feats in the kilojoule range. Modern Era plasma and energy weapons get well within the megajoule to low building level. Twitchers, Necromorphs locked into stasis mode are bullet-timers around speed of sound with most powerful characters in the verse being able to react to them and move close enough to them. As such the stat limit is supersonic low building level.

However Dead Space technology includes many more versatile techs. The discovery of the graviton made the manipulation of gravity as easy as manipulation of electricity, even weaponized. Stasis allows for slowing an object down in time and Kinesis allows for telekinetic manipulation of objects. Medigel can prove fast healing to people and conversely sterilization gases can in seconds eat through any biological matter it's exposed too. The verse has shield technology and scanners so advanced they can detect things in other star systems. There exists also technology to affect one's mind, causing hallucinations.

However the verse's big threat are the Necromorphs, the reanimated corpses of humanity caused by the Markers. Necromorphs are a mass of undead cells infected by Necromorph Bacteria that resemble highly warped versions of humans and are most well known for their inhuman endurance. You can knock off the limbs of a Necromorph and most the time they will continue to move. They need no oxygen or food. Mostly simplistic in thought they do demonstrate rudimentary hunting tactics, playing dead, or surprise ambush.

There are many varies of Necromorphs from the blade-handed slashes to the large heavy brutes. Wheezers convert oxygen into a poisonous gas and Fliers....well fly. Exploders self-detonate, and Stalkers are known for their stealthy approach. Infectors can infect entities to turn them into Necromorphs and there are numerous ranged attacks, most notably the acid attacks of Spitters and Pukers. The Twitchers are Necromorphs locked into Stasis mode which can move at relative superspeed and the Creeper dissolves and absorbs biological material it comes into contact with. More then endurance, Regenerators regenerate their limbs and can only die from being burned. There are enhanced versions of all of these, with incredibly strong Necromorphs like the Hunter and the Ubermorph having power like the Brutes, stealth like the Stalkers, and the same regeneration as Regenerators. There are more types but these are probably the most important.

And probably the biggest threat in this tier; the Markers themselves. Alien Objects that convert all nearby dead tissue into necromorph tissue. The Markers are the source of Necromorphs. The Markers also mess with the minds of living entities, making then go mad, turn violent, see hallucinations of dead people and so on. This may sound like a decently strong passive ability but the real kicker is the range. The Marker's psychic range extends to the point of affecting people on a spaceship in orbit around a planet the Marker was on. It requires a strong will to resist.

So how can you actually fight this verse? Before we get into weaknesses I wanna say one type of character that absolutely can not be used and that is the undead. Any character whose tissue is already dead will have their tissue turned into Necromorph tissue which is the opposite of winning. Being undead is sort of an anti-counter to the verse.

In fact genenerally not being made of biological matter offers benefits. It avoids potential for Necromorph infectation, it prevents biological weapons of DS-verse humans from affecting the counter. This leads me to what I think is a good idea in general for counters, that being: Robots. The DS-verse doesn't seem to possess AI but a good robot would be really strong in the verse. Robots generally have a better resistance to acid, can often avoid mind hax via not having a biological brain and can avoid or manuever the environmental puzzles better then a silly human can. Things like zero gravity, heavy radiation, very low temperatures to the point of freezing, fast moving machine areas, corridors of biological corruption, rooms of the poisonous gas of Wheezers; none of these would faze a solid robot build.

Necromorphs also have their infamous weakness; dismemberment. Removing certain limbs from a Necromorph can finally disable them. Which ones depends on the Necromorph which makes it difficult for most counters to effectively utilize the weakness, as they need both a way of figuring out where their weakness is and the precision and calmness to hit the right limbs when under the pressure of a Necromorph swarm. This is why I suggest robots vs other inorganic entities as most superpowered robots in fiction have things like scanners and cybernetic precision along with a lack of fear in high pressure situations. That said a sufficiently high skill or intelligence build would probably also be effective here as most of the necromorphs lack advanced thought.

With that said, who would be a good counter? Well the first idea you could do is

Cutie Honey from Cutie Honey.

Cutie Honey's power is said to greater then any human weapon including anti-tank missiles which would be put her in this range, and is consistent with her turning into a mech of low building size. She is also a bullet-timer, which means she should be fairly comparable to a powerful Necromorph.

Cutie Honey is an advanced android who is skilled enough to fight 10 relative Panther Claw agents at once. She also commonly uses dismemberment as a method, which means she should be easily be able to slice off the limbs of any attacking Necromorphs. Her brain can link up to satelites to scan for information which especially in the Dead Space-verse where scanners can scan for information as far away as other star systems, she should be able to gain information about any type of Necromorph she comes across.

However that doesn't even bring in her greatest weapon; the I-System, a system that can alter air molecules to create anything from thin air. Against Slashers or Lurkers she can summon her signature boomerang to slice off their limbs from outside their range. Against Regenerators she can summon bombs or a flamethrower to destroy them. However the power of the I-System extends beyond even this. Cutie Honey can decompose toxins and restore dead molecules into living ones, shown even bringing plants back to life. The Necromorph Bacteria can only infect dead molecules, so having infected molecules turn to life will cause the necromorphs bodies to dissolve into stray molecules again.

The only possible weaknesses I can see for Honey is that she still has a human heart, and it's possible that the Markers would emotionally torment her by showing her images of Dr. Kisaragi, her father and that the I-System requires massive amounts of food to power and keep energized which may be more difficult to come by. For a counter that is less prone to have difficulty with these, you could use

Undyne from Undertale.

Undyne easily withstood an explosion that destroyed much of her house, which is a low building feat. She also ran there from a distant area quickly, a feat calced around mach 2, consistent with being signifigantly a version of Frisk who dodged literal barks from a dog. Undyne would be quick and strong for the tier.

Undyne is a monster, a being made of magic, not a biological entity and as such could not be infected by Necromorph bacteria. The Marker's form of mind hax and insanity inducement can be defeated by a strong enough Will, and Undyne's DETERMINATION is one of the strongest in UT, able to restore herself even after her own death. Even if it showed her visions of those she loved who died, canonically as of the Genocide Route, this only increases Undyne's determination as was seen when thoughts of Papyrus made her more determined. The Necromorphs are the scourge of a humanity that has spiritually been decayed but the Determination of a true hero will not break.

Undyne is the highly skilled Captain of the Guard who can summon astral spears from the ground which would skewer any approaching Necromorph with vastly better area control then they have shown, hitting any weak points on them accidentally. She can use her green magic to force her enemy to try to block her attacks before attacking on the metafictional plane. The Necromorphs, space zombies without any sense of self-preservation would have 0 ability to block and would be torn to shreds. But what about regenerators? Well it's actually implied that Undyne has learned fire magic, to burn them.

However she may not even need that. Undertale Monsters attack the souls of their targets. Necromorphs are not seperate entities. They are reanimated bodies controlled by a Hive Mind, meaning all Necromorphs in an area likely share one soul. If Undyne was in Isaac's place in DS1, she would see the soul of the first Slasher, stab it with her astral spear, and possibly end all Necromorphs on the Ishimura clearing the first game in seconds.

The only thing that really makes me worry is monsters take damage depending on their enemies lethal intent. This means if an attack gets through and she doesn't block it, which isn't super likely given her ability to block, but if it does, she'll probably die. For a counter that would be even better.

R2-D2 from Star Wars.

R2-D2 is a small droid from Star Wars that gets all the advantages of being a robot. He has moved fast enough to make numerous afterimages meaning he would be at the speed of Necromorphs outside of the Twitchers, though absolutely would not be able to be blitzed by them given his ability to casually pilot Starships moving millions of times the speed of light and process information in tiny amounts of time. R2-D2 also survives a starship explosion that should make him comparable in raw durability.

In personal combat, R2-D2 has a taser whose electricity could phase magna guards, vastly stronger then any Necromorph and whose electrical charge would likely course through a necro's body to any weak points. He also stores a lightsaber within him which could easily slice off any limbs he needs too. And he would easily be able to do this as most necromorphs would be unable to recognize him as an enemy due to his small size, lack of humanoid shape, and lack of any vital signs. In contrast, R2-D2's life scanners would allow him to detect the presence of any Necromorphs and the species of their bodies, allowing him to likely tell any weak points. R2-D2 is also a surprisingly skilled droid, defeating combat droids by himself. R2-D2 actually has limited flight capabity to navigate Zero-G areas and he can use the same rocket boosters to roast and fully kill Regenerators.

However none of this is R2-D2's greatest strength. The reason Isaac Clarke could defeat the Necromorphs' when no one else could wasn't because of his combat ability. He was not soldier. He was an engineer, an amazing engineer. Isaac manipulated the advanced tech of his verse to defeat the Necromorphs. R2-D2 has insane technological manipulation feats. He was easily able to, for instance, control technology that far newer astrotechs thought was impossible to control. Bear in mind the Star Wars Universe is a Type 3 civilization with tech far more advanced then the Dead Space-verse. R2-D2 would be able to easily hack into the tech of the Ishmura, vent the Necromophs into space outside the big ones and then use the cannons of it on the big ones like Isaac did the slug from the first computer of the ship.

Regional to Planetary Scale Threat:

Here we have the boss necromorphs and our hero Isaac himself. The Boss Necromorphs are what are created from massive accumulation of Necromorph tissue, often skyscraper sized tendrils of necromorph flesh that tend to grow tendrils to grab and melee and shoot large blobs of acid to destroy organic material against them. Most worrying of them are the Hive Minds, the central Necromorph minds that can command the smaller ones.

For the most part the Necromorph abilities don't really change here, particularly because Hive Minds can create the previous types of Necromorphs. All that really changes is that the stat range grows to supersonic large building level.

What DOES change is counter strategies. Intelligence builds are not as helpful due to the advanced abstract alien intellects of Hive Minds. Dismemberment isn't helpful against enemies that don't have limbs. Traditional combat skill also isn't super helpful here.

What is helpful here is a related skill. Boss Necromorphs do have their own weak points, these little yellow sacks on their body. This combined with their lack of range for their sizes suggests that a good counter would be a sniper strategy. High range and accuracy could kill the Boss Necromorphs before they could effectively counter. This brings me to my first counter

The T-800 from Terminator.

The T-800 survived an explosion calced at 8.5 tons of TNT, putting him at high end of Large Building Level. He also has supersonic reactions, able to catch a bullet with his teeth.

The Hive Mind Necromorph may have the collective information of the matter it has absorbed, but T-800 has access to all the collective data uploaded by humanity, giving him an intelligence and skill beyond even the Necromorph Hive Mind. His cyborg nature also makes him immune to most Necromoprh tactics from infectation, acid (he has shown explict acid resistance) or marker control.

He also has a massive advantage in range, senses and accuracy. The T-800's sensory range with his various types of scanners can extend miles away, which would allow him to snipe the weak points of a Boss Necromorph from well outside it's attack range. This isn't even taking into account his ability to utilize the technology of the verse.

The only real threat here would actually not be the Necromorphs, but Isaac himself. Isaac's technical knowledge and more esoteric abilities like time slow might be able to beat the T-800 if he gets him into close enough range, though the T-800 does still have the stealth and range advantage. For a counter that could fight Isaac better you could use

Coco and Lolo from Magical Girls of the End

The Zombie Magical Girls each scale above 6 tons of tnt and are comparable in speed to Living Dead M who can block multiple bullets at once.

The Two Girls' necromancy is the ability to control the dead, animating them under the control. As all Necromorphs are dead material, it's likely Coco and Lolo could control them. Regardless they both have their unique powers, repel and attract, giving them together the same telekinetic power of Isaac's Telekinesis.

They can also regenerate so long as their wands aren't destroyed, something none of the verse would have know to try as it's such an outside context fight. Against the tier, the two could command the Necromorphs to fight against Isaac while telekinetically ripping him in half using their powers. Biggest point for them though is their range, a speciality of the verse. The two can hit buildings very far away, well father then any of the Boss Necromorphs have ever shown.

The only weakness they have is that they probably could be controlled by the Marker, lacking much of a strong will. For a character that can fight the verse on their own terms you could use

The Thing from John Carpenter's The Thing.

In canonical comics that are sequels to the film, The Thing demonstrated the ability to turn into a giant form that dwarfed trees and was able to turn into a fish able to swim from South America to Australia in a relatively brief time, requiring supersonic speeds. As such, with enough assimilated matter, the Thing should be able to have similar stats of a Hive Mind.

The Thing and a Necromorph Hive Mind would actually be fairly similar, both able to quickly regenerate or shift their biomatter into weapons as they will. However the Thing would have two major advantages. The Thing's cells are each living and will act to protect themselves and assimilate any biological matter it comes into contact with while Necromorph Bacteria can only infect dead cells. This means that The Thing could infect and assimilate Necromorphs but the same could not happen in reverse, as the Thing is a living organism.

The other weakness is even more damning, The Thing could use Isaac's own form of tactics. The Thing is actually very technologically accomplished, able to turn human scrap into a flying saucer quickly. It can use not just biological but also technological means to fight the verse. The Thing is basically a Hive Mind but with Isaac's ability to use technology. It can even turn human form for stealth purposes, something the Hive Mind certainly wouldn't, to catch Isaac off guard.

The Thing basically has every weapon of the tier at it's disposal. In the comic, it even displayed minor psionic abilities and has the accumualted mind and will of each person it has assimilated it probably has the willpower to resist the Marker.

Galactic Scale Threat:

The harvesting of all life for biomass in the form of the necromorphs is an endless cycle in the galaxy created by the Brethren Moons.

The Breathren Moons are moon-sized Necromorphs who created the Markers as bait for the little vermin species of the galaxy so they could accumulate their mass and add it to their own. They are fast enough to quickly travel the galaxy and can seemingly move at the same speeds as Dead Space starships, speeds of likely millions of times the speed of light.

In terms of abilities, they have galactic scale telepathy with which they use to communicate, they can absorb biological matter and have advanced minds of countless galactic cycles. They were also the creators of the Markers and the ones who gave them their abilities, suggesting they may have similar psionic abilities along with their telepathy.

They don't have many abilities but already MFTL+ Planetoid level entities with galactic telepathy, possibly mind manipulation and biological assimilation is tough threat. So what are the weaknesses?

The first weakness is their arrogance which can be combined with their size. The Brethren Moon are used to casually eating all biomass and would not fear another small vermin. The other weakness they have is the natural superadvanced technology of the verse, strong enought to affect the Brethren Moons. The Plot of Dead Space 3, involves Isaac using the Tau Volantis Aliens, an ancient race that frozen themselves on a planetary scale along with a Brethren Moon to give the next species in the galactic scale a way of defeating them. The verse has technology that can mine off whole continents from a planet, and can crack open a planet, and over the course of DS 3, Isaac using the verse's technology to perform the unprecedent feat of killing a Brethren Moon. As one was beat by freezing it with tech, putting it into a sleep, I think that Freezing, Sleep Manipulation or Technopathy are all legit ways to defeat the Brethren Moons.

So who would be a good counter? Well my first thought would be

Cirno from Touhou

Cirno scales to Moon Rabbits who regularly travel interstellar distances meaning she should be at least comparable in speed. While her power is a lot less, it really doesn't matter.

Cirno is a Fairy associated with Cold meaning she can regenerate so long as cold exists making her functionally immortal to the verse. She has freezing capabilities, and could likely danmaku her way into a Brethern Moon, freezing it's core putting it into a state of dormancy for a cosmic cycle.

But what about Marker control? Well Cirno scales in resistance to the True Moon which can control all humanity, a mind hax feat equal to the power of the Markers. Cirno could very likely resist the control of the Markers.

However what makes her an especially good pick is the Brethren Moons would greatly underestimate her. She looks non-threatening and she is weak compared to most of Gensokyo (though strong for a Fairy), so if the Brethren Moons tried to telepathically or by intelligence figure out her threat level, they would be think she is a weak entity and she could surprise freeze them. That said it would take her quite a while given her lack of area of effect compared to a Moon and they may be able to figure out a tactic. For a counter that could win quicker, you could use

SA-X from Metroid.

SA-X is a X-Virus fused with Samus' prior suit gaining her old abilities. This includes the ability to keep up with Gorea who quickly destroyed a galactic civilization and is far stronger then Aether Metroids who survived a portion of the energy of a planet level impact. This means while weaker, SA-X shouldn't be massively inferior to the Brethren Moons and equal in speed.

SA-X has the abilities of both the Varia Suit and the X-Parasite. The X-Parasite is the ultimate absorber, able to absorb and control biological matter and technology alike. They could beat the Brethren Moons at their own game, absorbing their biological matter as X spreads much faster then Necromorph Bacteria (X-Parasite also revives and keeps alive organic matter, so it can't be infected regardless) and use the native technology against the Brethern Moons in ways Isaac could only dream off.

SA-X also has access to the Varia Suit's including numerous sensors that can tell it information about the Brethren Moon and ice-based weapons that could freeze the Brethren Moons, including large stretches of them at once. It''s power bombs could also likely one-shot them as they can actually destroy planets themselves.

SA-X can infect Moon and advanced starship alike to spread at a massive rate, freezing the moons before absorbing the rest or blowing them up with more advanced bombs or turning the verse's planet cracking tech on them.

That said, it is still weaker then them in raw power, and could possibly be defeated by a combined assault, unlikely though that is. For the best counter, I would suggest

The Great Leviathan from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime.

The Great Leviathan was powerful enough to create a global storm calced at moon level and was relative to the Egyptian Gods who could fight Zorc who could create an eclipse, a planet level event. In speed, the Great Leviathan scales to regular duel spirits from the end of the universe giving it MFTL+ speeds. It would be able to match the Moons in stats.

The Great Leviathan can absorb energy, even the energy of the Gods, rising to their power level, a power beyond the Brethren Moons. More unconventionally it created the power of the Oricalchos which can steal souls, something nobody in the verse is resistant too.

More specifically the Leviathan can bind others using their sins. Leviathan is born of the rage and hatred of the verse. The Arrogance and lack of empathy of the Brethern Moons means they could not kill the Leviathan for it would feed on their sins. Leviathan could only be beaten by Yugi converting the darkness of humanity into light; finding redemption by convering the weakness of their sins into the strength of virtue. In the spiritually deprived verse of the Dead Space, a verse where humanity has fallen into corruption and the Brethren Moons, the rules of the verse, are ruled by arrogance and vice, the Leviathan would be in it's perfected form and totally invulnerable.

And that's how to be OP in Dead Space-verse.
