Worst 5 Installments from my favorite franchises

This is just a quick blog I wanted to make detailing what I think are some of the worst installements from some of my favorite franchises. The worst series contained within them. I'm making this mostly to show that a series can have something bad without taining everything about it.

(Dis-Honorable Mentions):

Magicka 2:
Magicka 2 is by far the best thing in this blog that said it was also the most disappointing for me. The story I didn't like at the time of release although since have come around on it, and the comedy is as good as ever. But the gameplay is so neutered; it used to really be skill based where if you were bad at the game your entire party would comedically wipe itself out hilariously and then when you got good at it you became an arcane god, the embodiment of what a wizard realistically and interestingly would be. Now Single-player is tediously hard and multiplayer it's a chore to lose.

Yes Pre Cure 5 Gogo:
My least favorite season of Pretty Cure. It's not bad though, it's just kinda bland like all the worst Pretty Cure Seasons are. It's the sequel season that killed off sequel seasons. When you have characters that already completed their character arcs what do you do in the sequel. You'd think a good writer would give them a new character arc that is a logical progression from the last one, an average writer would give one that is a different arc, and a bad one would give them the same arc. The writers for this season decided to go completely different path and just have it so no one progressed this season. Except for Milk, Milk's a lot better.

Freedom Force Comics:

I'm not a sense-based person, I'm an intuition based person. I don't often recognize whether something looks good or not. So if I can recognize the problem here it must be massive. The art of the FF comics is awful, that pic above is one of the least egregious examples. That said outside that the story is just fine...it's mostly just the cutscenes from the first game minus the fun parts where you actually play the game with your own Hero Squad, not sure what the point is unless you want to get the story faster then you would from playing the game.

Pyramid of Light movie:

Yeah this movie is pretty dumb and reads like a bad fanfiction. That said it's worst qualities are the flaws Yu-Gi-Oh! as a series already had just magnified so if you're already a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan you probably have at least some tolerance for this dumb stuff in this film. Plus I just really like the Yu-Gi-Oh! cast

Xiaolin Chronicles:

I've heard it's awful that said I disqualified on the simple basis that I haven't seen any of it.

Saint Seiya Netflix Series:

Same as above, I've heard it's terrible but I haven't seen any of it.

Onto the actual picks

5: Metroid: Other M:

Yes. Other M is only 5 on this list.

Metroid is probably overhated, there's obviously massively worse games out there. But it's so against the tone of Metroid for me and everything Metroid stands for. The gameplay is fine, pretty mediocre all things considered, but the story is really bad and for a series that has had such continuity until now, this felt bizarre and so out of place.

I'm not at all against the idea of Metroid wanting to explore Samus' character more or even her connection to her femininity. That said it's somehow both shallow and contradictory to the other games in execution.

4: Princess Tutu Manga

Imagine Princess Tutu but without the parts people liked about Princess Tutu. No Drosselmeyer, no symbolic or moral complexity, no metafictional storyline. It's like somebody was trying to make as general an mg series as they could. Every other bad series on this list I've seen I can at least sorta understand what they were going for. I have no idea what the appeal of this was supposed to be.

And the real kicker is they kept the dancing in, one of the more iconic elements of Princess Tutu. But if you're not seeing the problem yet....this is a manga. The dancing was impressive in Tutu because of it's graceful animation. In manga panels, you need to be an amazing artist to capture the flow and beauty of dance in manga panels...this does not do that.

3: PPG 2016:

Full disclosure, have only seen part of the series. I went back and forth on where to put this series from #5 and #2 so figured it belonged in the middle. It does have some surprisingly good episodes as well as some absolute terrible episodes so it average out at pretty bad. The characters have lost all agency and often it doesn't seem like it wants to be a superhero series; the characters are quite unlikeable especially the professor, the comedy is often childish gross-out. Episodes like Bubbles the Blue maybe surprisingly emotional, but exceptions don't disprove trends.

2: Cutie Honey-Tennyo Densetsu

I mostly made this blog to comment on this series because I had it to research. I love Cutie Honey but mostly for series outside the original manga, and certainly not for the sequels to the original manga. This series repeatedly plays sexual harrasment and assault towards males as a joke. There's one point where they legit discuss whether males can be raped, and it's not treated like definitely yes and it's just as bad. Honey says males can be raped, but it's treated as her being sweet and nice instead of you know, doing something what should be the normal decent thing. In case you're like "they didn't know any better, it was the 70s", this came out in 2003. I can understand the confusion given it looks like it came out in the 70s.

If that was one unfortunate thing in an otherwise good manga that would be one thing but it's not like the stories are amazing, it's just sort of middle of the road most of the time, even with a comedic style that normally would match what I like (outside the obvious.)

1: JLA Created Equal

I know there's worse DC comics out there, but this is the worst I've read. It's sad because the premise is a premise I usually tend to like. I like when stories focus on an artificial subset of the normal cast so you get to see character dynamics and interactions you normally wouldn't so a two-parter about what if there was only the women of the DC Earth, sounds like a cool idea. That said it's completely awful to read. We all have different positive values, things we look for in fiction but we also all have different negative values, things we value avoiding in fiction. For me "annoying political tract" is right up there in negative values, second only to gross-out. This is primarily the former with a bit of the latter for flavor I guess.

This is a heavily political story but funny enough I get the feeling it doesn't matter what side you're on, as you'll probably find something to be insulted by. The plot is a cosmic plague comes and kills everyone with an XY chromosome, except Superman because of his powers and Lex Luthor who sealed himself in a vault, and there's this subplot of Superman's seed being used to create a new race of superchildren that kill people with their temper tantrums....it's really stupid.

Oh and apparently with no men around women will make some kind of socialist pseudo-utopia beacuse women are apparently all socialist-leaning and also pure paragons apparently. And then Lex Luthor recruits the male children to rise up against their female oppressors with male stereotypes and...and we're just getting further away from anything cool you can do with this concept. Beyond that, men are treated like violent brutes and women as peaceful incompent damsals without them. Just watch the Justice League episode "Fury." Same type of premise, but done 1,000,000 times better.

Strongest Character for each of my favorite verses

Just something I wanted to have on hand and so decided to post it as a blog. This it the strongest character in each of my favorite verses. Most of these I don't think will be particularly controversial although if there's any asterisk to it, I'll be sure to mention it.

Axis Powers Hetalia: Presumably Russia as the largest country who is the physically strongest and with the largest amount of odd abilities. On the geo-political stage America and China both have more politial power then Russia does today, as do arguably several other countries but I'm not sure how political power correlates to power in Hetalia, if it does literally speaking at all.

Bayonetta: I think of the gods Omne is supposed to be the strongest as the fusion of the power of Heaven and Hell although you could probably make an argument for any of the other god tiers; Jubileus, Aesir, Queen Sheba

Cardcaptor Sakura: Sakura herself

Commedia: God

Cutie Honey: Witch Zora

Danny Phantom: Probably Pariah Dark, although if you count temporary equipment Freakshow with the Reality Gauntlet is probably the strongest

DC Comics: That's complicated as there was initially a single unified being that broke into aspects; Basically The Source/Void/God/Presence are all one in this being

Freedom Force: Energy X, probably. Energy X has no demonstrations of power but seems to have given Time Master and Entropy the two god tiers their powers.

God of War: Odin is implied to be stronger then Zeus although whether this is base Zeus or Fear Zeus is yet to be seen, also Power of Hope Kratos might still be stronger, so it's either Power of Hope Kratos, Zeus, or possibly the Norns although not much is known about them at the moment.

Magic Knight Rayearth: Combined Rayearth, although if you don't count fusions, then the Creator would be strongest.

Magicka: Assatur by hype is the strongest, although that's in terms of raw power (stated by Fafnir he would be by far the strongest being Midgard had ever known despite being weakened) and in Magicka skill in spellcasting is also a major factor so you could argue one of the other big names could beat him

Metroid: Full Power PED Suit Samus seems to be the strongest version of Samus and is stronger then any of her enemies

Okami: Full Power Amaterasu

Ouran High School Host Club: Honey-senpai

Over the Garden Wall: The Beast

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt: Judgement

Pretty Cure: Probably Miden after absorbing all the memories of all the Pretty Cure. If not Miden it's one of the other Crossover film villains presumably.

Princess Tutu: Drosselmeyer

Puella Magi Madoka Magicka: Obviously it's either Kami Madoka or Akuma Homura, who are stated to have the exact same power. I think it depends on if they're in-character or not.

Sailor Moon: Sailor Cosmos. Cosmos and Chaos seem to be implied to be even, but I think Cosmos is narratively treated as stronger, since Chaos failed in her goal to break Cosmos' after Cosmos saw the determination of her past self.

Saint Seiya: Primordial Chronos.

Shamanic Princess: Tiara, Post-Demiurgic Fusion

The Powerpuff Girls: Bad Timeline HIM. I debated that Gnomey after absorbing all the heroes and villains powers might be stronger but the PPG were able to take take attacks from Gnomey, while HIM taked their attacks in the bad timeline.

The Stanley Parable: Essence of Divine Art, probably. Female Narrator views Narrator as a character like he views Stanley so it might be her, but the Essence seems more transcendent in-universe being fused with the esence of being.

Tokyo Mew Mew: Deep Blue

Undertale: Annoying Dog

Wander over Yonder: Miss Myrtle, although you could make argue the celestial being from ep 1 is stronger but Myrtle seems more consistent in-universe as being the strongest since she seemingly created the cosmos which would include the celestial being.

Xiaolin Showdown: Using just original series it's obviously Grandmaster Dashi.

xxxHolic: Sakura due to her brief appearence would be strongest. In terms of xxxHolic's normal cast, it would be Yuuko although Yuuko and Fei Wong Reed seem to be considered rivals in terms of ability and he also shows up several times.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Prime Raizen

Yu-Gi-Oh! In the original manga it's Ra-Horakthy, the Creator

Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Presumably it's Divine Mankai Yuna

Yu Yu Hakusho Quick Scaling

Was talking about YYH the other day and it came up briefly that it would be helpful if I made a blog like this. I'm not an expert at YYH but I like it a lot, so I figured I'd make a quick blog on YYH's scaling as far as I know.

Seperating this 3 categories; manga low-ball (what I think is safe to assume, what I generally use), manga high-ball (what people think is likely, but is not a "safe" assumption), and anime scaling.

Manga Low-Ball:

Lower E Class: Start of series Yusuke was able to put Kuwabara's head through cement

Lower D Class: Gouki can easily cut a tree in half and has skin stated to be as hard as steel (At least wall, calced to megajoules.) Yusuke at this point fired his Spirit Gun fast enough that it went through Byakko's head faster then his body could react and lower from the wound, calced at being just over the speed of sound.

Lower C Class: Byakko can pulverize stone segments with his shout calced over 5 gigajoules, large building level

Mid C Class: Seiryu striked Byakko 100 times in a second calced between roughly Mach 6 and Mach 9. Hiei then blitzed him striking him 16 times in a second with precise sword slices calced between Mach 29 and Mach 39.

Upper C Class: Suzaku and Yusuke's final clash destroys the dome building they were in, calced at around 26 Gigajoules (large building level) , which would be 13 each although Suzaku is likely more then 2.6 times Byakko's strength

Mid B Class: Yusuke's cuffed Spirit Gun into the sky was calced to over 3 megatons, consistent with Young Genaki being B Class and being able to destroy a "mountain." Yusuke's cuffed spirit gun rose into the sky at speeds somewhere between Mach 150 and Mach 430.

Upper B Class: Yusuke's Final Dark Tournament Spirit Gun tore up kilometers of forest and water calced to over 45 megatons, which final form Toguro just managed to block barely.

Upper A Class: It is directly stated Upper A Classes can destroy countries. This is consistent with King Enma being stated to create a volcanic eruption and devastation on the Earth unlike any better

Low S Class: Sensui destroys Beheading Hill, a plateau in Demon World dwarfing structures that contain mountains, calced into the teraton range, with the casual shockwaves of his attacks. A more recent calc suggested that they may have reached Mach 5000 and low petatons in this fight.

Manga High-Ball:

Add to the above any feats you think are reasonable:

Lower C Class: Byakko's shout is implied to destroy things on a molecular level, which was calced to over 100 tons of tnt (Multi-City Block Level.)

Upper C Class: It is contextually implied that Suzaku and Yusuke's final clash was far faster and was thus far more energetic calced to hundreds of tons of tnt based on the fact that the brainwashed humans were unable to hurt Keiko despite being mid-attack (Multi-City Block Level.) Suzaku uses lightning based attacks including calling them from down on the sky yet Yusuke can react to them.

Low S Class: Sensui claimed that even a fraction of his power would put too much pressure on the planet, Genkai claimed she could not stop Yusuke from destroying the planet if he wanted, comparing the possibility to a kid destroying a toy. This has been argued as everything from continental to planetary.

Anime Feats:

Feel free to use anime versions if you prefer. All of the above is there as well as the following:

Lower C Class: Rando vaporized a pool of water in the anime calced to just over 1 kiloton (town level.)

Upper C Class: Yusuke has far more clear lightning timing against Suzaku in the anime.

Mid B Class: The Dragon of the Darkness Flame in the anime caused massive damage to the island the DT was on, calced as hundreds of gigatons (high island level). Hiei later uses this on unarmored Bui who catches it, and absorbs it himself.

Low S Class: Yusuke's Spirit Gun during his fight with Sensui in the anime destroys a demon world plateau dwarfing a 2 kilometer portal, calced into the exaton range, which would be planetoid level.

Upper S Class: The final attack of Yusuke in the anime has been calced by a few sources to reach planetary levels of energy and relativistic speed.

A few other mild notes off the top of my head:

Skill:

In the anime Kibano claimed to be the master of every martial art, a Low A Level (superhuman) skill feat. While not everyone who's stronger then Kibano would be as skilled as him, it's pretty clear contexually that Kibano isn't some high mark of skill, particularly considering Yusuke during Genkai's Tournament seemed relative or superior to him in skill.

Even in the manga the characters are probably superhuman in skill, as the verse is filled with demon fighters, demons often having ages centuries old and constantly fighting, consistent with several displays of unrealistically impossible fighting ability such as Kurama being able to proficiently his rose whip with his hair.

Astral Combat:

Combat in Yu Yu Hakusho is on the astral plane. This doesn't come up often in the series since basically everyone in the series is spiritually aware but demons and spirits are invisible to human eyes (also seem to be impercetible to their other senses) and intangible with Toguro and Hiei destroying evil ghosts with their auras and Yusuke being implied to be able to erase a soul.

How well would the protags of my favorite series do in DC Comics

DC Comics, arguably the largest meta-franchise in history and one of my favorite series. I wanted to make a fun blog on how each of my favorite protagonists would do in the verse and how they would fit in if their story was added to the verse. This is each character at their strongest.

Civilian Tier:

At the bottom of the power hierarchy are civilian tier characters who probably don't make any kind of signifigant change to the verse. Haruhi Fujioka, Wirt from Over the Garden Wall and Stanley from the Stanley Parable all are normal humans in universe and while they may actually possess feats, these feats are not outside the range of normal humans. Wirt's story might impact the verse a bit differnet if you think his visit to the Unknown means he would have tapped into the Collective Unconciousness although given any manipulation of the collective unconciousness was entirely subconcious, it's unlikely this would change much.

Dante's a bit more interesting. While physically his stats would also be in this tier, Dante after his purification was able to fly to the Center of Heaven rapidly, a feat even conservatively using the Dantean cosmology's most conservative estimate would be faster then light, although lacking any offensive feats it's unlikely he could do much with such speed. More interesting is that if one were to equivocate verses Dante basically went into and saw The Source. Assuming he actually remembers the experience, this would be incredibly important information in the universe, possibly a key to unlocking the Life or Anti-Life Equations.

Warrior Tier:

Above the tier of actual civilians, you have actual warriors in the DC context which scale fodder wall level feats like Atlanteans surviving the pressure of the Deep Ocean or Ams-Fall-Off-Boy surviving a wall level explosion.

I think Yugi Muto would physically be at this tier, as he was able to leap very high into the sky and in the Millennium World, Yami Yugi survived a magic attack from a powerful evil sorcerer that could destroy large sections of stone at once. That said Yami Yugi would be pretty hax for this tier given his magical abilities.

There's a lot more magical spellcasters in the DC Universe that could help restore Yami Yugi's memories, and would be prone to do so to help ward against Zorc returning. This is especially because in a the Wizard Shazam would have become Pharaoh of Egypt about 2 years after Yami Yugi being sealed away with Zorc, and so Shazam would be well away then Yami Yugi and Zorc's conflict. I could very well see Shazam using his magic to try and help stop Zorc's return. On the other hand, while the Millennium Items aren't that potent compared to most DC magical items, I could very well see a lot of DC magic-users especially the more low tier ones trying to get their hands on them for their abilities and connection to Zorc's magic.

Vigilante Tier:

The vigilante tier contains most of the bigger name street tiers of DC, the A and B list street level heroes. There's a few characters I think would be in this tier.

Cutie Honey from the original manga kinda lacks feats to really compete with big names but she should be able o fight on the lower range of this tier and more important is the Airborne Element Fixing Device, a device capable of creating "anything" by altering the air molecules around it which would be pretty helpful even in DC. That said I honestly think Honey would have a lot easier time of things in DC, as the main reason Panther Claw is such a threat is the Cutie Honey universe is that only Honey can really oppose them. In a world of rival super crime organizations as strong as theirs and vigilante superheroes all over the place, Panther Claw might have a lot less opportunity to go after Honey. Honey would most likely help out every now and again when there's a big crime organization to bust, especially if Panther Claw, the murderers of her father, are involved but for the most part she would have it a lot easier.

I think Princess Tutu would be somewhere in this tier. That said if the basic story of PT is kept consistent, then it would have to massively upscale Duck. That's because she was able to purify the story from Drosselmeyer who had attained similar to Fakir enlightenment and become controller of the story on a metafictional level, a level which has a lot stronger implications in DC comics, similar to the run of Animal Man where he attains enlightenment and begins metafictionally warping the story. Assuming Duck remains at her current level of power she'd be around here.

I think the Player Wizard from Magicka would probably be around here. The Wizard has great destructive power although I don't think more then someone like, say, Deathstroke could handle. And while the Wizard has a lot of broken magical abilities the character of the wizards is a lot more goofy which would balance it. At will resurrection could be a pretty major trick however. I also wonder if the Player Wizard would have some connection to the Elemental Parliments. This wouldn't really give any boost in power since people can have varying degrees of connection to the Elemental Parliments, but it does suggest the Wizard might gain some interesting "social" connections to the elemental world.

I think Mew Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew would be on the higher range of this tier able to boost into the Metahuman tier briefly with Mew Aqua. Mew Aqua, while it probably wouldn't be as broken in DC as it would be in Marvel since less DC characters seem to have gotten their powers from having their biology changed, the ability to restore things to their natural state would still be pretty strong. Given the Mew Mews environmental savior bents, I could see her interacting with people like Poison Ivy and Ra's Al-Ghul.

Metahuman Tier:

The Tier for the mid tier Earth metahumans. There's a bunch of characters I think would fit here.

Panty Anarchy likely be here given the feats of the Anarchy Sisters include things like running around the world and being sneezed out by the Moon. Panty doesn't have a lot of abilities but her passive supernatural luck is a pretty good one. Given Panty's....personality, I can easily see her getting into arguments with a large number of superheroes though she may try to play nice considering the amount of attractive ones there are. Her guns only would really help against supernatural enemies though she is physically strong enough to defeat most street crime without them.  Also Panty might at some point get a Violet Lantern Ring depending on interpretation.

Man-Bot from Freedom Force would seem to be a relatively normal Metahuman tier entity having stats mostly on par with Post-Crisis era Cyborg. That said he contains within him the infinite energy of Energy X which when unleashed can harm multiversal entities like Entropy and Time Master and power the Celestial Clock which provides all time in the multiverse, even if he can't really control it. Man-Bot probably acts as a fairly normal DC heroic ally, with someone like Batman maybe keeping his full capacity as a secret contingency against a multiversal entity. Energy X may start bestowing superpowers on new individuals although this is barely noticed in DC.

Feliciano Vargas from Hetalia is the embodiment of the Northern Half of Italy. I can't see him getting involved in any big conflicts willingly given his personality. Hilariously he may have massively more power in the DCU due to his status as a nation giving him access to the collective unconcious.

If Danny Phantom was in DC, He'd be around the Metahuman tier clearly. It would actually fit pretty well, with the Ghost Zone being a local emanation of the Underworld otherwise known as the "Phantom Zone." Danny, particularly if he grows up, would likely join the Justice League Dark for his occult-type powers and similarity power-wise to Deadman.

Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho would similarly be in the high metahuman tier, but below the cosmic tier heroes outside of a particular interpretation that would suggest he's planet level. Spirit World and Demon World don't fit very naturalistically into DC's cosmology, but Yusuke would probably be fine helping with spiritual incidents on Earth.

Lower Tier Flashpoint Cosmic Heroes:

This is about the tier where the planetary heroes start, the level of young kryptonians in Post-Crisis or Post-Flashpoint continuities. The characters here would be able to fight a Kryptonian (though not one of the big name ones) and able to fight lower end cosmic heroes.

Similarly to above, Yuki Yuna is a Hero doesn't fit well in DC's cosmology since it takes place after an apocalypse, unless you say it's an alternate timeline. Hero Yuna would probably be able to fight a low tier kryptonian given she can destroy a Moon-Sized Vertex and her forcefield has the power of Shinju. She would probably be pretty similar to Booster Gold if she found her way into the Mainline DC universe with her forcefield strength vastly exceeding her attack power, though less versatile. Technically Yuna's Divine Mankai would be far higher, but that form is arguably a fusion of her and a seperate entity, the Divine Shinju. I will put where I think Divine Mankai Yuna would be.

Samus Aran I think would be around here, being on the level of "normal" Kryptonians or Galactic Conquerors like Lord Helspont. It's important to note that Metroid takes place in the far future which isn't a problem, but it does change who she would naturaly be interacting with. Full Phazon PED Suit Samus would be able to compete with most teen cosmic-type heroes.

Omi from Xiaolin Showdown would also probably be here given Chase Young with his essence was able to casually split the Earth in two. The hunt for the Sheng Gong Wu would be a lot harder in DC with various magical factions probably hunting them for their own purposes. I think Omi given his dediction to his training could possibly get a lot stronger in DC via training with people like Karate Kid. XS's cosmology is fairly non-intrustive and can very easily fit with DC Comic's.

Tiara would likely become a lot stronger if she was in DC but this is where I think she would be conservatively if her power level remained the same as the Throne of Yord can maintain worlds. However the Throne of Yord is the Demiurge, the false god that created material existence to escape it's sense of loneliness. In DC the Demiurge is SYNNAR, so it's a very different sense of scale. Given the Throne of Yord mostly communicates in the forms of dreams, I think a more naturalistic fitting of Tiara into DC would be to say the Throne of Yord was a member of the court of Dream of the Endless that during the time of Morpheus' disappereance created it's own dream-reality to alleviate it's sense of loneliness.

Mid to High Tier Flashpoint Cosmic Heroes/Low to Mid Tier Post-Crisis Cosmic Heroes:

Moving onto the higher tier cosmic heroes, this covers the strongest of Earth's defenders in the Post-Flashpoint continuity and the general range of cosmic heroes. There doesn't seem to be a massive gap in power between these two tiers and there's only one protag at this level.

Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls would be roughly in this tier, physically closer to the Mid Tier Flashpoint Cosmic Heroes and Low Tier Post-Crisis Cosmic Heroes, although she has relatively strong abilities like time travel, invisibility, and duplication such that I think she would more likely fit as a high tier Flashpoint Cosmic Hero and a Mid Tier Post-Crisis Cosmic Hero. I think some of the heroes would be a bit hesistant to bring Blossom with them as they would worry about potentially endangering the life of a child which was a similar concern for Billy Batson, though similarly she would probably earn the respect enough to allow it. Blossom's time travel would be a very helpful ability although DC time travel is kind of dangerous what with the possibility of altering the timeline in bad ways. I think if she existed in DC there would be a lot more attempts to recreate chemical or antidote x and I could maybe see Blossom particularly if she does age, eventually mentoring a group of new chemical x beings as part of a new super-team.

High Tier Post-Crisis Cosmic Heroes/Low Tier Pre-Crisis Heroes:

At this level you have the level of the galactic defenders. I think Wander from Wander over Yonder would fit in this tier. Now he's very much NOT a fighter, but there's plenty of DC alien species that could nonethless use the helping held of a star nomad. More then literal cosmological coherence, I think Wander fits the tone of DC Comics a lot with his idealism. It's very likely he would eventually become temporarily or not an Indigo Lantern, a Lantern of compassion. If this is in the Pre-Crisis continuity where Lantern sectors covered the universe, Wander and Sylvia would likely get reinforcements from their sector's Green Lantern against the mass of supervillains that inhabit the Yonder Galaxy.

Amaterasu from Okami would likely be here, although her true godly form would likely be vastly stronger, one of the lords of Skylands in DC. Having such a massive cosmic importance as source of life it's likely she would become central to a few magic events in DC, and her ability and mission to bring blossoming and prosperity back to the world would be helpful against cosmic events that devastate the Earth. In Post-Crisis it would be both cool and in-character if Amaterasu fought alongside Wonder Woman adn then used her divine nature to grant Diana more power, as Diana gets her power from the gods favor. Amaterasu may also be able to strenghen Superman as her power is the Sun's.

Mid Tier Pre-Crisis Heroes Tier:

So there's no really anyone I would say is really on par with Mid Tier Pre-Crisis Heroes, so I'm mostly using this for characters with power on that level, but without speed comparable to Pre-Crisis level characters. Their are general universal warping characters across DC continuities that mostly don't move while fighting or have no real speed feats so those are about this tier. Divine Mankai Yuna would be probably be here due to the fight against the Heavenly Gods.

Hikaru with Rayearth was able to resist the power of Divine Mokona who created the universes and their laws, so I imagine she could give someone like Blackstarr at least a run for her money, and if the other Rune Gods were there, might be able to win. Hikaru's story is mostly completely fine to have happened in DC although Mokona creating the universe would cause some contradictions. That said Hikaru being able to fight as a regular Vigilante and summon Rayearth from another dimension should all be fine.

Frisk from Undertale is a bit weird, in that Frisk's durability is really high to the point of surviving battles with cosmic reality-warpers but it's hard to say what Frisk's attack potency with or without determination unless you say "well...Frisk can do a little damage to Asriel" and the like. Via Metafictional SAVE and LOAD, Frisk could be quite relevant in terms of power during any period really, particularly via teamwork with other heroes since Frisk can act with basically perfect knowledge. Undertale's story works completely fine in the DCU, as there are civilizations of non-humans living underground, and the human soul is DC is very often implied or shown to have cosmic levels of power. Frisk maybe gets a Green Lantern Ring, although I'm not sure Frisk would really want to use it unless need be.

Bayonetta would be on this level as well, given her fight Jubileus and Aesir, at least probably. Bayonetta's cosmology would be massively upscaled if it was fit into DC due to the differing nature of Heaven and Hell and how strong the forces of Heaven and Hell would have to be. While literally speaking there's cosmological differences, thematically Bayonetta fits with DC really well with the theme that humans are the chaos formed of light and darkness between Heaven and Hell, something that has also been stated in DC Comics.

Watanuki from xxxHolic as Dimensional Sorcerer Watanuki with the powers of Yuuko would probably be around the level of someone like Zatanna or similar powerful reality-warping magicians in DC. Watanuki's subtle time magic from scaling would be both a relatively distinct but also fitting ability in DC Comics. That said all the Clamp verses have a rule that people can't be resurrected which contradicts DC pretty heavily.

Cure Black would be a relatively simple Brick in Pre-Crisis DC given she's fought and beaten numerous universe threatening evils. She seriously lacks abilities but has a few resistances and can get into a friendly brawl with some of the Pre-Crisis physical threats.

High Crisis Pre-Crisis Cosmic Heroes Tier to Lords of Order/Chaos/Fourth World Tier:

Technically 3 distinct tiers, there is signifigant overlap between the universal cosmic power houses with strong abilities from the Pre-Crisis era, the spiritual complete reality-warping forces that have waged war over the destiny of the multiverse the Lords of Order and the Lords of Chaos and the conceptual forces presiding over the lower planes of reality with esoteric hax and abilities called the Fourth World. Generally the High Tier Pre-Crisis Cosmic Heroes could fight on par with lower bound Lords of Order and Chaos and High Tier Lords of Order and Chaos could threaten even the fourth world. It's a range that covers things massively above universal to infinite multiversal.

Sailor Moon, my favorite character, would probably be here and what I think is interesting is she would be at two seperate points. As Eternal Sailor Moon she would arguably be in the Pre-Crisis Cosmic Heroes tier though her speed is still low for it. As Sailor Cosmos she would arguably be a Lord of Order, albeit not a particularly strong one. Sailor Moon cosmology would be weird to fit into DC since Chaos essentially has the same concept as the Primal Monitor with the difference in power only really arising from difference in cosmology sizes. The Silver Millennium is probably viewed as a contempary kingdom to Atlantis and Themiscrya, and the Cosmos Crystal is probably interpreted as having some relation to Kismet who is literally the DC Universe. What's more relevant probably then Usagi's raw power is that she will literally just resurrect things. Blackest Night event and Injustice Event never happen because anyone who is killed is just resurrected by the Silver Crystal, let alone the fact that Usagi can make everyone on Earth immortal. She's also famous for her charisma and ability to redeem people, and I think could probably redeem some of the more emotionally unstable DC villains like Superboy Prime. That said Usagi isn't a fighter fundamentally, and without need to fight directly probably chooses to act more like support for the other superheroes of the DC Universe. She's one of the strongest magicians and can give the top tier magic-users a run for their money, but is eclipsed by some in experience, versatility and raw magical power.

Pegasus Seiya with his Divine Cloth would definitely be on par with some of their really high Pre-Crisis Powerhouses physically and while he doesn't neccesarily have that many offensive haxes, he has a lot of resistances and an incredible ability to gain resistances after they're used on him similar to Doomsday. He probably would have a similar place power-wise as a Pre-Crisis Kryptonian as a tank for the heroes. There are some differences in depiction between the DC and SS gods, though given Darkseid and Highfather both have their own mortal chmapions and guards, I could pretty easily see the Greek Gods doing similar with the Saints of Athenas, Mariners of Poseidon, Spectres of Hades and so on. Most likely Seiya would interact a lot with Wonder Woman and Shazam, who are around the same level of power as Seiya due to their shared interactions with the Greek Pantheon. Seiya might be higher with the Amaterasu Cloth, I don't know enough about that scaling.

Madoka would probably fit really well in as a god of the fourth world, conceptual entities from the realm beyond the physical. It's actually really easy to put Madoka in the DCU (outside of the question why no one else interacted to stop Walpurgisnacht or interact with the Incubators.) Logically Madoka would probably reside in Heaven although I personally would probably suggest she's within Dream because that just seems to fit the feel more with Gemworld already having a magical girl and the like. But yeah Madoka is one of the easiest to translate, she is essentially a being of the Fourth World, the archetypal world of concepts.

Kratos would probably be around the tier of the lords of order, although whether he can affect them depends on which one. Fitting into the cosmology would be difficult however as he killed the gods that are very much alive and they have very different personalities in God of War. I think since Ragnarok was the death of the third world, the same ragnarok going on in the new God of Wars, I think you could say Kratos' cosmology is during the time of the old gods during the third world. Kratos as he is now wouldn't change up the comology too much as he's found peace and mostly just wants to be left alone, that said peak Kratos during the greek time was full of vengeance against the gods and his rage may cause signifigant problems as he's strong enough to be able to contend with at least one of the big name Pre-Crisis Cosmic Heroes if not more.

Cardcaptor Sakura is interesting because unlike the prior four who all fight on higher planes of existence, Sakura doesn't really fight on a higher plane of reality, she just has really strong magic. Like it's raw magical power equal to True Dr. Fate but possesed by a young girl without that much magic experience. The closest equivalent I think would be the teenage Timothy Hunter, whose propesized to become the new merlin, the greatest magician of his era and has enormous potential but lacks in the finesse. The two are actually very comparable capabity wise and have somewhat similar feats so I think that's a good gauge for how well Sakura would do. Sakura might struggle with all the non-magical type powers running around in the DCU as Clamp mages tend to have very high resistance to magic but not as much raw physical durability that said in an actual magic fight Sakura would have enormous power and would be very helpful for the heroes.

That's about where it ends, above this is the fifth world entities which is the cut off point.

Top 10 episodes of Dexter's Laboratory

So I just finished the last episode of Dexter's Laboratory, a very well acclaimed cartoon. In celebration of that I decided to make a top 10 episodes list of it, based on my personal opinion. I considered 27 different eps for this list but here's what I got it down too.

10: A Tribe Called Girl (10c)

In this ep Dexter inflitrates Dee Dee's room to study girls which he treats as an unknown animal species after he sees Dee Dee and her friends acting in a way that resembles monkeys. This really suits my comedic tastes being jokes related to the genders and a character taking things vastly too seriously. It's funny seeing Dexter interpret each act of Dee Dee and her friends as the rough animal equivalent like arguing over who was sleeping where as a territorial debate.

9: Aye Aye Eyes (40a)

Another example of character takes thing too dramatically type humor. One of the things that I think is distinctive about season 2 Dexter is how heroic he acts. This ep starts with him going out of his way to return a stuffed bunny to a silent giant-eyed little girl who becomes obsessed with him after. While he tries the whole ep to get rid of her at no point is there one of those unpleasent scenes where he breaks her heart to try to go away. It's just funny overacting to this little girl staring at him, and the end of the ep is quite funny and relatable regardless. In another ep of the show there was a song virus that was supernaturally impossible to resist from how catchy it was yet the song in this ep is even more catchy imo. What I'm trying to say is I liked the aye eye eye song.

8: D & DD (16a)

I haven't played much RPGs but I've dabbled a bit in this and I thought this was actually a very good episode about the topic. It's clear the writers for this ep actually knew what it was like to the point that Dexter named his overpowered PC "Gygax." I really liked the lesson that it doesn't matter how epic and grand your storytelling is if the players aren't enjoying themselves. I think this is something that can be applied more generally too, that person experience is more important then abstract quality.

7: Star Spangled Sidekicks (7a)

I tend to like the superhero eps of shows and this is a good example of one, particularly seeing Dexter and Dee Dee's different ideas of what a superhero is. Dex-Starr was a more capable fighter then Diva Dynamite, using advanced technology and clearing out a room of bad guys by himself, but his reasoning was wrong and partly for show while Diva Dynamite was fighting for the right reasons, which is what made the difference.

6: Morning Stretch (17c)

This is a classic sci-fi high concept ep, and those are great. Dexter wakes up and thinks he is running late for school with only a minute to prepare activates a time dilation helmet. The problem is in this ep the physics of superspeed are actually applied realistically causing major problems with him trying to get ready. It's a cool concept, it's applied well, it's fun to watch but also makes you think.

5: Last But Not Beast (52)

This seems to be the most iconic and well liked ep of the series so instead of explaining why it's number 5 I probably have to justify why it's ONLY number 5. This episode is great for reasons I think most people who have seen the series know, it's got an epic battle, good jokes, Dexter's family getting involving in saving the world, the Justice Friends fully working together, Monkey and Dexter working together, random people in Japan having mecha etc. Due to the layout of the ep it sorta requires Badaxtra to fodderize the Justice Friends, and the ep is a bit comfy with being irreverent for my taste (such as having the growing superhero grow to maxium size only for Badaxtra to still be larger and just flick him away or Dexter to talk about how they can win with teamwork only for it to cut to Dee Dee asleep at her position who wakes up saying paraphrased "yeah, sure, teamwork, whatever." but these are relatively small points overall.

4: Go, Dexter Family! Go! (64b)

This episode starts with Dexter bemoaning that he has a normal family and thinking he didn't need them when they're abducted by aliens so they can use his genius brain for their own purposes. The whole episode is Dexter's family breaking Dexter out of his containment and the 4 of them breaking free of the alien ship. It's heartwarming, awesome and unironically more anime then the anime villain in the episode before it. You have the return of the Go Dexter's family Go! theme from Last But Not Beast, and there are good moments for each member of Dexter's family. The two episodes honestly feel connected with this ep basically just being a concentrated focus on my favorite part from Last But Not Beast.

3: Way of the Dee Dee (10a)

This episode involves Dee Dee trying to change Dexter from what she views as his shut-in life and enlightening him. The two exist on an archetypal spectrum of systemizing vs empathizing that is consistent through the episode with things like Dexter talking about a flower in terms of classification vs Dee Dee talking about it in terms of how it looks and how it smells. Much of it is the tragedy of what happens when you try to make something be what it's not and this is the only time I recall when Dee Dee shows remorse for the destruction she causes because Dexter is the one doing it in imitation of her so it's projected outside of herself causing her to tearfully apologize for turning him from a "quiet creator" to a "destroyer." The ep is really archetypal and really interesting I think.

2: Lab of the Lost (19c)

When I started making this list I thought this was going to be the first place. This is another very archetypal episode; Dexter representing the cold ambition that pushes towards the future and doesn't care about sentiment. Dexter gets lost in a older forgotten part of the lab and is attacked by his older inventions for not caring about them and is only saved by his first invention. The episode is meaningful and conveys much about Dexter's character and the type of person that archetype fits. There's a really great moment where the older inventions say "we were your greatest invention once too" in understandable anger that he just completely forgot the emotion and sentiment invested in them. This episode is somehow both overstated and understated in it's message, conveying explictly and implictly an important message on not just constantly moving on to your next ambition but taking time to remember the things that used to be important to you and the value they might bring.

1: Dyno-Might (51a)

This is yet another archetypal type episode. Dyno-Mutt, the bumbling but lovable sidekick robotic dog to the superhero the Blue Falcon is damaged trying to protect the Blue Falcon who asks Dexter to repair him. Without mentioning it to the Blue Falcon, Dexter turns his nose up at the bumbling goofy robot dog and instead rebuilds a stronger more serious Dyno-Mutt which becomes a menance enforcing strict and tyrannical order capturing both Dexter and the Blue Falcon, leaving the comical antics of the original Dyno-Mutt to stop his dark counterpart. This episode I think is the perfect episode of Dexter's lab for me. It has the references I like including interesting science-fiction concepts and superheroes, Dexter is clearly on the side of justice but in his archetypal-ness has a fitting weakness, and it conveys a message through it's wholesomeness. It's so in-character for Dexter to look at this silly dog who makes dumb jokes and acts like a goof and thinks he can just be replaced by a dog whose bigger and efficient and futuristic but he didn't see he was creating without the heart of Dyno-Mutt. Dexter throughout the series represents futuristic and rationalism and in his pursuit of advancement and rationality he neglected the importance of the soul, of the emotional component of a being attached to the world. This is an episode that is great on it's own and puts in sharper focus a lot of the others episodes in the series as Dexter's tragic conflict to advance the world for good or ill despite his lack of deeper understanding of it. For an ep to be not just good but to retroactively and proactively cast the rest of the series in a new and positive light is one of the great commendations that can be given to it.

Shugo Chara-verse Strategy Guide

How to be OP in Shugo Chara

Local Scale Threat:

Sometimes we are one person on the outside that others know, and a different person inside. Who are these other us? All children have in the hearts the heart's egg, an egg containing their potential and dreams, within resides a fairy called a Guardian Character, the person they want to be. If the emotion and desire to be them is strong enough, the Guardian Character can manifest to the person to guide them to their dream, or even fuse with the in a process known as "Character Transformation."

The verse's fighters are the organization called Easter and their rivals the Elementary school age "Guardians" who use the power of their Guardian Characters to protect the dreams of children.

Most of the cast are at least upper wall level. This comes from feats like early Amu jumping far above every building in their city and destroying some human sized robots, and the characters not being much weaker then the stronger fighters. The stronger fighters are likely in the low building range coming from Tadase's forcefield "Holy Crown" being able to catch a falling helicopter and Death Rebel being able to do signifigant damage to an amusent park with singular attacks. Amu also claims at one point that her newfound strength makes her feel light as a feather, which is probably a figure of speech but if literal would basically just support the characters being at low building level.

In terms of speed, the characters are subsonic speed. There are numerous gag feats of characters moving as blurs that would likely be subsonic and the guardian characters who are absolutely not powerhouses alone can move as blurs as well. Also Kairi without even using character transformation is able to attack with a sword fast enough there appeared to be many swords at once, yet Amu was able to dodge them all at close range and Amu and Uatu were able to catch up to a helicopter. The verse's speed might be higher as Utau somehow traveled from Hawaii to Japan in a not massive timeframe, but the mechanism is unknown as is the exact timeframe.

The verse has x-eggs, which are heart's eggs corrupted by a person giving up their dreams and their inner self. The guardian characters inside become small imp-ish creatures that can manipulate the heart's eggs, repeatedly referred to as the soul of the person, and can transmute entitites like turning a dog into a evil wolf capable of fighting Amu transformed.

These are stopped by the Guardians, an elementary school council of magic-wielding heroes using the power of the characters to purify the x-eggs back into vibrant heart's eggs and protect the dreams of children. At any time there's 4 members; the king, queen, jack, and the ace, as well as sometimes the returning graduated members when the younger members need help. Their character changes gives them access to enhanced versions of mundane abilities like a superhuman sense of someone's character, able to read their true nature. Each member has unique powers related to what they wished to be.

Kukai wished to be a sports star and so can fuse with guardian character Daichi to become physically proficient at all sports. The immature Yaya wished to be adored and get her parents attention like her baby brother so she can fuse with Pepe to get childish powers as Dear Baby like summoning and controlling a swarm of rubbie duckies whose power was able to stop the aforementioned x-egg wolf, and can induce sleep with the technique "Merry Merry." Rima the serious never-smiling little girl wished to be able to make her parents smile again and show her silly side can fuse with the clownish Kusokuso to get circus performer abilities as Clown Drop like tieing enemies up with a tightrope and expert juggling abilities. Kairi who was a bookish nerdy type wished to be strong and to protect the weak fused with Musashi to become the great samurai Samurai Soul who can imbue his blade with lightning. The androgynous Nagi developed the incredible condition of having two guardian characters representing their conflicting desires to be feminine to please their family and to be his true masculine self and can thus fuse with Temari and Rhythm to become the feminine and masculine Yamato Maihime and Beat Jumper respectively.

Leading them is Tadase, a shy weak-willed boy who wished to be strong-willed and confident and can fuse with his guardian character Kiseki to become Platinum Royale, the confident and regal. He is a skilled user of his staff which can turn into his royal blade and can create a forcefield called Holy Crown capable of stopping a helicopter. The Guardians can purify x-eggs back into heart's eggs.

The Guardians also seek out the Embryo, an egg said to be able to grant wishes to grant Kiseki's wish to rule the world. They are opposed by Easter who also seek Embryo, to grant the wish of their mysterious ruler. Easter has several agents, but among the strongest is Utau. Utau is one of the only two characters known to have two guardian characters along with Nagi earlier. Utau's characters reflect her internal divide; El the angelic sweet character and Il the devilish mischevious character with which she can transform into Seraphic Charm and Lunatic Charm. Seraphic Charm has purification, able to restore x-eggs and can attack with angelic feathers called White Wing which immobilize an enemy. Lunatic Charm can attack via summoning dark butterflies or with her dark trident. Lunatic Charm can also turn hearts eggs into x-eggs purposefully, including a stadium full of people showing building scale soul manipulation. It may be important to note that manipulating the soul in Shugo Chara does not kill the target but it does render them unconcious and for all purposes defenseless.

An agent with even more power then Utau but even less loyal to Easter's cause is Ikuto. Ikuto was bonded by duty to Easter but wished to be free representing it in the mischeivous cat guardian character Yoru. When they fuse they become Black Claw. Skilled, graceful, and tricky with the agility, balance and senses of a cat, Black Lynx is hard to pin down reflecting his wish to be free. While he doesn't tend to fight directly, he does have an attack called "Slash Claw" where he enhances his claw transformation to slash at an enemy with an energy slash capable of hitting at range. When Easter used brainwashing sound waves to control Ikuto he became the stronger dark entity Death Rebel who can corrupt hearts eggs, can attack with a scythe with such power as to threaten Platinum Royal's shield and do signifigant damage to an amusemnt park. When Amu unlocked the Humpty Lock with the Dumpty Key Ikuto reached an even greater level of power becoming Seven Seas Treasure who substitues his old claw for a pirate sword he can make energy slashes with and is probably the strongest character in this tier in terms of raw power. Seven Seas Treasure also has astral psychometry, able to sense emotions associated with an object.

The biggest outright threat is the giant x-egg monster seen in the final battle with Easter made by combining many smaller x-eggs stated to be capable of manipulating the heart's eggs (souls) of the entire city, and possibly the whole world.

While seemingly difficult and tiring and so rarely done, it is also possible for a person to undergo character change with another person's guardian character when their feelings reach each other. It should be noted that everyone with a guardian character can resist soul manipulation even on the level of the giant x-egg monster and can physically interact with guardian character, souls.

So in terms of threats, this verse excels in soul manipulation; both corruption/stealing and purification with the characters being able to effect a stadium of people and the biggest threat being a potential planetary soul manipulator. The verse also has numerous forms of immobilization; from Clown Drop tie-ing up enemies with tightrope, Seraphic Charm immobilizing enemies with angel feathers, Dear Baby's rubber duckie swarm, or knocking enemies unconcious via taking their heart's egg or Merry Merry.

However while the degree of soul manipulation might be intimidating the verse has a bunch of weaknesses. Probably most prominently is the verse's lack of stamina. Several things in the series are noted to drain stamina including character change, the most basic form of gaining powers. The characters are drawing from the power of their emotions and emotional surges are brief temporary things that can't be maintained forever.

Another weakness is manipulation and intelligence strategies. The cast is comprised entirely of elementary to middle school age children and are not the most emotionally composed.

Another weakness is the lack of killing abilities in the verse. If you can match the stats of the tier, they can't actually kill very well, especially if one has some way around soul manipulation, as their attack potency seems to be relatively low compared to their durability. Ikuto has the most lethal moves of the cast and he doesn't seem to use it that way usually.

The final weakness I'd note for the verse is just taking the guardian characters, keeping the characters from transforming. Guardian Characters are tiny and actually quite weak to the point 2 struggled to lift a present, and three of them can be used as toys against their will by Amu's baby sister. They are invisible but can be seen by children.

All this suggests a defensive related strategy would be really strong, just outlasting the characters and possibly outwitting them via endurance.

So who would be a good counter? The first option would be

A Beowulf from RWBY

Depending on how you scale the Beowulf, it's stats would be on the higher end for this tier. It should be comparable to Lancers who can survive building level explosions and in large numbers can be a threat for building level Huntsmen and Huntresses. Their reflexes are also developed enough to catch hypersonic fighters in motion meaning they would have no risk of being blitzed.

Beowulfs are grimm, meaning they have no soul and would be immune to any soul manipulation. It's claws should easily pack the same level of lethality as Black Lynx's attack despite it being a casual strike and given grimms' ability to track negative emotion it's very likely a beowulf could easily track any of the fighters in the verse via the incredible emotion of their hearts' eggs.

That said it is possible even the lowest Beowulf scale to full building level and to hypersonic momement speed which would require a higher balled Shugo Chara local tier to be fair. For a counter whose stats are definitely in line you could use

Angel from the Buffy-verse.

Angel is able to endurance close range grenades with minimal damage, and cut vampires in half. This means that he would be at least on par with the lower part of this tier and able to compete with the stronger fighers here. In terms of speed Angel can not only move as a blur, but even move as a blur to other vampires who themselves are subsonic, suggesting he would be a speedster to the tier.

Angel as a vampire lacks a soul and would be immune to soul manipulation as well as resisting mind hax that affected an entire building suggesting not even Easter's brainwashing tech would be able to stop him. Angel also has a regen factor strong enough to regrow limbs, meaning it would be nigh-impossible for the verse to put him down even ignoring that he's a superhuman skilled fighter and master manipulator that would run mental circles around the tier.

Lesser vampires are able to track humans across a city with scent and Angel himself can hit far away targets with pinpoint accuracy giving him a large sensory/attack range over eveyone in the verse. The only real danger for him is if the purification of the verse can restore him to humanity, making him vulnerable. I don't think this would happen but just in case I have probably the most optimal counter.

The Beast from Over the Garden Wall.

The Beast scales far above Papa who was the size of a small building and a dog corrupted his presence became...a.....dark.....wolf.......huh....... who was able to withstand force that dealt signifigant damage to a mill. He's also as fast as Wirt who was able to leave a clearing before teardrops reached him, these teardrops filling the clearing in seconds, putting the Beast at similar stats to the tier.

The Beast's soul is within his lantern and takes the form of fire meaning the verse likely couldn't target with their form of soul manipulation, and even if they could, they wouldn't know to target them.

Simple tricks like darkness manipulation and ventriloquism combined with the Beast's master manipulation abilities would allow him to easily control the cast, even likely convincing them to trust him. There's also many characters in Easter he could likely trick into serving him as he did to the Woodsman such as Uatu and Ikuto whose father left them and was never seen again. The Beast could easily manipulate them by changing his soul in the lantern to resemble their father and tell them they need to serve him to keep their father alive.

Most disturbingly is the interaction of x-eggs and the Beast's form of transmutation. A heart's egg turning into an x-egg represents the loss of hope in one's dream and one's self, and with their forced transmutation The Beast can force it into a permenant transformation by absorbing the afflicted into edelwood to be absorbed. The Beast can perfectly take advantage of the weaknesses of the verse.

Regional/Planetary Scale Threat:

The founding king of the guardians passed down an item called the Humpty Lock, saying that it should only go to the person who has the unprecedented 3 guardian characters. This was Amu. Amu was a girl who everyone thought was cool and above it all but this left her feeling lonely without being able to share her true self with others. She wished to find the the real her and the complexity of her emotions caused 3 guardian characters to appear for her; Ran, Miki and Su.

Amu by the end of the series is the top tier of the verse having been able to combine the dumpty key with the humpty lock to unlock the road of stars. The road of stars is a dimension transcending space and time, with waves of stars traveling at lightspeed. Due to the way things are drawn in this manga I can't tell if this is supposed to be literal stars or things that just appear to be stars, but if they are literal stars this would make Amu at least star system level, possibly low galaxy level in attack potency for being able to send an opponent into the power of the road of stars. She's durable enough to survive falling into the energy of a shooting star zone, and she travels on the road of stars moving at the speed of light, capable of reacting to outside events while traveling. The road of stars transcending spacetime allows her to travel to any point in space and time that she wants as well as unlock the heart of anyone seeing their memories, even herself. Amu can also take others into the Road of Stars at will BFR-ing them anywhere in space and time, manipulating the Embryo within to reality-warping via wish-granting, or looking their memories, unlocking their heart.

Amu can use the abilities granted by her guardian characters. By fusing with Ran Amu can become Amulet Heart which gives her masterful athletic ability including superleaping and balancing on phone lines, pom-poms to block attacks and a baton which she can throw like a boomerang or shoot pink energy out off. Ran can also break the fourth wall mentioning to the audience that an event happened in the extra chapter. She can fuse with Miki to become Amulet Spade gain mastery of artistic abilities, able to make completely lifelike paintings, and can create a flood of paint that can immobilize an enemy. When she fuses with Suu, she becomes Amulet Clover she gains domestic abilities including the ability to use a pan to block attacks and can heal or restore any object to it's peak. Suu was also able to create a stamina drink for Amu, though it apparently tasted awful. More powerful then these she can fuse with her hidden fourth character Dia to become Amulet Diamond. Amulet Diamond can attack with a shower of stars and create a star shield to defend her. She can create bright lights and fly freely. Amulet Diamond can also use her stars to move objects around or hold them in place.

Beyond all this Amu wished to be all she could be, allowed her to character transform into Amulet Fortune, a being with the powers of all her character transformations.

Fighting Amu is pretty difficult at this tier due to her being able to travel at lightspeed outside space and time. Most of her abilities aren't actually that broken per se, it's just there was a sudden jump in power and hax in one of the final chapters at the end.

The best tactic would hypothetically be blitzing her before she goes into the road of stars but due to how a strategy guide works, outstating is not one of the potential strategies. This leaves very limited options.

One of the best ones is to use stealth to hit her without her noticing. She doesn't have much in the way of anti-stealth outside of looking into their memories something she doesn't do passively, and if someone can take her guardian characters, they would leave her defenseless. Beyond that she doesn't seem to have that strong a control of her abilities and has never shown acausality, meaning a proficient enough time traveler could possibly stop her from unlocking the road of stars.

So who would be a good counter? My first idea was

Cure Amour from Pretty Cure

Cure Amour is a Pretty Cure Android from the Future. In terms of speed she should be relative to Cure Blossom who could intercept light from a camera putting her at the same speed range.

She is a genius intellect with the information of the future and advanced scanning technology that would instantly tell her all relevant information about Amu and how to counter it. But couldn't Amu do the same in reverse? Actually no, Cure Amour has resistance to memory manipulation as Criasu Corporation was unable to erase her memories of her friends from her database. This means she can hide herself as a normal human as is normal modus operandi and stealth against Amu.

Pretty Cure have shown the ability to affect intangible entities, and Cure Amour should be able to trap the guardian characters. She could also erase Amu's memories with her own memories. And in a time travel war, while neither is acausal, Cure Amour is a far more accomplished time travler who at least has some resistance to time manipulation meaning Amu may not be able to BFR her thanks to Amour Asupower, the power of the Hugtto Cures that let them resist time manipulation from Criasu Corporations.

That said if Amu did catch onto her, Amu would probably be able to destroy Amour via raw power. For a counter that can fight her more directly, you could use

Crowley from Good Omens.

Crowley was able to help finish a nebula and he can fight while traveling as information waves moving through a computer against Hastur requiring relativistic reactions, suggesting he would be able to fight Amu directly.

Crowley would easily run mental circles around the idealistic Amu given he was the manipulative serpent in the garden, tricked the managers of Hell, and has the human power of imagination. Simple things like disguising himself as one of her friends would likely fool her, unless she for some reason decided to look into their memories. Crowley can time freeze at will, which would allow him to hit Amu and just one hit from him would put her down, let alone all his other offensive haxes like transmutation or sealing people inside cyberspace.

Even if Amu did destroy Crowley's physical form, which it's quite reasonable to think she could if they came to blows, Crowley can come back from having his body destroyed or just possess someone on Earth. Crowley has his own dimensional travel to get out of the Road of Stars if she tried to trap him within, and if she tried to go back to his past she wouldn't find anything as angels and demons existed at the beginning of the universe.

That said Amu can force a stalemate by exiting spacetime and it's possible her purification would work on him, as for a demon he's quite the affable sort. For what I believe is the perfect counter I would suggest

Clockwork from Danny Phantom.

Clockwork scales easily to the relativistic speed of ghost rays suggesting he would be comparable to Amu in raw speed. But beyond that he is perfectly suited to exploiting every single one of Amu's weaknesses.

Stealth? Ghosts can turn invisible or possess people to get close to others. Stealing away the guardian characters. Ghosts can interact with each other despite some being literal ghosts. A lesser ghost sealed Danny's Soul in his body in the past, and Clockwork should be able to easily BFR the guardian characters in time and space to keep Amu from transforming.

If Amu attacked him, while she easily has the attack potency to one-shot Clockwork, anything but a direct hit will let him just regen if he doesn't avoid beyond phasing intangible or freezing time. Clockwork meanwhile has better time travel then Amu, acausality, and general time manipulation experiency centuries beyond her. Amu might be able to see Clockwork's memories but Clockwork sees all events in the past, present and all future, a precog literally infinitely stronger.

Amu can try to seal Clockwork in the Road of Stars but weaker ghosts have escaped the sealing of things like Fenton Thermos and given that all of Amu's forms rely on equipment like the hairpieces showing which guardian character is in control, Clockwork could imbue part of any of them with a piece of his energy as Kitty did to her clothing so he could possess her even if he was to be somehow destroyed. Even the Embryo's wish-granting may not work as strong enough ghosts seem to have some resistance to the wish-granting reality-warping of the ghost Desiree.

Overall Clockwork has Amu's strongest ability, but is far more accomplished with it essentially being a beginner of a skill vs the complete master of it, has far more broken abilities, and can exploit every single one of her weaknesses as his default tactic.

And that's how to be OP in the Shugo Chara-verse.
