DC Comics Quick Scaling

This is a blog I mentioned I'd do giving the quick scaling information for DC Comics. Feel free to ask if you want me to do this for any other of my favorite verses.

Power Scaling:

Low Tiers:

Lower Low Tiers: Random civilians have feats in the wall range from things like violetly throwing doors off their hinges or cracking concrete with their punches. Every random Atlantean can casually survive the pressure of the deep ocean with the atlanteans and the amazons (who have fought several wars evenly and seem to be similar physically, if not favoring the Amazons who have worse technology used as a common benchmark for weaker dc characters with Lex Luthor training with his own amazon bodyguards for instance. Amazons also have their own superhuman feats like lifting 10 tons or withstands the heat near magma. Also literal Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, a character rejected from the Legion for having powers too useless to be used survived a wall level explosion.

Middle Low Tiers: A large number of building level feats for most of the DC Street tiers. Condiment King who is viewed as a joke villain can create a building sized mustard gas explosion. Stronger ones include ones such as Harley Quinn surviving a building exploding before being enhanced by Poison Ivy, Hawkman lifting and flying planes, Killer Croc surviving having a building collapse on him,  Green Arrow surviving being inside a building that exploded. Batman and Deathstroke in the New 52 (without 10 years of superhero experience) survived a school explosion calced at 7.5 tons, which is large building level which is the upper end.

Upper Low Tier: Deathstroke in Post-Crisis has an MCB feat. Vampire Andrew Bennet can create a forcefield that can survive a nuclear explosive. The Metamorphae can survive nuclear explosives. Ice Maiden can create a snow storm. Post-Crisis Cyborg claimed he could lift a mountain.

Mid Tiers Scaling-Flashpoint Era:

Lower Mid Tier: Early New 52 Superman was able to hold the weight of the Earth on him for several days without sunlight only producing one drop of sweat. Brainiac's ship vastly eclipsed the Earth and early New 52 Bricks were able to move it. The side effect of New 52 Superman's strike on H'el could be felt around the world and to the upper atmosphere. I have to think that given the casualness of these feats and the statement that a Post-Crisis Kryptonian child could crack the planet in half this would be the power level of any random Kryptonian. As such lower bounds scale to around planetary+.

Middle Mid Tier: Early to Mid New 52 Superman can survive black holes and claimed supernovas were "no trouble". Cyborg Superman in New 52 can fly through supernovas without difficulty. New 52 Wonder Woman can knock around Apollo who is the actual Sun. The Flash can perform the Infinite Mass Punch. Possibly hyperbole but New 52 Starfire described a sense of pain as feeling like she just flew through a black hole. Green Lanterns hypothetically should have the same auto-ring capability as Post-Crisis as New 52 is simply the Post-Crisis timeline with the 10 years removed. This is the Large Stellar level

Upper Mid Tier: Orion's Emanation destroyed a star system and by end of New 52 Superman was able to fight evenly with Orion. This is Star System level.

Mid Tiers Scaling Post-Crisis Era:

Lower Mid Tier: Green Lantern Auto-Shields protect from supernova and black holes and most bricks have feats that scale to Lanterns, or are at most 1 degree of seperation apart. Possibly higher as thousands of lanterns stopped a galaxy bust. Early Post-Crisis Superman survived a supernova during the Byrne Era long before he started to remove his own mental blocks. Wonder Woman was hit by a black hole completely by surprise and was unaffected. Supergirl can survive a supernova. Lightray the New God of speed while weak created a giant star as a diversionary tactic while trying to escape from The Black Racer.

Middle Mid Tier: Starfire fought an Amped Blackfire whose power was mistaken for X'Hal's who could destroy a star system. Kyle Rayner could recreate a star system with his own energy. Superman casually threw a compressed star system that had the same mass as normal. Alan Scott dying would destroy the solar system accidently. This would be Star System Level.

Higher Mid Tier: Ares can grow to the size of giants whose hands are the sizes of the solar system. Superman survives enough anti-sunlight to destroy half of a galaxy. Superman 1,000,000 was able to use his telekinesis vision to push a galaxy with great difficulty and after attaining the Theta State Superman could call on his power. Green Lantern Frodo grows to the size of a galaxy, something high tier green lanterns should scale too. This would be around Galaxy Level.

Mid Tiers Scaling Pre-Crisis Era:

Lower Mid Tier: Pre-Crisis Superboy could casually move the planets of a galaxy on a rope. Chemical King claimed Superboy could destroy half a galaxy without raising a sweat.  Sun-Eaters, relative low tiers of the Pre-Crisis era that Mongul kept one of as a pet, could consume whole galaxies at once. Basically any Pre-Crisis Brick scales to Galaxy Level.

Middle Mid Tier: The Titans and the Olympians could collectively shake the cosmos in their conflict with their pre-crisis emanations. Magnar of the New Gods can create the repulsion flow of a hundred galaxies. Orion can tap into the same Astro Force Pre and Post Crisis, with the Astro Force able to contribute 1/5th the power to destroy a universe, and with great difficulty being able to contain a universe busting power itself. Basically anyone on the level of Pre-Crisis God Emanations would be Multi-Galactic.

Upper Mid Tier: Numerous universal feats for high end Pre-Crisis bricks, which may be higher as the DC Universe is larger then ours. Superman and Supergirl fight Blackstarr who controls the universe in every aspect. Superman survived the Big Bang. Pre-Crisis Supergirl was able to threaten the early Anti-Monitor who can easily wipe out universes and was equal to Monitor whose dying energy was able to create a dimension to encompass and protect the 5 remaining universes. Superman and Supergirl were able to compete with Maaldor who upon dying started to became a universe of madness that threatend the surrounding realities. Green Lantern overcharged Doctor Polaris who was controlling the magnetism of the universe. Shazam was relative to Infinity Man who had the power of the Big Bang. High-End Pre-Crisis Bricks scale to Universal+

For a merged Mid-Tiers:

Planet Level+: Lower New 52 Bricks

Large Star Level: Middle New 52 Bricks/Lower Post-Crisis Bricks (Lantern Tier)

Star System Level: Upper New 52 Bricks/Middle Post-Crisis Bricks

Galaxy Level: Upper Post-Crisis Bricks/Lower Pre-Crisis Bricks

Multi-Galaxy Level: Middle Pre-Crisis Bricks

Universe Level+, possibly Low Multiversal: Upper Pre-Crisis Bricks

High Tiers Scaling:

Lower High Tiers: Lords of Chaos and Order are often sentient universes and survived the birth of the cycle, the creation of many universes and the balance at once. There's some overlap with the upper end of Pre-Crisis Brick scaling. Doctor Fate was relative to Indra who threatened over 1,000 planes of being. Lieutenant Demon Chronzon could turn into anti-life the end of universes. Most high end magicla entities scale to this level. Most unofficial Crisis entities are at this level at least, such as Nekron, embodiment of the Black Lantern who no-sold a Yellow Lantern Anti-Monitor attack who is at least above dying Monitor's 5 universal feat. This level is Low Multiversal.

Middle High Tiers: The Fourth World Entities are conceptual entities massive enough that true form Darkseid falling unto the multiverse threatened to destroy it. Most of the real Crisis level entities are at this level with things like Peak Anti-Monitor reaching this level. Similar Crisis entities like Parallax Hal Jordan or The Batman who Laughs are at this level by direct comparison and scaling to past crisis. The Spectre is usually in this tier as he was able to directly rival the Anti-Monitor and Parallax Hal Jordan.  This level is Infinite/High Multiversal.

Upper High Tiers: The Fifth World Entities are metafictional entities transcending the fourth world containing every platonic concept including concepts of power. This is the tier of such beings as Mr. Mxypztlk, Dr. Manhattan and Mandrakk.

Top Tier Scaling:

Beyond the fifth world is the sixth world, the end to all thought, where absolute entities transcending every concept and meta-concept exist, beings that are pure being and non-being who are all part of a singular perfection divided into many pieces. Before all conceptuation and quantification was the first world, the Source, infinitely creative, emanating all things below.

Speed Scaling:

Supersonic: Most Excellent Superbat, an inexperienced superhero vigilante without any powers can bullet-time. Amazons can bullet-time once waging war against the Modern United States. Especially with not being massively slower then above tier, then any serious fighter from the main DC reality should scale to supersonic.

Hypersonic: There are a large amount of bullet-timing and explosion timing feats for Middle Low Tiers. Harley Quinn has dodged machine gun fire while blind. Batman has outpaced an explosion and has a ton of casual bullet timing feats. Batman with his back broken was able to catch a baseball inches away from his feet, moving his hand at mach 13. Katana was able to block incoming bullet fire with her katana, moving at many times the speed of sound. Green Arrow in the New 52 was able to rapid fire his bow faster then mach 5. Most DC Low Tiers scale to Hypersonic speeds.

Massively Hypersonic to Relativistic: Numerous DC Low Tiers have shown lightning-timing including Batman and Harley Quinn. Static uses lightning his main form of attack and propels himself with lightning and he's around the Upper Low tier. Royal Atlanteans also have lightning timing feats and while faster then them, most Middle Low Tiers can react to their movements. Batman and Aquaman both have also shown light-timing feats with Batman dodging Dr. Light's light and Aquaman dodging lightspeed lasers.

FTL, Possibly MFTL (Millions): Niles Caulder got the powers of an Average Kryptonian and easily gathered all the weapons in the world in one place in 5 minutes 38.7 seconds exactly which is certainly faster then light, probably millions of times lightspeed. This is the speed of an average Kryptonian under a Yellow Sun and beings that scale to them.

MFTL (Trillions): New 52 Superman flew to Earth from the Edge of the Universe in 2 months, a feat almost exactly 600 trillion c due to the size of a DC universe. Green Lanterns in the New 52 continuity can quickly travel to Oa at the center of the universe. It's possible this value is higher because Green Lantern auto-travel speed should not be different from Post-Crisis. Most New 52 Bricks, at least mid tier ones, should be around this speed.

MFTL (Quadrillions): Post-Crisis has numerous feats in this range with Green Lantern auto-speed calced at this speed 43 quadrillion c. Most Post-Crisis Bricks should scale at least to this speed.

MFTL (Sextillions): Wonder Woman reflected all the pieces of the shattered god traveling from the edge of the universe to the Shattered God calced at this speed. Wonder Woman is on the faster end of Post-Crisis Bricks but the faster of Post-Crisis Bricks should get here before transcending the time barrier. Wonder Woman herself can go faster with the speed of Hermes to the point of entering the speedforce.

MFTL (Tredecillions): Wally West reached these speeds before running into trans-time speeds going into the fourth dimension in the time period he was still holding back. Pre-Crisis Superboy was able to casually break the time barrier as was able to Jay Garrick when he ran to the border of the speed force meaning the fastest post-crisis bricks should be around here. Any character fast enough to break the time barrier or scaling to others who can would scale to tredecillions of times the speed of light.

Infinite: Those who can run into the speedforce can run to the end of the multiverse in minutes, the multiverse being infinite in sized.

Conceptual Infinity: Those who are at least above Hermes can run fast enough to go between the platonic sphere of the gods and the universes of the mortals by sheer speed.

Some Tactical Notes:

For more information feel free to read my strategy guide for it. I'm going to give what I think are the three important points to keep in mind for each tier, as well as any relevant weaknesses.

Low Tier:

+Magicians in DC are just insane. Even low tier magicians can warp reality with things like suspending gravity being considered a trival trick. Going by Zachary Zatara the difference between a rookie magician and a professional is that rookie magicians can't directly affect living material for some reason. Still 7 DC mages were able to bind and seal Dream of the Endless, one of the strongest beings in creation. You have absolutely brokenly strong magic users who don't have that strong stats like Constantine, Nightmare Nurse, Madame Xanadu and Jill Presto. Anti-Magic is also strong with characters like Black Alice, Dr. Thirteen even Batman learned a charm to nullify magic including Enchantress's magic.

+DC Regen is different then Marvel Regen. In Marvel almost everyone character has some degree of regen but it's usually something that can be overcome by lots of physical force. In DC regen is rarer but way more broken with things like Jin En Mok regening from their creation being destroyed, Fables returning so long as their fairy tales exist, the court of Dream of the Endless returning so long as the Dreaming exists and so on. On a higher tier you have Doomsday's Regen, Swamp Thing's regen etc.

+There is a lot of higher plane shenanigans including downright conceptual stuff that happens even in the low tiers.

-There's actually not a lot of large scale psychic feats in DC. Braininac's ability to brainwash numerous people at once was considered a strong mind hax feat. This is possibly because brainwashing a lot of people gives you the ability to warp reality due to the collective unconciousness.

-Metafictional stuff and toonforce is consistently insane in DC. DC's creation is connected to something called the metaverse, a fictional construct that allows reality-warping via manipulation of the medium, like the text panels. Harley Quinn whose a relatively mild metahax user was able to restore the DC metaverse just by drawing a story about her mom.

-Inter-Dimensional Travel doesn't seem to be as easy as time travel in DC. To travel between dimensions one needs to go through the bleed which seems to be fairly difficult so inter-dimensional strategies might work well.

Mid Tier:

+More metahax on this tier, even if still not huge amount of resistance to it. Animal Man has metahax from his fourth wall awareness, Pre-Crisis Kryptonians can do the retcon punch, Queen of Fables changing the world to follow storybook rules etc.

+Lantern Manipulators are corps of often hundreds to thousands of emotional manipulaters with a highly versatile powerset used to large scale cosmic combat.

+Speedforce Manipulators are just ridiculously fast for their tier with powers like multiversal power-draining, time manipulation, sealing/bfr and so on.

-A lot of the fighters on this tier seem to lack range you'd expect. Most of them are limited to maybe star system scale, with anywhere from melee to planetary range being common and the highest usually is universal. Inter-Dimensional Range can snipe.

-Most of the same from earlier

High Tier:

+Tier is full of mental, spiritual, conceptual and metafictional entities encompassing literally every concept and meta-concept.

+Chrysalis is a really broken entity in this tier that is an intrinsic field, an absolute property meaning not even the above scale can hurt her.

+When the Sphere of the Gods itself is threatened 5 powerful gods; Zeus, Ares, Jove, Odin and Highfather fuse into a being called The One, a being who only showed up in literally one issue and is the guardian of the sphere of the gods. This being was powerful enough to penetrate into the heart of the Source.

-There's a recurring theme in DC that the non-physical strongest entities are bound by their own nature, such as Dream being unable to break the rules of Dreaming, or Lucifer Morningstar rebelling binding him to his Father's will.

-Most of the Sphere of the Gods is shaped and controlled by the minds of mortals.
