Wander over Yonder-verse Strategy Guide

How to be OP in the Wander over Yonder-verse

Galactic Threat:

The primary setting of the Wander-verse is the Yonder Galaxy, a miraculous galaxy brimming with powerful and strange alien life.

Much of the cast get their stats from scaling to Wander. While Wander is the Hero of Galaxy due to his charisma and hopeful disposition, he is considered relatively weak physically to the point that even Lord Haters' minions the Watch Dogs can compete physically with the Star Nomad.

Wander is physically powerful enough that with but one finger he can plug a Black Hole threatening the whole galaxy. In astronomical terms, two bodies like a black hole and a galaxy will orbit the shared center of mass. For the center of mass to be within one of the objects, that means that object must MASSIVELY eclipse the former in terms of mass, with the effect growing the greater the size disparity. Wander plugging a galaxy-threatening black hole small enough to be plugged by a finger shows he was withstanding, even outright tanking enough a mass far greater then a galaxy being concentrated on his finger. This is relevant because of by what magnitude other character eclipse Wander in strength.Wander also possess his famous hat which he can pull what is needed for the situation from. While this is a bit of a no limit fallacy, it should give him an absolutely immense potential versatility.

The Yonder Galaxy's most famed villain is Lord Hater, who has whole armies equal to Wander, and he himself clearly eclipse them in power. Just him hitting a table was enough to electrocute all the Watch Dogs touching it. Lord Hater's power is based on his anger and rage though even his calm state is comparable to Wander and his Watch Dogs as shown when he tanked the aforementioned galaxy destroying Black Hole.

The Galaxy also contains a number of heroes and villains and strange alien forces including the nobel Sylvia, Wander's most trusted ally who accompanies on his travels across the galaxy, the psychic Major Threat who with a casual bursts of his psychic power destroyed Planet-Dwarfing statues of Lord Hater, The great dog Buster who was of such size as to play catch with whole planets, the mysterious Black Cube of Darkness, a dark cube capable of stealing souls, the vile Dr. Screwball Jones with his mad antics to bring the galaxy to giggles, the tricky Lil' Bits a planetary scale mental manipulator and the Mooplexians, a strange race of mental beings that exist in the cosmic awareness and manipulate the minds of the galaxies.

Of course this is all dwarfed by the inter-galactic invader Lord Dominator. Unlike the other Super-Villains, Lord Dominator does not want to rule the galaxy, but destroy it. She well has the power to do so in her hands. Even her minions, the Dominator-Bots whom she can easily destroy at will, are strong enough to compete with the greatest warrior of the Yonder Galaxy. Her True power was enough to nearly solo every other being. She commands not just great power with her battle armor but magma and ice manipulation. The only being capable of competing with her was Lord Hater who at his maximum range was able to compete with her physically and with the support of the galaxy's cheers was able to transcend the limitation of anger and overpower even Lord Dominator.

Speedwise, the verse is sitting at the likely trillions to quadrillions of times the speed of light. The characters can regularly travel around the galaxy at will, and travel around the universe at will. At the end of the first season, Wander used a chronal Jet Stream to deliver presents to all of his friends across the universe in at most a day, likely less given the time spent at Lord Hater's. Even assuming he made just one pass across the universe, this would require speeds of trillions of times the speed of light. More likely this would require quadrillions of times the speed of light. This would be for Wander's reaction speed and his Orbbal bubble's movement speed, and the top tiers should at least scale to that.

In terms of weaknesses, many of the powerful beings of the galaxy can act a bit....silly at times, and be prone to manipulation. Granted Commander Peepers and Sylvia would probably be pretty good at detecting through manipulation given their personalities but the absolute strongest characters would seem to be liable to fall for this. As such a manipulator build would be a good potential choice.

Raw power would probably not be a great idea, given how casual the verse is into the galactic range, and how the top tiers can just fodderize galactic+ level characters. What would be potentially helpful would be range. While the verse's fighters do often show inter-planetary range, galactic range is something only maybe Lord Dominator can be said to have. This would also be helpful against the verse's haxes users, who all seem to need to require sensory output to work.

In addition, the verse is limited in sensory data. There seems to be little beings with clairvoyance or super senses, meaning that a being that can use invisibility or can hide being cover or something to the sort can get a tactical advantage by simply being difficult to detect.

To best defend against the verse's strengths, it's likely some degree of hax defense and offense would be best, defense to avoid the incredible physical power of the verse, and offense to ignore not just the powerful defense but to hit the intangible entities the mooplexians.

So who would be a good counter? My first idea was

Gorrl the Living Galaxy from Image Comics.

Gorrl can attack with galaxy level power from outside the sensory or attack range of most to all of the verse, and would be hardly distinguishable even if they did see as he would appear as just another galaxy.

Gorrl himself does have cosmic clairvoyance and is a non-corporeal entity, meaning he would be have full awareness of them while they would know not him.

The main problem with Gorrl is his lack of anti-intangibility suggesting and his mental instability suggesting that Wander might be able to manipulate him in his normal fashion or the Mooplexians who would be semi-invulnerable to him being able to manipulate even his galactic mind.

My second counter is from a character that I think would fit very well with the Wander-verse, that being

Nightmare from Kirby.

Nightmare is relatively weak physically for the Wander-verse, scaling from Kirby who has multiple feats of defeating foes capable of destroying or creating dimensions containing many stars, and Star Dream Soul Os who was capable of spatially warping numerous nebula. His speed should be at least comparable scaling to the Warp Star which can traverse the universe in ~ 14.8 seconds requiring speeds of nearly 200 Quadrillions times the speed of light.

However it's in his abilities that he really shines.

Nightmare is a dream-themed reality-warper, which would allow him to circumvent durability and hit intangibles. He can shield the area he's in with darkness, hiding his relative position. He also has the somewhat rare ability for Wander-verse of teleportation and intangibility making him almost impossible for the verse to pin down, while he can go around shifting people just slightly enough to stop them.

However Nightmare's best trick is his form of regeneration, always returning so long as fear exists in the hearts of people. The Yonder-Galaxy is so full of villains that love to strike fear into people that they have their own leaderboard and internal hierarchy. Even if the Yonder Galaxy manage to defeat him, Nightmare will return so long as the villains continue to act in their normal manner.

For a more subtle route, another counter I would suggest would be

Ninetails from Okami.

Ninetails should be low to decent in raw power scaling from Amaterasu who spun the whirlpool galaxy with her wind at 69 trillion times the speed of light. However the Ninetails' most famous strength is also what would make her so strong here: deception.

The Ninetails is smart enough to fool a tribe of immortals for a great length of time. The verse's more naive defenders would have an extremely hard time not getting outfoxed, especially given her incredible ability to disguise herself, even turning herself into a constellation to avoid detection.

Even if she does get caught out in the open, the Ninetails is not helpless. Her 9 souls would help her not go down easily and even the Black Cube of Darkness could not one shot her, and her dark brush techniques can hit intangibles meaning she has a natural defenses against the mooplexians. She also has teleportation and illusion creation which would help her escape and continue to deceive and manipulate the verse.

While it might take a while, I think the Ninetails could eventually decieve the verse to get her victory. She could attack Hater while he's sleep and steal Dominator's armor.

However all of these characters are sort of avoiding a direct confrontation with the verse. If you want a character that can actually go fist to fist with the verse, I think a good pick would be

General Rilldo from Dragon Ball GT would be a good pick.

Rilldo is powerful enough to compete with SSJ GT Goku and was superior to Anime Buu even in his base form. It's also notable that GT Uub was potentially comparable to Anime SSJ3 Goku in the Buu Saga. Goku in the Toei film Fusion Reborn was able to shake the universe-sized afterlife with just his powerup, requiring galactic+ levels of power-up. Rilldo would likely be above even this level of power by a good amount.

During the otherworld Tournament, Goku also crossed the afterlife at over 4 quadrillion times the speed of light. In his BASE form. Base Rilldo is vastly stronger then that, and his stronger forms are even more powerful.

This means Rilldo power-wise would likely be comparable to Dominator and Enraged Hater but have a speed advantage. While he might be technically vulnerable to hax, it's likely he would be able to hit any potential opponent before they get him, especially given his universal range by scaling.

But that ignores Rilldo's main ability; metal manipulation and absorption. The Yonder Galaxy is FULL of powerful tech. All the villains have their own ships and often bases. The Watch Dogs use armors and guns that make them Wander Level and can tank stellar destruction. All of Dominator's underlings are robots, and her armor that makes her so incredible strong is also made of metal. Rilldo just by being in proximity could absorb them into himself, making him even stronger. Lord Hater would have the best chance of defeating Rilldo by himself, as his powers are magic and rage based rather then tech based.

One last question remains, could Rilldo hit the intangibles? Yes, he can. Toei Canon, Ki can hit intangibles as can be seen when they are used against the Ghost Fighters in the Anime Film "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans"

Universal Threat:

On two occasions, the cast of WOY found two cosmic beings concerned with a far greater scale then the galaxy.

One of these is the great Turtle Miss Myrtle, weaver of the galaxy. Given her title it's like she possesses creation and matter-energy manipulation abilities. She is also stated to be a threat to the entire universe if she wished, showing universe levels of power.

The other is the strange cosmic entity only know as the "Celestial Being" appearing in the first episode. It has a logia intangibility (rainbow colored light) as well as time manipulation (can freeze beings in time) and general reality-warping (claimed to be able to grant wishes).

Both of these characters possess offensive haxes, specifically energy/matter manipulation and reality-warping/time manipulation but lack defensive haxes (outside a relatively limited logia intangibility) or any hax resistances.

Of course if you just put a universe-ranged universe-level character with a one-shot in, they could get double-teamed and even one on one it would basically just be a 50/50 shot, if they don't have resistances to what Myrtle and the Celestial being have as attacks. As such, some light defensive hax would actually probably be most helpful.

For instance my first pick is

The Nameless Evil from Samurai Jack.

The Nameless Evil was powerful enough to contend with the Gods Ra, Odin and Vishnu all at once. Given Word of God suggested that any one of them was comparable to Zeus, who overthrew the God Cronos who himself could control all of spacetime, the entire cosmos, this would suggest the Nameless Evil might have a slight power advantage having fought three universals instead of just two.

The Nameless Evil possesses it's own logia intangibility (darkness) but bolsters it with a regen factor such that even a small piece of it, Aku, was able to regenerate from just a small piece of itself.

Likewise a small piece of itself, Aku demonstrated a far more versatile amount of hax then either of the verse's defenders; being able to send people into the far future with a scream, transforming three mountain sheep into monsters, duplication abilities and perhaps most notable of all...corruption abilities.

Aku was able to turn Jack into a semi-clone of himself by infecting him with but a small piece of Aku. If Myrtle or The Celestial Being destroy most of the Nameless Evil but get a small piece of it stuck to them, it could begin to convert them to more of the Nameless Evil itself! This would be especially helpful as neither seems fully cosmically aware.

Aku has also demonstrated many other abilities such as mind-reading, precognition, teleportation of self and other, and he is but a small fraction of the Nameless Evil. It's possible the Nameless Evil could perform said things on a far greater scale.

Another powerful defense that would really mess up the verse is existing in and attacking from another dimension, something neither has shown the ability to affect. While parallel dimensions do exist in Wander over Yonder, like Hater's prison dimension, inter-dimensional capacities seem limited to portals. One character that can use this for instance would be

Pokemon GIF

Giratina from Pokemon.

The Satan of the Pokemon World is the god of the universe, the reverse world. It can manipulate antimatter from there. While they are very powerful Myrtle is made out of normal matter and the Celestial Being is made out of light, both of which can be erased from existence by anti-matter and they would have extreme difficulty to harming a being existing in another dimension and attacking from there.

Even if they did get in, Giratina's home dimension is it's home base, where he controls all the anti-matter, let alone it's higher level of versatility. Not only can Giratina turn intangible, but cosmically aware, can teleport etc.

Giratina could snipe at them, with anti-matter, an invisible insta-kill, from another dimension they can't see (and Giratina itself can turn invisible) and even if they did detect they would have extreme difficulty getting to it. And even if they did, Giratina would have a strong versatility advantage, albeit a bit of a speed disadvantage.

The main weakness is that Giratina becomes much weaker outside of the reverse world, meaning if it was somehow drawn outside the Reverse World, they would very likely be able to defeat it.

For a character who would be immune to said tactic as she can not truly enter the main dimension if she wanted I would suggest

Yuuko Ichihara from xxxHolic

Yuuko is above baseline universal power given her clear superiority in power to wizards who can collapse universe sized dimensions. She also exists naturally outside spacetime against her will. The verse has never shown the ability to affect a being like that while she can clearly affect the main dimension.

Yuuko would have a complete and full knowledge of what they were going to even try to do at every moment due to her god tier manipulation abilities and would be able to counter it if they were even remotely going to threaten her via reality-warping on a scale that has never been shown. She too can grant wishes though she has shown wish-granting on a much higher scale.

She can also confuse them with her extremely high intellect and her magical illusions or protect herself with magical barriers.

She would be fundamentally unkillable to the verse, just due to her many layers of defense any one of them being strong enough that it would take massive coordinated effort to get through.

Meanwhile she has soul manipulation, something the verse has no resistance too, on a range and scale to one-shot basically anyone in the verse.

For a character who would be able to do something similar but is less restricted by personality and has even more deadly offenses I would suggest

Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon.

Nehelenia is comparable in power to the top tiers given her ability to maintain her own nightmare universe. Her reactions, fast enough to react to the light of the silver crystal which can cross the universe instantly suggests she wouldn't get blitzed. However beyond that it is her abilities that would make her so broken.

Nehelenia exists in her mirror dimension and can transfer between them at will or even exist in multiple.

While at first glance it seems that this would be an easier fight since beings of sufficient power (Super Sailor Senshi level which I would estimate to be ~ Lord Dominator or Enraged Hater based on Super Sailor Moon scared Pharaoh 90 with her power who casually move a galaxy at mftl speeds) could simply enter her dimensions, this is a merely a trap, one of her many trap like abilities for this verse since she can simply trap them there.

Nehelenia can attack the main dimension from her mirror dimension. While her actual capacity to affect is drastically limited, She has mental manipulation abilities that would put even Lil' Bits to shame, and can use fate manipulation, something the verse has zero defense against to fate her enemies into losing making it literally impossible to win. If they do manage to get close to her she can even take their star seeds, ending their existence.

Nehelenia has more abilities then this, her transmutation abilities could trap the verse's fighters in the form of animals and her lemure can gradually convert the Yonder Galaxy into nightmare space, filling it with the verse's nightmares and mentally warping them.

Nehelenia while she seems like she would be easier to deal with then Yuuko, actually has her supposed weaknesses be traps for the verse, and her abundance of mind hax on a level the verse wouldn't know how to counter as well as her fate and existence erasure hax are things the verse has simply no defense against would practically ensure her victory.

And that's how to be OP in Wander over Yonder-verse.
