Naria Girls-Strategy Guide

How to be OP in Naria Girls

Yes, I am really doing this.

Planet Scale Threat:

No real reason to divide the tiers. Every named character is treated as a relevant threat to each other via hax or power with the only exception being Russian Winter admiring the raw power of the queen's daughter, though before he won against all 3 Narias via mind hax.

There exists 4 Narias associated with the seasons. The 3 Naria Girls, each a magical girl with the power of one opposes the rogue Winter Queen using the Naria of Winter and her monsters.

In terms of power there are a few feats of note. The monster Russian Winter's appearence seems to have caused a massive snowfall and Naria Summer was able to kill an army of nameless featless minions by expending her energy. Most relevantly, the disappearence of the Naria of Winter caused the lush land of Narida to fall into eternal winter showing country level power. This was the power of Naria Winter whom Naria Spring survived Naria Winter/The Winter Queen attacking her with.

In terms of speed, there's almost no showings with the most impressive being the Narias flying over a city in some unknown but seemingly short time. This would be superhuman, possibly subsonic speeds. Despite the numerous abilities the verse possesses, the biggest challenge is the odd stat combo (get ready for me to exploit the fact that some characters have low movement speed and high reaction speed).

In terms of abilities, everyone in the verse has casual fourth wall breaking. While they don't use it for any kind of tactical advantages for reasons I will explain in the weaknesses section, the Naria Girls can abuse it for a form of metafictional time manipulation by skipping to the next scene.

The Naria Girls also possess flight and seemingly the ability to travel between dimensions as Nariada the fairy world is not Earth and they traveled in some pink trippy tunnel to it. They shoot some kind of laser attack at monsters and can create some kind of barrier. Their Narias are also surprisingly hax as they can warp reality, retconning the past events and affecting both Earth and Nariada. It is revealed that the Winter Queen was Naria Spring's mother however when Naria Spring was born a stillborn, Naria Winter used all her energy to resurrect her, causing hte Naria to absorb her and transmute her into the Winter Queen.

Speaking off, the Winter Queen obviously has a passive snowstorm surrounding her that extends across Nariada. She also transmuted things into monsters. Her monsters all seem to have a form of mind hax, once per episode trapping the Naria Girls inside a bad improv scene. The monster Satou also seems to have some kind of energy-draining though I'm not quite sure what happened there.

The verse has two weaknesses, and they are both absolutely massive. First off is stamina. The Naria Girls have one of the worst staminas I have ever seen. They launched one attack and were completely out of energy and needed to gather a lot of energy from the happiness of humanity to even transform again. The Naria technically have reality-warping but they can't actually use it because it kills them to use or causes them to be absorbed and turned to monsters because they drain so much energy. Literally avoiding one or two attacks should allow any opponent to outlast them. Though this is not the biggest weakness of the verse since it only applies to the Naria Girls themselves. Also Naria Spring's emotions can recharge their Narias by themselves for some reason.

No the biggest weakness is the sheer lack of intelligence of every character. The characters regularly and completely get beat by even the most mild manipulation or stealth. A monster disguised herself as Naria Autumn's maid and despite her visible animal ears, they didn't notice she wasn't a human. The monsters regularly try to brainwash them and wait for minutes as they do their improv scene instead of attacking them.

The intelligence of the verse is so bad that unironically the biggest threat of the verse to an opponent is the Winter Queen partly because she is a mindless attacker and can't be manipulated. She also has a relevant hax, transmutation and possibly reality-warping she might use in-character and passive blizzard presence.

Overall to beat this verse a character needs the ability to survive somehow a few country level attacks, some form of stealth and manipulation, and some way to kill the Winter Queen. Inter-dimensinonal travel and mind hax or resistance are also definite pluses.

So how would be a good counter? Well I can think of a few good counters, evcn with the strange stat combo, the first being

Eric Cartman from South Park

Cartman withstood a grill explosion visible from space that would be in the country level. While his movement speed is pretty slow coming in last place in the special Olympics he can react to the movement of Fastpass who can quickly circle the world at relativistic speeds meaning he can easily react to anything in the verse.

Catman is durable to survive strikes from the verse and also has a regen factor capable of regenerating from his head exploding suggesting it would be hard for anyone from the verse to put him down. In combat he has his own mild powers and magic and could potentially beat anyone he had too in one on one. However more important is Cartman's stealth and intelligence.

Cartman has access to hammerspace and has pulled disguises out of nowhere, even ignoring the fact that even his normal state would not be viewed as a threat. He is also infamously good at manipulating, such as manipulating the wife of a psychiatrist who called him fat into comitting suicide in seconds. The ridiculously gullible characters of the verse would be incredibly easy to manipulate to his bidding.

That said Cartman's laziness and spoiledness may get the better of him. In particular the Winter Queen probably couldn't be manipulated being mindless, and his raw damage output would be low for the tier. For a more generally combat effective counter you could use

Piccolo from Dragon Ball: Evolution

Because why not counter a bad series with another bad series?

Piccolo was able to destroy a country with a casual ki blast, suggesting he would have the advantage in raw power and scales to early Goku easily, who could dodge gunfire, suggesting he could easily react to anything in the verse, countering raw attacks with raw attacks.

Piccolo also has a mild healing factor, telekinesis to literally grab away a naria or wand, and fighting skill well beyond the verse. He would be able to outstamina any of the normal fighters, using martial arts or ki blasts to deflect or dodge any of their attacks and one-shotting them in turn or removing their weapons. Even against the Winter Queen he could likely attack her from outside her range, if only by a slight bit and use his superior intellect and skill to beat her. He is basically the Winter Queen but a less hax and far better fighter

Hax really would be the only relevant threat to Piccolo.  For a character who can match the verse in power and hax, you could use

Doctor Strange from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Doctor Strange held his own against Thanos with several infinity stones, even resisting the power of the Power Gem, which should scale to the power of Thor who survived the energy of a neutron star and created a storm across Wakanda showing he would be relative to the tier in terms of raw power. He would also have massively higher reactions as he can react to the MHS fighters of the verse.

Doctor Strange's spacetime hax would be ridiculously op for anyone in the verse to deal with as the verse's only time hax requires self-sacrifice to use and is incredibly limited. Doctor Strange would be equivalent to a Living Naria albeit more versatile and skilled.

Honestly it feels somewhat unfair to put him against the verse as they have basically nothing they can do to him since he can trap them in endless time loops, bfr them into the mirror dimensions. While their haxes can also hypothetically kill them since this version has not shown resistance to transmutation (though he may have it as minor transmutation is something mages can do and he is the Sorcerer Supreme, not only is that not a common tactic but he can perfectly react to any incoming magic and warp time back with the Eye. Even beyond that he can duplicate himself to make it impossible for them to one-shot. As he stopped the sandstorm of the Q-Ship it's possible he could stop the Winter Queen's snowstorm.

To be honest he feels somewhat like overkill plus not really suited to the verse. However for the perfect counter to the verse imo, you could use

Punie-Chan from Magical Witch Punie-Chan

Punie-chan may be physically weaker then the verse but her passive charm hax is such an insanely strong counter to the verse that it basically doesn't matter. Anyone, monster included who sees her is gonna be passively mind haxed into following her will, let alone her magical abilities like summoning armies of monsters to serve her.

Also she has inter-dimensional teleportation and reality-warping that is as strong as the maxium extent a Naria has shown except while those took self-sacrifice to use, Punie can do it literally because she got a bad grade on a test.

She can also, and this is a tactic she would do, bring the naria to life and cause them to serve her, which would take away all the narias abilities including likely the Winter Queen. She is a massively more skilled and intelligent fighter then the verse meaning that if they tried to fight her, she coudl easily dodge any strike they gave and use some hax magic to beat them or casually manipulate them. Against the Winter Queen she could simply teleport in and charm the Winter Naria into joining her.

While the Naria Girls are aware of the fourth wall, Punie is aware of magical girl tropes which in this case is way better since she would know how to manipulate the verse's tropes to her advantage while the Naria girls are simply not intelligent enough to do so. While Punie is not very good at fighting multiple enemies at once, the Naria Girls also always attack as one, meaning it would be essentially the same as fighting one enemy. She can also resist the cuteness charm of her sisters, meaning that even if the verse tried to use mind hax on her, it would do nothing.

And that's how to be OP in Naria Girls

  1. well this was wacky. Naria Girls is, Not a Good Verse, But still you analyzing it like this is really fun and cool, and shows how you stick to your principle of treating every verse with respect. Funny thing is, this verse actually sounds Really tough to counter on paper at first, its got weird but decent stats, It's feats and powers apply to all the characters, its got a decently sized grabbag of hax including higher plain stuff. BUT all that gets shot in the foot with their crazily bad secondary stats, these characters can not possibly use these powers effectively with their ludicrously low intelligence, and even if they could they have only 1-2 tries before they literally keel over from exhaustion so its hard to give them that much credit. Your counters were really on point, I Especially liked Punie because she would absolutely tear this verse down and have the time of her life doing it, but also Cartman cause WOW is that a perfectly suited pic, like he might actually just manipulate all the characters into doing cool entertaining stuff for him and make the show better somehow :P

  2. Well this verse seems like the very definition of wasted superpowers :P. Yeah I can definitely tell why you wouldn’t like this series from that description. Though I think the best part of doing one of these for a verse with such massive weaknesses is that you can have fun with picking the counters, which you certainly did here. I don’t think there is a more perfect pick than Cartman; just thinking of how that scenario would play out makes me giggle. I think live action Piccolo seems pretty fitting for a counter too, even though Dragonball Evolution is bad for totally different reasons. Doctor Strange and Punie-Chan feel like more traditional counters, which unsurprisingly makes them seem like even more massive threats to this lopsided powered verse.

  3. OH MY GOD, NARIA GIRRRRRRRRRLS! You are one of only 3 people I know who've seen this series, and two of these people are myself and the poor bloke I roped into watching it with me. You really are setting out to see all the magical girl genre has to offer, haven't you? Ah, this brings back so many memories. So many stupid, ridiculous memories...

It was really great seeing your hallmark thoroughness get applied to this wacky series. Not very much to work with, but you clearly gleaned all you could! Magical girl series always amaze me at how powerful they can be. Even these doofuses are deadlier than a nuclear warhead! Well, maybe not. Those are some pretty crippling weaknesses. Through clever manipulation the Naria Girls might even fall to an ordinary human being! The idiocy was obvious, but I forgot about that huge stamina weakness. Ah, and I love how you mentioned the improv scenes several times! One of my favorite parts.

Alright, so counters. Sounds like any character who had the appropriate stats would be able to handle this verse, as having significantly more competency would be nigh-guaranteed. I imagine stats-matching was probably the trickiest part of this. Right outta the gate I was laughing as much as if I was watching a NG episode; Eric flippin' Cartman! Outstanding, I wish someone could make this a real South Park episode. He's probably my favorite counter here. I didn't recognize that Piccolo at all, I guess I suppressed my memories of that "film". Very impressive counter though; he seems perfectly tuned to wipe this verse out with precision. Doctor Strange was a surprise, though everything about this blog was pretty surprising I suppose :P His time hax is so good here, and it's sort of crazy that there's a hypothetical chance of him dying. I'd lean in favor of him being to handle transmutation like that, but I get your proposition there and it's outlined well. I don't know Punie-chan, but that mind hax is insane! I love it! I'd like to learn more about her, she sounds like an amusing girl who'd turn this verse into a plaything before destroying it.

I can still scarcely believe this blog exists, but here I am commenting on it. Thank you Imp, for your brave service in watching Naria Girls and for taking the time to analyze all of its strengths and weaknesses. I'll pray for you.
