Death Prediction: Sister Jill vs Midnight

Content Warning: Due to the nature of both characters the blog contains adult content inappropriate for children. If such offends, then caution is advised before proceeding.

Superheroes and Supervillains. The Gods and Demigods of the Modern Age. What do you imagine when you think of them? Stoic, valiant warriors of justice? Repulsive, cruel shadows of society's underbelly? Or perhaps...some seductive sadistic dominatrix.

Sister Jill, demon field leader of Panther Claw.

Midnight, the R-Rated Hero.

I'm Imperator100 and this is a Death Prediction.

Sister Jill:

Outside our universe in another dimension there exists a race of demonic beings resembling large cats. The god of this dimension is the monstrous witch Zora. Zora, wishing to spread her chaos and darkness into the other dimensions sent some of her panthers into the main dimension, giving them humanoid forms. This was the birth of Panther Claw, a supernatural crime organization spreading mayhem and death, stalking like a panther in the night, from the wilds of the Amazon to the streets of Tokyo. And like any crime organization, Panther Claw needed a leader.

Sent across dimensions by Zora was her second in command, a new darkness in the form of a cat, the cruel Sister Jill. Sister Jill was a loyal follower of Zora's mission to spread fear and anarchy in the human realm, satisfying her personal vanity and cruelty along the way. The only one to be able to oppose them was the warrior of love, the android superheroine Cutie Honey.

Demon Panther Physiology:

Jill's physiology is vastly different then a human's due to being a demon panther. Her cells seem to be some form of living malevolence that can rapidly shift or recombine. She can shapeshift into a panther able to stand on it's hindlegs, a seemingly normal cat, or her true demon panther form. She also shifted one of her breasts to becoming a demon jaw. When Jill was bisected, her upper half rapidly mutated into a bat creature and flew off, while her lower half ran off after to recombine with her upper half. These two parts would regenerate into a full Sister Jill which would qualify as low-mid regen, although it's not particularly combat use-able. It is likely this part of his physiology that gains strength while in the panther dimension. While in the panther dimension, Jill's power is at least doubled and she gains the ability to duplicate into 5 separate Jills, although this wouldn't apply in most fights.

It is via her demon cells that Sister Jill creates new members of Panther Claw. She can bestow the "powers of darkness" on a mortal woman by protruding a bug-like tongue and placing it inside the mouth of her victim or protrude a phallus from her groin and inject into a mortal woman to bestow the "strength of the occult kingdom." Those infected this way become mutated by her demon cells and invariably become her minions. While those infected this way are considered part of Jill to the point she can feel their pain and she can control their bodies, they retain their free will, to the point of being able to attempt to rebel against each other. She can possess them but only after they've willingly synchronized their minds to hers.

Jill's demon physiology also gives her physical capacities far beyond a normal human. Even a normal human in the cutie honey universe can punch through a tree and even the first enemy of Panther Claw had a claw that could "tear through anything." If one takes the average preferred hand volume of 379.7 cubic centimeters and the energy to fragment titanium of 550 joules per cubic centimeters then this is a feat that would require over 200 kilojoules and scales to probably every named member of Panther Claw and pre-timeskip Cutie Honey. Sister Jill obviously scales above, as all of their power comes from her. Sister Jill's fangs and claws are strong enough to seriously injure Cutie Honey and even after the 30 year timeskip where Honey grew stronger, were able to cause Cutie Honey pain meaning she may scale to post-timeskip Angel Honey reducing a member of Panther Claw to ash with an attack, a feat that would take over 243 megajoules. Durability wise Jill is at least durable enough to withstand numerous strikes from Pre-Time Skip Honey and can tank small arms fire.

Fire-Breathing:

Possibly due to her demon physiology and possibly due to magic, Jill can breathe fire. This would almost certainly scale to lesser Panther Claw's fire such as Fire Claw stating she can create fire that would reduce Honey to ash and Dragon Panther, Jill's original second in command reducing a human to ash. This would be at least be the above value of over 243 megajoules, although could be even higher if you consider they thought they could reduce even an android like Honey to ash.

Magic:

Sister Jill has learned dark magic from her master Zora. She is called an expert in witchcraft and alongside the possibly magical power bestowal and fire-breathing she has displayed the ability to create illusory copies of herself and can put a barrier around people to make them invisible. It's possible her magic extends far beyond this as a base for Panther Claw that was an 80 story building apparently spontaneously disappeared after a defeat. However as this was never said to be explictily Jill's doing, and because a very similar feat happened in the original manga that was explicitly the work of Zora, I think it's safe to assume this was the doing of Zora.

Equipment:

Jill uses a whip as a weapon, proficiently enough that it can be used against Honey as a weapon. Also Panther Claw in the original manga were called "cyborgs" suggesting at least part of their humanoid bodies are made of metal.

Intelligence:

Sister Jill is known for her sinister intellect. She was the leader of the crime organization Panther Claw reaching across Japan, a crime organization so powerful its claw scattered the fortunes of peoples and even destroyed an entire nation.

Weaknesses:

In nature, panthers are ambush predators that tend to attack an unsuspecting enemy before it can run away and kill it quickly. As such they focus on having speed, stealth, and overwhelming offensive power rather than much in the way of defense and Panther Claw are quite similar. It's surprisingly consistent that Panther Claw members cannot take their own attacks. The aforementioned Fire Claw and Dragon Panther were both killed by having their own fire used on them. Bullets are consistently treated as threats to Panther Claw and while Jill has the relatively impressive feat of being able to tank small arms fire, machine gun fire still tears through her. Even when in the Panther Dimension where Jill's strength is at least doubled, Honey can pretty easily penetrate through her entire body. Likewise, while her regen may seem extremely strong being able to regenerate from being horizontally bisected; to do so would take a week according to Jill making it pretty unusable in combat. It's also consistent that damage to the brain will kill Jill completely requiring Zora to resurrect her. This is how she died at the end of both the original manga and the sequel manga; Honey put a sword through her brain and Honey pierced her brain with her knight armor. Basically, Jill's meant for offense, speed, and stealth and isn't made for taking attacks from people on her level.

Beyond that Jill psychologically is quite unstable and is prone to fits of narcissism and vanity. She is easily distracted by pretty things, possibly because the panther dimension is filled with ugliness. One time her arch-enemy Honey's henshin device malfunctioned leaving her naked. Honey attempted to fix it for several pages while Jill watched. Instead of attacking Honey, Jill spent the entire time transfixed by how beautiful Honey was.

Personality:

Sister Jill is stated to be the beauty and savagery of the panther itself. She is a living paradox of both monstrousness and elegance, a violent often savage sociopath and a refined criminal mastermind. Much like the wild panther is a thing of beauty and danger, Jill is that which transfixes our mind even as we tremble from its threat.

Jill is characterized as greedy and lustful; a creature whose claws stretch out across nations to take anything pretty it wants and hoard it for herself. There is no why, there is no use she would get from it, she just wants to have it to possess it to fulfill her desire for control. Anything that stands in that way of that goal invites her cruel vengeance and the sudden pounce and shining final flash of the panther's fangs.

Midnight:

Training under a pro hero clearly inspired by Prince, Nemuri Kayama (Hero Name: Midnight) was a sensual, artistic, and expressive heroine that sought to push the boundaries of what was acceptable. Due to her quirk working better the more of her skin is exposed, her first costume consisted of her being almost entirely naked, a costume called the "Birthday Suit", a costume she designed to be "bold yet practical" and a "functional beauty." This caused the government to create the Hero Costume Skin Exposure Limit Act to limit how much skin a superhero costume could show, although in defiance of this new rule Midnight's new costume is completely flesh-colored.

While her fight against social norms may not have been that successful, she became a very successful crime fighter, even become one of the teachers at the prestigious hero school U.A. where she sought to help teach the next generation of heroes.

(Fun Note, when the MHA manga is showing silhouettes of the heroes that appeared during the age of heroes, one of them is Devilman, a Go Nagai series which has crossed over with Cutie Honey meaning that in MHA terms, Cutie Honey is canon and this fight could potentially have happened)

Physical Capabilities:

As a heroine, Midnight possesses superhuman physical capabilities. While she doesn't particularly focus on power relative to her verse with a Power Rating in the Ultra Archive of 2/5, she has the same power rating as Uraraka in the Ultra Archive suggesting she should have a similar durability to Uraraka or at least an early Uraraka. During the Sports Festival Uraraka withstood at least 3 explicitly full power attacks from Bakugo and even after the fourth one remains standing for a bit. It is an explict plot point that Bakugo out of respect was using his full power against Uraraka. Later when Bakugo fights Shoto using his full power it is explicitly mentioned he was using the same power he used against Uraraka. While Bakugo is obviously nowhere near the height of his power or even the power he would have later in the UA Beginnings Saga, he is still obviously stronger than he was in chapter 1 when trying to free him from the sludge villain he created an explosion larger then nearby buildings. This has been calced to over 2.6 gigajoules or 0.63 tons of tnt.

Midnight was also hit by debris moving very quickly launched by the villain Mr. Compress and while highly damaged was still able to move. The stone part of the debris is roughly an elliptical prism the height of a door which likely the standard door height of 2 meters. While the full dimensions are a bit hard to tell, being hit by a mass of stone this size at any reasonable speed would equate to a high kilojoules feat, and assuming it is moving at anything comparable to Midnight's speed, it would be in the low gigajoules, similar to the above feat. Mr. Compress is notably also listed as being at 2 in power similar to Midnight, suggesting that since his attack was able to significantly damage Midnight, that her attack potency is likely in a similar range.

Speedwise Midnight is listed at 3, while Deku in the original Ultra Archive is listed at 1, presumably without using One for All. This is more impressive than it might seem as Deku was able to move several meters to protect Uraraka from Shinso's weapon throw when it was already near her while not using One for All. This has been calced at Mach 1.44. This is consistent with how 5% Deku is treated as not a massive increase in power who was easily able to dodge lots of close-range bullets from assault and sniper rifles.

Quirk:

Like most of the populace of the MHA universe, Midnight has a unique ability called a "quirk." Midnight's is called "Somnambulist" where she emits a scent that puts people to sleep. It works better on guys. The more of Midnight's skin is exposed, the more potent this ability is.

Somnambulist is actually more versatile than it seems, as it is actually more like controlling the actions and physical states of people and is able to pacify people, persuade them or put them to sleep, presumably by afflicting them with various levels of drowsiness.

Initially this quirk did almost nothing on girls however this was a very early Midnight. Midnight was able to use it to put the female Kazuko and the bee parasite within her to sleep although for girls it still seems to require her to be in melee range, while it can affect boys as far away as they can smell it.

Equipment:

In combat Midnight primarily uses a whip as a weapon, with such proficiency she can make it spiral in on a target in combat. She also uses fans as a weapon to create a wind primarily to spread her Somnambulist scent. Midnight also wears a fashionable superhero outfit the material of which is designed to rip easily so she can quickly allow her scent and thus her quirk to work better, and is flesh-colored because Midnight wanted to be provocative.

Intelligence:

Midnight is an intelligent and experienced hero who teaches art history at the hero school U.A. and helps the heroes in training design their costumes. Probably her most important intelligence feat is she was the one to come up with the plan to stop Gigantomachia. Ultra Analysis gives her the max score for technique, showing her skill is considered at least in the top tier in the verse, including heroes that have trained for numerous generations such as Gran Torino, who is listed as having the same level of technique as Midnight in both the Ultra Archive and Ultra Analysis. Gran Torino for comparison was able to agile-y defeat Twice, Magnum, and Spinner with skill and had trained multiple generations of heroes. Despite her relative lack of power, Midnight is stated to be one of the greatest heroes of Japan and when the heroes in training had to defeat one of the pro heroes to pass a tess, Midnight was listed as one of the four highest hurdles. All of this suggests Midnight is likely a highly skilled fighter coming from her massive experience.

Midnight uses her intelligence and her beauty in combination to create her legendary charisma. She is known for her ability to gain the trust of others and end conflict before they begin and back in the earlier days of superheroing when some vigilante action was illegal, Midnight would smooth over things with the authorities. In the Ultra Analysis she is given the max score, 6/6 or S Rank in "Sexiness."

Weaknesses:

Midnight as mentioned a few times lacks a lot of raw power for a hero of her caliber relying more on technique then force. Her quirk is less effective on girls and can be avoided by not breathing in, although this obviously comes with its own set of problems as generally most people require breathing to survive.

Midnight also possesses a few psychological weaknesses. She can be somewhat impatient and can draw out fights for sadistic pleasure, a combination that allowed her to be outwit by Mineta once. Also like any true hero, Midnight prioritizes saving innocent lives over winning a fight.

Personality:

Midnight's favorite things are stated to be "vibrant youth" and "thrills." She's an enthusiastic and expressive woman who seeks to follow her teacher's legacy and encourage others to express themselves to the fullest and to be fashionable but functional. While she is a bit of a sadist and take her sexual obsession a bit too far, she is also encouraging and courageous in the face of adversity.

While it's not commented on nearly as much Midnight has a protective loving side as well, shown when she forgives people for youthful indiscretions, encouraging Kaminari when his nerves get the best of him and (Major BNHA Spoilers ahead) her last action before her death reaffirming to Momo that she believes in her. If some of the major themes in My Hero Academia are the burdens of societal expectations, the will to be a light of hope and inspiration for others, and the difficulty of balancing one's personal identity with the identity one shows to society, Midnight is an icon showing how a hero is someone who expresses herself to the fullest and in doing so lights the path for others to come into their own.

Alright, the combatants are set. It's time for a death prediction!

Night in Musutafu. The pools of inky blackness in this modern metropolis like the hide of a sleek animal carried with it promises of potential brimming with adventure and threat. The moon hung close to the horizon, it's gentle beams sliding diagonally over the strange goings on within the city tonight, illuminating and distorting events.

Under those stray streaks of light, Sister Jill prowled after her recent resurrection. The panther slid silently in the shadows her burning eyes piercing night's veil. As she stalked quietly into the park, she gave a silent rejoice seeing a cute little couple sitting together on a park bench. The girl's neck flesh was exposed and looked silky and beautiful. Jill praised Zora in her mind for this.

The girl saw her first and gave off a stereotypical scream and the two quickly ran away in fear in the direction Jill had prompted them by angle of attack, into a secluded alley where she could confirm the kill. As Jill shifted her from into a more humanoid form and allowed her claws to protrude from her humanoid hands, her fingers creased slightly imagining piercing into the little morsels.

Unbeknownst to her however, the events were under watch. Midnight had been on patrol when she had seen a panther prowling the streets. This was a cat species unlike any she had ever seen, and she tailed the creature waiting. Seeing the creature change forms Midnight thought to herself how bizarre a quirk this villainess had.

Jill had cornered the two between two old warehouses, watching the girl cower in fear and the boy look for something, anything to defend them. Jill teased the two of them a little, bare-ing her fangs and approaching slowly but her heart beating in anticipation pounced on the two of them...

only to hit nothing in the air. Crashing through the window an elegant shadow had darted in, grabbed the two of them and moved them out of the way. Jill looked around in surprise only to find the figure, still crouched in silhouette had maneuvered her targets around her.

Midnight held the civilians tight as she performed a 270 degree swing with her whip expertly, bringing the two civilians to behind the villainess. She told them to run and find cover, blowing an extra kiss to the cute boy as she did so before turning back to her enemy who loomed at her menancingly.

"So..." Midnight said, her tone confident and breathy "You've been a bad pussy cat? I guess that means I'll have to punish you."

Jill felt her mouth water at the beautiful figure before her and lightly ran her tongue over her lips. "What a beautiful form, I was hoping to get the girl but you'll do much better."

Fight!

Fast as the fall of night, Midnight brought out her whip and cracked it at her enemy with a crack splitting the tense air.

The attack came swift, but Jill seeing it incoming quickly dodged to the left and decided to retaliate in turn, bringing out her own whip and attempted to grab the heroine's mid-section. Better trained in the subtle motions of the whip, Midnight easily sidestepped the first whip crack, and leapt above the second.

Jill's eyes widened in recognition that her bait had been taken and switching to panther form she pounced on the heroine's beautiful form. Midnight winced slightly in pain from the panther's claws and almost out of instinct went into a combat roll in midair, kicking the panther's side with her heeled boots. A powerful wave of force and pain split into Jill's side as she was kicked into the city streets. She felt her cells rushing to heal her bruised side. Meanwhile Midnight landed with a thud on the stone streets.

The panther Jill rushed sideways down the streets into the obscuring shadows unilluminated by the streetlights. Midnight quickly pursued but lost her in the confusion. She stopped near the bright booming lights of the city's party district, the exertion exhausting her. A cat crept out of the shadows slowly, looking at her.

Midnight gave a sigh and playfully asked the cat "Neko-chan, do you know where the big bad panther lady went?" reaching down to pet her only for the cat to ball up and shifting to humanoid form again attempted to bite Midnight's neck but experienced with surprise attacks Midnight brought her fist sideways hitting off-center Jill's chest flinging her backwards into a nearby tree.

The r-rated hero blinked in shock while Jill got up again, her body heavily pained by the assaults and her eyes blazing with fury.

The leader of the Panther Claw growled lowly, this human was showing strength far above what she had expected and her body cried out in pain. However, she was a master of strategy and witchcraft and giving a malicious grin slipped behind a barrier of invisibility.

Midnight gave a surprised yelp as Jill suddenly seemed to disappear into thin air and looked around in confusion. Changing forms AND turning invisible? Could these both somehow be her quirk... did she have backup from someone else?

Suddenly from behind the loud CRACK of a whip as a whip slammed into Midnight who was thrown into a metal fence, bending it. She got up quickly but again saw nothing for a second whip strike to hit her in the side, causing her side to burn in pain. The panther claw leader grinned sadistically, this "hero" had pained her dearly and know she would know even greater pain.

Strike after strike came, with Midnight barely able to dodge some, and some hitting her squarely. Midnight's mind drifted back and remembered watching Toru train. To exploit her invisibility, she had always gotten closer than otherwise feasible to do greater damage, relying on invisibility for defense. Deciding to take a chance, Midnight tore a hole in her costume and allowed her quirk to come alive.

Right behind her, Jill stopped for a moment seeing the r-rated heroine tear her clothes. What a beauty she was....it was a shame she'd have to die for her insolence as Jill would enjoy greatly enslaving this beautiful body and will to Jill's desires...however lost in thought she hadn't noticed a gentle scent invading her nose, lulling her into a daze. Without thinking Jill's grip loosened and her whip dropped.

Hearing the sound behind her, Midnight pirouetted and threw her entire form forward, slamming into Jill's body, throwing the two of them into the nearest building. Loud music and blaring lights assaulted the senses in the casino everyone stopped to watch what was going on.

Midnight, holding the villainess down with her great strength raised her head and said "Please find cover, I'm battling an invisible super-villainess." Jill taking advantage of Midnight's momentary distraction shifted herself into a cat and escaped into the chaotic rushing of people. Midnight looked around desperately but couldn't find her enemy in the chaos. Midnight quickly climbed and leapt up to the overlooking balcony and called out "here kitty kitty" making a come-hither gesture and with an expression to match "let's finish this"

Jill in cat form saw the display and laughed to herself. "Does this fool think she can catch ME in a trap?" Jill had quickly learned that she should avoid getting so close, though this left her options limited. The leader of the panther claw manifested several illusory panthers which quickly approached Midnight's position.

Upon seeing them, Midnight flipped her hair in a dismissive gesture and said, "There there kittens, there's more than enough of me for all of you." The illusions tried to pounce and keep Midnight off-guard but though she didn't know that none of them were the real Jill, Midnight used her whip with the skill of a lion-tamer on the entire area.

Under a barrier of invisibility, the real Jill had made her way to the underneath the balcony and clawed at the support beam. Midnight stuck out her hands to balance herself but soon found the entire balcony gave way causing her to painfully fall through a glass counter that was underneath, the impact force and several small glass shards painfully ripping at her skin.

Jill saw this as her chance and fangs bared leapt at that.... beautiful.....milky.......neck of Midnight's. The heroine saw the panther leap out from invisibility and performed an expert reversal, spinning to one side and making a sweeping arc brought her heeled boot onto Jill's head, pushing her face into the ground.

As Midnight pressed her heel into the panther's face she gave a hearty laugh. She could just kill whatever this monster was but now she had the opportunity for a little payback, painfully pressing her heel into Jill's face till blood appeared and pressing her other foot into Jill's midsection.

"Oh, what's that?" Midnight said, flushed with power. "I couldn't hear that. Can't quite get it out? Stuck on that edge? Midnight-sensei will certainly help you." before lifting the boot slightly off Jill's head, keeping her other firmly placed on Jill's midsection holding her down.

Jill had been considering escaping via separating her body, though aware that would severely weaken her, but after having her mouth freed, she got an another option and instead of reply breathed a torrent of flame which flowed from her mouth like a tsunami. Midnight reflexively brought her arms up to protect her face, but the force of the fire knocked Midnight away, the fire quickly catching in the casino.

Midnight rose, her face burning and smoke filling her lungs to see a hellish site. The building was quickly catching fire and scared civilians were running to and from, some already having fire leap onto their clothes. She quickly rushed into action trying her best to save civilians. She physically brought civilians to safely and fans the flamed away from people as best she could.

However, while she was in the process of that she heard a panther growl and felt herself pushed from behind by Jill's pounce, throwing the two into the center of the burning Casino like a gladiatorial arena. The smokey form of the panther prowled at the apex, as though its smokey form billowed up from the flames of Hell. From the smoke came more panthers, illusions.

Midnight's breath was caught, partly from worry and partly from the smoke.  She quickly pressed her might into her fans to try and push the panthers away and seeing only one of them press their claws into the ground knew the others were fakes.

Feeling the wind begin to push her back into the fire, Jill threw her entire might into a single pounce, pushing Midnight to the ground and clawing at her form desperately, scratching her midsection as she shifted to her human form. Jill could feel herself growing hazy from sleep but the burning smokey air made it harder to smell. In horror, Midnight watched some strange bug-like tongue protrude from Jill's mouth. The heroine brought her right arm fan upwards with all her might and watched in amazement and disgust as it tore clean through Jill's arm, blood spurting from Jill's side and making her yell and scream in pain.

Jill used her left arm to push herself away and stumbled into the smoke. Midnight tried to follow but as she did Jill's disembodied arm attacked as an animate claw, scratching at Midnight's back, distracting the heroine temporarily.

Jill's breath caught in her throat. "Zora..." she thought to herself "Bestow upon me your devil witchcraft and the malfortune of my enemy...she is strong.... but there is one way where she is weak."

Midnight had finally pacified the raging claw when from the smoke she saw Jill in human form return, however her left arm was enclosed around the neck of an unconscious old man.

"Don't move." Jill said angrily, all hints of prior playfulness gone. "Geezer's alive...for now. One wrong step though and his throat is crushed."

The flames licked at Midnight's side, inviting her into the Inferno. Midnight had been in hostage situations before but this one was unlike any before. Midnight raised her hands in surrender "Don't do it."

Jill's eyes gleamed with sadistic happiness. "Why shouldn't I?" and her fangs grew closer to his neck.

Midnight looked at the poor old man and said "You wanted me to serve you? Let him live and I promise I will do what you say."

Jill's eyes gleamed dangerously. A trap? But...this girl was a "hero" like Honey....and even ravaged by battle her form was seductive indeed.

Jill threw the old man to the ground roughly. "Fine then." But as she pounced again, her bug tongue extended, Midnight grabbed Jill with her whip. Jill looked to the whip in surprise "But..."

Midnight shook her head "You're really ill-informed, coercion doesn't equal consent." Jill quickly tried to separate her upper body and lower section but Midnight ducked the strike of the upper section, kicking the lower section into the fire. Jill's upper end half morphed into a strange bat-like creature, it's edges sharp and jagged and scratched at Midnight's upper form but Midnight's form disappeared again in the dark. Through the mysterious dark and the burning smoke and the shine of Midnight's belt and the silky sexiness of her skin and the haze....that damned drowzy haze...Jill hovered uncertain in the air. Using a quick whip strike, Midnight struck the bat-like form of Jill into the fire. As Jill's brain blazed within the inferno she had unleashed, her demon essence disappeared once again into the mysterious dimension from whence it came.

The r-rated heroine quickly took the prone man on the ground outside as the passion-red rays of the sun broke through the dark night sky over the horizon. She quickly called in support for the raging fire and medical attention for the civilians nearby.

K.O.

In this fight Jill definitely has more advantages overall that said one of Midnight's few advantages is so overwhelming that it almost wins this fight for her by itself that being the sheer difference in raw power between the two.

Jill's best attack potency scaling is being some unknown amount above the energy to turn a person to ash, which is 243 megajoules while Midnight likely scales to Uraraka who was able to take numerous attacks from a Bakugo stronger than the one who created an explosion larger then buildings calced at 2.6 gigajoules, a difference of about 10.7 times. For comparison, the difference between the average human punch and the peak human punch is about 10 times. Jill punching Midnight full force would be like an average human punching a UFC heavyweight world champion full force. Yeah, it might sting a little but it's not gonna do any real damage. For another comparison using actual cats, lions bites produce energy on the low end of 30 kilojoules while an elephant's charge is on the low end 120 kilojoules, 4x stronger...and there's a reason lions only hunt elephants when it's a pack of lions hunting a juvenile or sick elephant.

But Jill would still be able to sort of physically compete, if not for her glass cannon nature. Jill's best durability feat is taking numerous strikes from pre-time skip Honey who scales to Black Claw's 200 kilojoules feat, a level of power 13,000 times weaker than Bakugo's restrained chapter 1 explosion. If Midnight had even 1% of this striking power, she would be hitting Jill with as much force as a grenade would on a normal human. Jill has regen but it's got no feats, let alone ones that would suggest it could keep up with that. She can survive being cut in half, but it clearly is tactical disadvantageous for that to happen. Even the victory bots that were a test to get into U.A. called "quick but fragile" can smash through a wall calced at 20 megajoules given their size, which would be 100 times that of Black Claw's feat.

It might sound strange given Jill is one of the strongest in her verse while Midnight is relatively speaking lacking in raw power within her verse. However, the difference in power is pretty clear cut between the two verses. Bullets are consistently treated like a credible threat to almost everyone in Cutey Honey including to Pre-Timeskip Honey, which is the only version of Honey Jill has ever physically beaten. Jill's ability to tank small arm fire is treated as impressive and she still dies to large arms fire. Conversely characters in MHA regularly fire out elemental or physical attacks much stronger than gunfire in both potency and area of effect more closely resembling the energy of large amounts of tnt. Midnight might be kind of lacking in power relative to her verse but it was considered an oddity and an impressive achievement that Shoto was beyond most Pro Heroes during the Sports Festival so it's likely most Pro Heroes scale to at least the mid tiers of the Sports Festival Arc, something you'd expect in terms of lore regardless.

If the two were more similar in power or if Jill had any notable way to win besides that, Jill would probably win as she has more advantages overall, but this level of raw power is such a big advantage it kind of dwarfs Jill's advantages. It would actually be relatively hard for Midnight to kill Jill outside a headshot. Not only does Jill have her regen/endurance/shapeshifting combination that comes from demon physiology, but she has invisibility, the ability to create illusions and is easily the smarter of the two and could manipulate Midnight particularly by exploiting her impulsiveness or her heroic nature like Jill does to Honey.

But the problem comes with the fact that Midnight is gonna get her eventually and Jill has no practical way to win. Could Jill just hang invisibly and try to wear her down that way? Hypothetically yes, but the problem is Jill's invisibility comes with creating a barrier around her meaning if she tried to whip Midnight, the whip would leave the barrier and give away her position. Jill could try to use her infection ability or attack one of Midnight's more sensitive areas like her eyes, groin, neck, etc. with her fangs but the problem is both of options require her to get into melee range which is the exact range that Somnambulist works for women meaning, especially if Midnight's clothing has been torn by whip strikes, Jill would try to and quickly fall asleep in the attempt. This is especially so because Jill has no prior knowledge of Midnight and wouldn't know to avoid melee at first or even if she doesn't fall asleep the first time, wouldn't know what's going on and how to avoid it. It's possible it could work even more effectively on Jill as cats have a greater sense of smell then humans do although this is speculation. Midnight's feat of using it on a bee parasite does show at the very least it would work on Jill regardless of different physiology. Midnight could also hypothetically use her fans to direct her quirk at Jill from a distance or to fan away a fire attack sent by Jill.

Plus both use a whip as a weapon. Whips have never been battlefield weapons as they are very bad at being force multipliers since the force of one's strength is being distributed across the length of the whip. However only one of these combatants needs a force multiplier with Midnight's strikes still having significant force along the whip for Jill with the inverse not being true. The closest weapon in history to the whip used on the battlefield was the Indian Urumi, basically being a very long piece of steel made very flexible so it bended like a whip. The Urumi was never used as a primary weapon, only ever fastened to one's belt and brought out in a skirmish when surrounded by numerous enemies to keep them back as the whip while lacking in destructive power what it does have is unpredictability and reach, which gives Midnight an edge against Jill's illusions as she would be able to use the whip as area denial. And given the strength difference Midnight's whip strikes would be if not fatal then be heavily damaging to Jill while the inverse is more likely to sting then do any serious damage.

Midnight seems to be faster than Jill as Jill's feats are mostly baseline supersonic. Deku in base performed a Mach 1.44 feat which is most likely similar to Honey's feat of blocking a bullet with a body, however Jill is only shown to be relative to Honey rather than equal and Midnight is faster than base Deku. Midnight is also a lot more skilled than Jill, to about the same degree that Jill is smarter then Midnight. This means that whenever Jill tries to do Midnight is more likely able to counter and quickly hit Jill then the inverse, and given the power difference Jill really can't afford to be hit by Midnight.

This is a fight that would likely go on for a bit, as both characters are sadists that enjoy causing pain, and both can be distracted from fighting. However that leads into Midnight's last advantage and arguably the biggest outside the power difference. Jill can be distracted at any point in the fight by Midnight's sexuality or possibly the pretty jewelry on Midnight has on her belt as part of her costume, aided by any mind-altering happening from Midnight's quirk. The inverse would also be true at the start of the fight, Midnight could be distracted by her impulsivity and sadism. However, this only apples when Midnight thinks she's fighting for fun. When civilians are endangered Midnight takes the fight seriously and tries to do whatever she can to stop the fight as quickly as possible to preserve lives as seen in the fight against Gigantomachia. There would likely be a turning point where Midnight realizes Jill's cruelty and the immediate threat to any civilians nearby and switch to trying to end the fight as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This isn't even considering the possibility of Midnight scaling to 5% Deku's feat that would put Midnight at 82x stronger than Jill's attack potency or the contested MHS Kaminari scaling both of which but especially the latter would make this an absolute stomp for Midnight.

Jill is more versatile and could be very difficult for Midnight to actually land a decisive blow on, but Midnight's raw power, hero training, and determination to protect others would allow her to outlast and eventually defang the deadly panther.

The winner is...Midnight

Thank you to my friend Thor for making this really cool next time trailer and for providing the soundtrack for this fight.

  1. That was the Best Cat Fight I've ever seen, pun intended! Wow what A match, I was on the brink of my mind reading those analysis sections trying to figure out who'd win weighing their different advantages and disadvantages and for a pretty low tier fight they had Quite a lot of those. I like how the advantages they had were reminiscent of the classic advantages you'd expect from a superhero and supervillain. When i think of villains i think of super genius masterminds with versatile almost cheating abilities, and when i think of Heros i think physical powerhouse, super skilled, lots of charm and charisma, and these two reflected that perfectly. It was difficult for me to choose a winner here, mostly because I overestimated that Fire Breathe it seems, but i am quite happy i called it right, not just because I wanted to be right but because WOW is Midnight the good guy in this situation. The Fight scene was Really freaking Cool and an excellent crossover between the two series, I like how they constantly kept eachother on their toes, what with Jill having Multiple Quirks by midnight's understanding, and Midnight being Way stronger than any human should. The Disriptions you gave really filled it with intensity and i enjoyed you use of changing set pieces and their dialogue as they tried to outwit eachother and remain the one in the dominant position and that ending was just brutal as all hell! I Loved it. Needless to say I agreed with that reasoning, but you just have such a way of making things crystal clear, especially with using real world analogies to hit home Just how much of a strength advantage Midnight logically had, which i often feel can get diluted when we are just using numbers. I had such a fun time reading this Imp and am so happy that you made it, I've been looking forward to it for awhile and it more than met the hype, Super pumped for Momoko next time!

  2. Very entertaining blog Imp! The matchup is very creative as usual. Nice to see you do a battle with a hero/villain dynamic instead of one with characters of a relatively similar moral compass. I particularly think it’s cool that you chose 2 manga characters from series created in totally different decades (call it silly, but just the comparison of how a manga from the 70s treats a sexualized superhero/supervillain compared to a 2010’s manga is kinda interesting to me). Most importantly though, I think you succeeded in making both seem like compelling characters. The personality sections. are turning into one of things I enjoy reading the most in your blogs; it always feels like you analyze not just their fighting capabilities but also their design as a character and make a cohesive picture of them that is really compelling to read.

Sister Jill was very...interesting. My previous experience with Go Nagai is limited to the recent Devilman Crybaby anime, but I can tell Jill is a very on-brand character for the mangaka (to the point that it’s surprising to me that this is a Cutie Honey character). The panther comparison is surprisingly apt for the character. Midnight seems like a pretty cool character. She has an oddly specific superpower, but it sounds like the series wove it into a compelling character who teaches the value of self expression. MHA is a series that I’ve had some amount of interest in getting into and if this is any kind of indication of what the other characters are like in the series, then I really oughta give it a try at some point. Though I gotta say, if Midnight is the R rated hero, then Jill is the X rated villain :P.

The fight was great. I think the part that stood out to me the most was when Midnight knocked Jill’s arm off to both of their surprise. Despite Jills advantages, I think that succinctly showed the difference of power between them. I also like how you weaved the civilians into the battle, showing Midnight’s difference in attitude when innocent people become involved. The post battle analysis was also very well explained; after all those comparisons to real life weapons and power differences, I have no doubt that you have the right winner. So amazing job :)
