Random Issue Battle 4

 Time for another installment of random issue battle. This is going to be taking two characters and determing who would win with the caveat that both only get the feats from a single random issue/episode/level etc. of their series. Scaling is allowed but scaling towards feats that happened in that issue/episode/level.

Using the random battle picker to pick a random death prediction I have done I got Mami vs Panty. That's interesting...both characters don't have that large a selection going just from Puella Magi's main series, meaning they're both fairly likely to get at least something of a good feat. I think best case for Mami off the top of my head might be the fight against Gertrud or maybe the timelines ep that could give Mami a signifigant amount to scale off of. For Panty best ep to get would be the moon one probably so she could scale to Stocking's feat of being sneezed out by the moon....not really sure.

Starting with Mami, I use a number randomizer to get a random ep and I get episode 3. That's...oddly fitting given the character in question. So she'll basically get feats from the Charlotte encounter.

• Episode starts with Mami wiping out a witch maintaining a dimension that off visuals was probably building sized via Tiro Finale (3:00)
• Telepathic Sensing with Kyubey saying he can guide Mami through the shortest path of a witch's labyrinth via their telepathy (11:22)
• Mami binds Homura (13:45)
• Mami demonstrates superhuman skill and reaction time using one gun after another to defeat familiars in sequence while spinning like a dance (18:20)
• Mami seemingly creates larger hand-cannons (18:35)
• Hits the witch Charloette with her gun a long distance suggesting superhuman strength (19:18)
• Demonstrates Tiro Finale (19:40)

So overall Mami has some pretty good feats for one of these in this episode. She has superhuman physicals likely, from jumping and punching long distances, she has binding she has superhuman speed/reaction time/skill, can summon lots of guns, and can shoot an ultimate attack that's at least in the building range. It's possible that there's more as Charlotte's labyrinth seemed to extended farther then a building, Homura was able to kill Charlotte and Mami seemed confident in her ability to beat Homura but I'm not sure Mami would scale to Homura within just this ep.

So for Panty I use the random number generator and get episode 11....I don't think there's any good feats for Panty that ep, that's Garter's backstory ep and the one where they are lounging around all ep right?

• It's implied the Angels could have dispatched a bunch of ghosts, 1 of which might be of signifigant size though the cartoony perspective makes it kind of hard to tell (1:20)
• Panty avoids a large number of traps including bow and arrows being fired by machines calling it "a boring ride" (2:55)
• Panty and Stocking physically defeat a large stone statue with many arms (3:30)
• Panty claims she and Stocking can climb back into Heaven despite it being above space by building a super long pole. (14:50) It should be noted that even within the confines of this episode, Panty seems to be one for hyperbole claiming she could "eat a whole planet" (17:40)

So Panty is at least wall level within this for taking down a giant stone statue, who shows athleticism, agility and skill, and likely subsonic speed for avoiding the automatic arrow fire. It's implied she's a lot stronger since she can take down arguably really big ghosts and is an angel whose mission is to fight ghosts but unless you wanna take the Heaven feat as serious MFTL+ that's about it.

Fight:

So the first thing to note here is that neither character can really take a shot from each other. Particularly with her durability, Panty might be able to survive a bullet, but she has no feats to suggest it wouldn't do serious damage to her. Moreover Panty absolutely doesn't have the feats to survive a Tiro Finale while conversely Mami doesn't have the durability feats to suggest she could take a strike from Panty. That said Panty doesn't even use a gun in this ep meaning Mami has vastly longer range then Panty.

Unless they start at close range, I feel pretty confident in Mami taking this. Panty has better movement speed with these eps, but Mami has comparable or better everything else; both show enhanced skill and agility and similar levels of power and reaction time but Mami has better range and versatility.

In fairness I don't think Mami's versatility is too big a factor here; her binding doesn't have any particular feats this ep, it held Homura but Homura's strength level is basically unknown, while Panty has shown superhuman strength. Likewise, Mami's telepathy doesn't seem like it would confer any notable advantage here. That said the range advantage as well as Mami's disposition probably would take it. Even in these eps alone Mami is portrayed as cautious, prudent, and advises against taking risks while Panty is depicted as impulsive and reckless. Panty might win if you take the highballed interpretation of some of the statements or if they start in basically melee range, that said at anything longer I can't see Panty dodging numerous shots and arm cannon blasts from someone as skilled, with such high reaction and rate of fire.
