Random Issue Battle 4
Time for another installment of random issue battle. This is going to be taking two characters and determing who would win with the caveat that both only get the feats from a single random issue/episode/level etc. of their series. Scaling is allowed but scaling towards feats that happened in that issue/episode/level.
Using the random battle picker to pick a random death prediction I have done I got Mami vs Panty. That's interesting...both characters don't have that large a selection going just from Puella Magi's main series, meaning they're both fairly likely to get at least something of a good feat. I think best case for Mami off the top of my head might be the fight against Gertrud or maybe the timelines ep that could give Mami a signifigant amount to scale off of. For Panty best ep to get would be the moon one probably so she could scale to Stocking's feat of being sneezed out by the moon....not really sure.
Starting with Mami, I use a number randomizer to get a random ep and I get episode 3. That's...oddly fitting given the character in question. So she'll basically get feats from the Charlotte encounter.
- Episode starts with Mami wiping out a witch maintaining a dimension that off visuals was probably building sized via Tiro Finale (3:00)
- Telepathic Sensing with Kyubey saying he can guide Mami through the shortest path of a witch's labyrinth via their telepathy (11:22)
- Mami binds Homura (13:45)
- Mami demonstrates superhuman skill and reaction time using one gun after another to defeat familiars in sequence while spinning like a dance (18:20)
- Mami seemingly creates larger hand-cannons (18:35)
- Hits the witch Charloette with her gun a long distance suggesting superhuman strength (19:18)
- Demonstrates Tiro Finale (19:40)
- It's implied the Angels could have dispatched a bunch of ghosts, 1 of which might be of signifigant size though the cartoony perspective makes it kind of hard to tell (1:20)
- Panty avoids a large number of traps including bow and arrows being fired by machines calling it "a boring ride" (2:55)
- Panty and Stocking physically defeat a large stone statue with many arms (3:30)
- Panty claims she and Stocking can climb back into Heaven despite it being above space by building a super long pole. (14:50) It should be noted that even within the confines of this episode, Panty seems to be one for hyperbole claiming she could "eat a whole planet" (17:40)

Random Issue Battle 3
Time for another installment of random issue battle. This is going to be taking two characters and determing who would win with the caveat that both only get the feats from a single random issue/episode/level etc. of their series. Scaling is allowed but scaling towards feats that happened in that issue/episode/level.
Using the random battle picker to pick a random death prediction I have done I got Yogsquest 1 Battle Royale....this is going to be an interesting one. This is the first time I'm doing a matchup between characters from the same verse. Given that there's 4 of them and only 10 episodes it's downright likely that two will be getting feats from the same episode meaning you could potentially just scale between them. Going into I have to imagine Pretty Margaret is gonna win. She has either physical feat or a magic feat in almost every episode. Honey also has physical feats but he also has intelligence anti-feats. I could maybe see Duncan winning if the episode has him demonstrate he has those scrolls; one of fear, and one of cone of cold. The Rat King winning would be a tricky one to imagine as there's no particular ep he has great stand alone feats. As always if an ep has NO feats whatsoever, I can just pick a new one.
Starting with Honeydew, I use a number randomizer to get a random ep and I get episode 6. Episode 6 is just after the Mimic fight so there might be something from Honeydew's fight with his clone.
- It's mentioned off hand that Honeydew has a hammer (2:02)
- Honeydew is able to shove his companions forward in case there are any traps. (9:30) Honeydew's companions manage to push a signifigantly sized stone tomb (4:40) suggesting he scales.
- Honeydew runs forward and pulls a lever before anyone has a chance to react (10:20)
- Simon and his clone hit each other in the head with no effect (15:20)
- Has "5 intelligence" (16:50)
Something I didn't think to consider was Honeydew's speed. There's actually a partial shot of the room although we can't see the lever Honeydew pulled. Doing a rough visual estimate, if you assumed he moved like 2 meters to go from the door to off screen where the lever might be and he acted in 0.25 seconds, average human reaction time, he would have had to move 8 meters per second or athletic human level, a bit above world record marathon speed. He also has superhuman strength and durability, a hammer, but it seemingly impulsive and not very smart. If the others have no physicals he could maybe blitz.
Next for Duncan I user the randomizer to get episode 5 which is the mimic fight. That's probably not good for him, he does pretty poorly in that although he does get the scrolls in that one....
- Shows random Mimic knowledge and decent perception (3:04)
- Has a staff but is not very good with it due to having "6 strength" (3:40)
- Mentions having 2 fireballs (4:10)
- Duncan flails and misses a door with his staff (4:35)
- Duncan easily identifies 3 scrolls after finding them (12:05)
- Duncan's 3 scrolls are a scroll of illusory flame scimitar, scroll of cone of cold, and a scroll of fear. (12:18)
- Duncan recieves a fire potion (14:25)
Next up is Sjin, the Rat King. Random number picker gives me episode 7. Weird how these are all adjacent so far. 7 is the sewer fight if I recall correctly so he'll have the landing feat. Not sure if he'll get anything from the goblin fighting.
- Claims to be immune to most of the diseases of a sewer due to massive exposure (1:56)
- Sjin lands quite dexterously showing agility and durability after falling down into a sewer. (9:40) The fall is stated to be ~15 feet (~4.572 meters) which to tank means taking about 3 kilojoules, a low superhuman feat. Humans have survived this before but usually with more damage and spread out over larger sections of the body. As far as I know this would be impossible to withstand without taking damage landing on one's hands and feet like a rat.
- Sjin the Rat King has the magical ability to summon rat. (15:50) The summoned rat severely injures a goblin (19:05)
- Claimed to be noble and brave, and capable of inspiring great feats in her companions (4:18)
- Gives the party 1 HP from her song (5:33)
- Honeydew claims Pretty Margaret is better then John Lennon. While this is only really a feat of musical talent, having extraordinarily high talent would probably imply in most cases at least slightly higher general intelligence. (6:25)
- Is from the "69th Orcish Legion: Entertainment Divison" (9:03) which was famously ripped apart after she played an electrifiying lick on her magical lute. (9:12) The animation shows her going through a portal but it's not clear if this is something her music did or what.

Which secondary stat is strongest
In vs debating there's a commonly talked about stat trinity; attack potency, durability, speed. When talking about two characters fighting this is nigh-universally the first thing brought up because a signifigant advantage in any of these stats, especially speed can make the matchup nearly insurrountable, with abilities capable of circumnavigating these stat advantages having a special classification for how important they are (hax.)
However there are other stats all characters have that can be important, particularly if the two are relatively close otherwise. These are things that have been incredibly important, even more important then the primary stats, in real life combat. These are the secondary stats. I've heard six stats proposed as secondary stats, two of which I am unsure of those. Those two are stealth and endurance.
While both of these are things that have been quite important in real world combat, they for different reasons don't work similarly to the other 4. Endurance is a universal stat that all characters would have some level of, has a kind of blurry line with durability, and can be relatively hard to quantify. Stealth on the other hand can be quantified, even if it's more difficult then the other secondary stats and is distinct but is very much not universe. Most characters either have no stealth ability, no inclination to try and use any stealth, or both and as such stealth can be thought of much more as an ability rather then a stat, even if in real life both for human combat and in nature stealth is a very important tool of combat. I'm not saying I think endurance and stealth shouldn't be viewed as secondary stats, just that I'm not sold on considering them in the same way.
The other 4 which are pretty solidly secondary stats in my mind are range, intelligence, skill, and stamina. Of those 4 I definitely think the least useful by a good margin is stamina. While fights in fiction are often lengthier, fights in both real life and in vs debating tend to be pretty quick and so running out is just not a major concern in 99% of battle. Stamina comparisons are usually just a question of "do either character have a weakness", with the answer being almost always "no" and with most of the remainder being "yes but not a large one, it probably doesn't won't come up." Another result of this is that with stamina there's no further advantage in degree. You can have literally infinitely more stamina then your opponent and if they have no stamina problem, it's not going to be relevant. The only times stamina ever comes up is when characters have big super techniques/forms that are highly taxing, or when fighting a character who uses energy-draining.
The other 3 are a lot closer, as all 3 can be very helpful in certain circumstances but I believe intelligence is the least useful of the three. Now intelligence can be very helpful in a fight, as it basically lets you use your best tactical option, but intelligence's advantage unlike the other two stats is conditional; it depends on how many options you already have, it just helps guide you to the best of those options. Intelligence helps by exploiting things like terrain (which for most vs matches is in a neutral environment without ability to really help), enemy weaknesses, use one's ability maximally efficient etc. However intelligence by itself doesn't really do much in a fight. Intelligence is more helpful then the other stats when the characters have a lot of options, and/or their opponents have easily exploitable weaknesses.
Between the two I believe to be the strongest; skill and range it's interesting to consider which is stronger. The argument for range is that if you can only have a small advantage in one; having a small range advantage is a lot better then having a small skill advantage. Small skill advantages are usually not super signifigant and can't overcome much in the way of any other advantage, people who are master martial artists will tell you they don't want to get into a fight with someone who has a foot on them in height because the difference in power and reach makes it an extremely difficult fight. Sure if two people are even in every other regard, a small skill advantage can break it in one's favor, but it can't by itself overcome most signifigant advantages.
Range, on the other hand, sure can. Throughout the history of human warfare, range has been one of, if not the biggest single advantage. Being able to hit from a further distance makes you essentially untouchable and even at very small scales like the difference of dagger vs. sword or sword vs. spear, the difference is both clear and signifigant. Humans were able to subjugate large dangerous animals way stronger then us like the mammoth not because we were trained warriors, but because we had ranged weapons; historically armies didn't train soldiers past a certain point in things like martial arts because it gave diminish returns, but getting superior range on an enemy even just from getting the high ground has always been tactically advantageous.
However range, in a similar vein to stamina doesn't give you much of one the more you go. The ability to hit someone and not be hit in return is a big advantage it gives unlike stamina difference, but the only difference having 10x someone's range and 100x someone's range is they have to travel a farther distance, a distance that is usually not that big for most characters with decent speed feats or things like teleportation.
The point skill has it's in advantage is that while range's advantage is expotential decay, skill's advantage is basically linear. Being cosmically more skilled then someone would give a noticably larger advantage then being just humanly more skilled. A large enough skill advantage can be a form of hax for instance letting you dodge attacks as though you had precog, let alone the abilities high enough skill often seems to give you in fiction. While a small advantage in range seems stronger then a small advantage in skill, a large advantage in skill seems stronger then a large advantage in range.
Overall I would say range is a better secondary stat while in the range of humanity and the real world, while skill is a better secondary stat when you get cosmically strong. Personally I think range is probably the best secondary stat overall, but I could see an argument the other way as well.

Intelligence Ranking my favorite verses
I just wanted to create an intelligence ranking for the smartest characters in each of my favorite verses. I should note I don't count feats where it's like "Character sees all of x" as an intelligence feat as that really seems more of an sensory feat then an intelligence feat. That becomes relevant when you get really high up in the intelligence ranking.
32: Yuna Akamine (Yuki Yuna is a Hero): Yuki Yuna doesn't have any big intelligence feats. Yuna Akamine was able to manipulate and trick the heroes and is depicted as cunning. Shinju and the Heavenly God may be immortal and long-lived to the extent of gaining beyond peak human intelligence but such is unknown.
31: The Beast (Over the Garden Wall): Over the Garden Wall also doesn't have much big intelligence feats, but The Beast has basically both the feats above being a cunning manipulator and an implied long-lived immortal with a history of decieving different people into bearing the lantern.
30: The Throne of Yord (Shamanic Princess): The Throne of Yord is an ancient entity existing as long as the guardian world, suggesting his intelligence might be superhuman.
29: Ninetails (Okami): Immortal manipulator able to decieve even the goddess Amaterasu, a being who has lived at least thousands of years
28: Judgement (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt): Is the Immortal Goddess overseeing Heaven and Earth since at least the age of Dinosaurs, hundreds of millions of years ago. Might be higher as there is a ghost factory, though it's creation details are unknown.
Now we move onto the verses with signifigant intelligence feats:
Type 0.75: Unrealistic Geniuses/Low Superhumans. Can advance humanity to near futuristic technologyor create limited versions of Type 1 technology.
27: Yuuko Ichihara (xxxHolic): Yuuko Ichihara and Fei Wang Reed manipulated people and mentally battled over the fate of the multiverse, with Yuuko's plan finally succeeding.
26: Eriol (Cardcaptor Sakura): Eriol has the memories of Clow Reed, who was explictly Fei Wang Reed's superior, creating FWR from a stray thought, and was considered the greatest magician, superior even to Yuuko. Clamp mages could be a lot higher depending on interpretation as much is made of their precognitive abilities and awareness, but this is how far they would be using just their feats of manipulation.
25: Kyoya Ootori (Ouran High School Host Club): Kyoya has numerous feats of unrealistic genius, in particular without any funds from his family, making enough money from club activities to buy his father's failing company from other highly wealthy investors.
24: Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho): Is a genius intellect who easily mentally beat Yu Kaito a genius in his own right, and was able to train a bunch of C class demons to reaching S class, an unpredected feat of training in his verse.
23: Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!): Kaiba designed numerous pieces of advanced technology including hologram projectors and a computer that can act as a game master for the card of duel monsters.
22: Monaco (Hetalia): Any of the countries could be here but Monaco is the one most consistently described as intelligence. The Countries are immortal entites that speak every language, created their own language, and accumulate massive experience from their nature as concepts. Each country has the intelligence of a country-wide civilization.
Type 1: Can create technology like that of a type 1 civilization such as weather manipulation, full gene manipulation, megastructures, relativistic spaceships, etc. Has the intelligence of a planetary civilization. Limited versions of Type 2 Technology.
21: Lok (Magicka): Lok created advanced robots like her golem that can fight high tier wizards evenly, and other advanced robotics
20: Dr. Asamori (Saint Seiya): Created the Iron Saints which can somewhat compete with lower tier Saints and help them in combat.
19: Dr. Kisaragi (Cutie Honey): Created Honey's robotic body, which has advanced capabilities to transform as well as a device that manipultes air particles to create items from thin air.
18: Mary (Divine Comedy): All the Ascended have all information run through their brains, knowing every bit of information that everyone on Earth knows, Mary being the smarest of them, closest to God.
Type 2: Can create technology like that of a Type 2 civilization such as extra-planetary colonies, Artificial Intelligence, technology that can affect the molecular/atomic strucute of large structures, time travel or limited versions of Type 3 Technology. Has the intelligence of a stellar civilization.
17: Cure Amour (Pretty Cure): Android from the future that has invented true artifical intelligence and time travel with full database of knowledge of the information of the present and future.
16: Ryou Shirogane (Tokyo Mew Mew): Genius inventor that made technology to counter the aliens who have spaceships that can take them across interstellar space, full AI like Masha, genetic bonding that turned teen girls into mutant animal magical girls.
15: Alphys (Undertale): Inventor monster who created full AI like Mettaton, mutant genetic creature, the Amalgamates, could start to tap into the soul with technology, invented the CORE which turned thermal energy into magical electricity powering the Underground
14: Jack Spicer (Xiaolin Showdown): Invented Full AI Robots that can fight with megaton level entities, Time Travel, after conquering the Earth would be a threat to the universe, and scanners that scan the world to find a set of mystical objects.
Type 3: Can create Type 3 techology such as FTL Travel, Physics Manipulation, Matter-Energy Manipulation, Cosmic Scale or Level Creations or limited versions of Type 4 technology. Has the intelligence of a galactic civilization.
13: Eagle Vision (Magic Knight Rayearth): Lead Inventor of the World of Autozam which is a hyper-tech world that created giant robots that can fight the planetary rune Gods, and personally invented one for himself.
12: Saphir (Sailor Moon): Created Black Moon Clan technology that can withstand and tap into the power of a Black Hole as well as spiritual ethereal robots.
11: Professor Utonium (The Powerpuff Girls): Created the Powerpuff Girls who can physically beat up a stellar level Demonic Being (HIM), as well as Dynamo who can tank their blows. Is seemingly smarter then Mojo Jojo who has independent type 3 feats.
10: Mother Brain (Metroid): Has the information and technology of the Chozo, one of the smartest races in a Type 3 civilization, the Galactic Federation. Has created planetary+ pieces of technology and is smarter then the Federation which also possesses them, scaling above creating planetary forcefields and creating a micro black hole. Created the Power Suit.
Type 4: Can create type 4 technology indistinguishable from magic such as manipulation of higher planes of being and technology that can affect the entire universe or limited versions of Type 5 Technology. Has the intelligence of a universal civilization.
9: The Narrator (Stanley Parable): Created the Baby Game, a piece of art capable of tapping into the Essence of Divine Art
8: Drosselmeyer (Princess Tutu): Invented a machine that would allow him to affect the plot.
7: Vlad Plasmius (Danny Phantom): Invented his own ghost portal, thus scaling him above the Guys in White who failed to do so, yet were able to create a missile capable of neutralizing the entire ghost zone, a universal sized metaphysical realm. Smarter in scientific intelligence to Jack Fenton who created technology that can affect ghosts.
6: Kyubey (Puella Magi Madoka Magicka): The Incubators are a Type 4 civilization fighting against universal entropy. Created an Isolation Zone capable of trapping a conceptual being. Uses superscience to recreate literal magic.
5: Mooplexians (Wander over Yonder): Stated to be all knowing, the cosmic sea of the collective unconciousness, holding ultimate cosmic knowledge, would have at least all information in the one universe.
4: Omne (Bayonetta): Stated to be omniscient in the guide, would have all information in the trinity of realities, 3 universes.
3: Mimir (God of War): Knows everything in the 9 realms, each being their own universal sized realm, as well as some information from beyond (knew about the ghost of sparta)
Type 5: Can create technology equivalent to that of a Type 5 civilization such as technology that can affect an infinite multiverse, or fully warp reality on a conceptual or metafictional level. Has the intelligence of a multiversal civilization.
2: Time Master (Freedom Force): Smarter then the Domain, a Multiversal civilization that harnessed the power of Energy X, a multiverse spanning energy being.
Absolute Intelligence:
1: God (DC Comics): Beings who are absolute knowledge are parts of the unity that existed before being, the infinite First World.

Random Issue Battle 2
Time for another installment of random issue battle. This is going to be taking two characters and determing who would win with the caveat that both only get the feats from a single random issue/episode/level etc. of their series. Scaling is allowed but scaling towards feats that happened in that issue/episode/level.
After the last one using my two favorite characters I figured I would do battles using the death predictions I've done. To fit the theme I actually decided to pick one randomly from the list each week, removing ones I've already done. If it's a character with multiple series I'm just doing their main series and if it's one they just don't appear in, then another random one will be picked. Engaging the random thing picker the matchup I get for this week is:
The Beast vs sans.
Alright so thinking about it, this is going to be odd because The Beast doesn't have that many feats in general but sans are all concentrated at the end of Genocide. I imagine both will only get like 1-2 feats in a random episode/level which will make things odd. For The Beast gonna watch an ep of OTGW and if The Beast doesn't appear, randomize again. I wasn't actually sure to use 22 minutes, which is the standard length of an episode, or what the show calls an "episode" which are only 11 minutes, but for the sake of setting a precedent of trying to keep things fair I am going to be using a full 22 minutes. For sans, it's a bit more complicated since UT is a game, but UT has 6 sections I'm treating as "levels" (Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotland, The Core, New Home) and I'm multiplying that by three for a neutral run first, then a pacifist run, then a genocide run so it's a random number from 1 to 18 starting with Neutral Ruins and ending at Genocide New Home. If sans doesn't appear then I pick another one.
Starting with the Beast I get full episode 2 (episodes 3/4) Off the top of my head, I can't think of any feats Beast has in those eps although I think Woodsman gives a warning to Wirt and Greg in the episode 4.
- It's implied by a person's fright of the Beast despite being on carriage back that the Beast may be faster then a horse. (0:40)
- The Beast is treated as a massive deal that scares the people in the tavern at his mention (7:45)
- It is stated the Beast "lurks out there in the unknown" perhaps implying some stealth ability as well as the ability to survive in the woods (7:50)
- It is implied the Beast is a manipulator as it is said "better be wise and don't believe his lies" (8:12)
- It is stated the Beast can turn someone whose will is spoiled into a tree of oil and use them to light his lantern (8:17)
- sans pursues Frisk steathily (26:50)
- Has a whoopie cushon hand (27:34)
- Puns (29:14)
- sans and Papyrus make puzzles to hinder the progress of humans suggesting they might be a degree smarter then humans in that area
- sans demonstrates the ability to teleport and smashs a tough branch too large for Frisk to lift up "like it was nothing"
- Snowdin Library is in this section which gives information about monsters, most notably that monsters are weak to killing intent

Random Issue Battle
An idea I heard and wanted to try, random issue battles are where you take two characters you really like; read one randomly selected issue of both and see who would win using ONLY feats from that issue. Scaling is allowed but only scaling from within that issue.
I'm going to try this idea out with my two favorite characters of all time; Sailor Moon and Superman. I'm expecting Superman to win, even though I think Sailor Moon probably wins if the two fight as they are currently. This is because Superman tends to have feats, and fairly substantial feats, of power, speed, and versatility in almost every issue. Even if they're low for him, or even pretty mediocre overall, that's definitely a boon in a challenge like this. Sailor Moon has feats in all those categories, but she doens't usually have that much in every issue. If Usagi wins this it would probably because it's one of the issues she gets a cosmic tier power feat, and it's a Superman issue where he doesn't get a cosmic tier power feat or any hax around a feat like that. On the plus side for Usagi, a Sailor Moon act is like twice the size usually of a lot of comic issues so there's more opportunity for feats.
Randomized Sailor Moon Issue (Manga Act 1-60): I got Act 51, which is near the start of Stars. Alright I'm going to read it and list all feats from it that apply to Sailor Moon:
- Weakness: Usagi is suffering from PTSD in this issue (1, 2, 3)
- Senses the aura of the stars around Seiya. Identifies it as the same as the aura of the Guardian Senshi.
- Has an energy attack called "Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss."
- Was comparable to Sailor Aluminem Seiren who at least reacted to the Starlights Attacks who came to the Solar System from another star system. As they are established as first year high school students this chapter, this means they came in a timeframe of at max 16 years and using nearest star system, this would be a speed of at least just over one quarter lightspeed. It's more likely this is an MFTL feat, but there's really not enough context to establish in this.
So in this act by itself Sailor Moon is relativistic, has aura-reading and an unknown type of energy attack, but has the likely not going to come up weakness of her PTSD. Not going to lie, I was not expecting a speed feat but no power feat, that's a bit out of left field.
For Superman's Randomized Issue, I'm just going to use a random issue of Action Comics, as it's his main series, and gone on since his creation. So far there has been 1,030 issues. Picking a random issue I get: Issue 667, which I think is early post-crisis-ish. That means Superman might not have any cosmic feats as the early Post-Crisis era was light on that stuff. Looking it up it's the July 1991 issue, 5 years into Post-Crisis which is not that early into it.
- It is stated "I didn't think anything could hurt (Superman.)" It's also implied his fall was mistaken for a meteor.
- Superman flies and demonstates enhanced hearing. States he has "invulnerability".
- Superman threw the Eradicator into the Sun, who reappeared much stronger, easily destroying a city block and beating down Superman. Superman gives Eradicator a good fight on Mercury, but needs to breathe every hour.
- Superman mustered all his strength to break free from the Sun's pull, using Mercury's gravitational field to build up velocity and fling him towards the Earth, a speed he states he has never flown that fast under his power, making the stars a blur, bringing up the possibility of flinging out of control past the Earth but instead slamming heavily into the Earth atmosphere.
- The Eradicator overpowers a Kryptonian Warsuit.
- Superman holds up a Tenament building, although oddly he implies this is highly difficult for him.
- Jimmy Olsen implies can travel to the other side of the world quickly.
- Superman states he heals fast.
- It is stated Eradicator merged with the Sun's energies, responsible somehow for global disasters and triggering a change in the Sun's core.
- Superman demonstrates speeds fast enough to quickly go into orbit, and then to travel to another point on Earth like the Fortress of Solitude.
- Superman uses his heat vision.
- Superman hears Professor Hamilton's heartbeat not beating.
