How strong are the Sailor Senshi (Reference Blog)

Hi, if you're a regular reader of mine you can probably skip this blog I am just repeating past information. I have just made this to be a quick reference guide so if someone asks me how strong they are, I can link this blog. This blog will be explaining the capacities of the Sailor Senshi in 5 categories; Strength, Durability, Speed, Unique Powers, and Planet Power.

Background:

In the Sailor Moon Universe it is said that everything no matter the size, shape or name bears something called a Star Seed. These act as the concept of the thing, developing all the traits and parts of it. The highest form of existence these can attain is one of the "celestial bodies", the stars. Hence the name: Star Seed.

Special Star Seeds are Chosen by the Stars to develop into Sailor Crystals. The Wielders of the Sailor Crystal can transform into Sailor Senshi. These Sailor Crystals grant them enhanced physical capacities, the ability to use planet power (the energy of the star seeds), and unique powers fitting the Sailor Crystal in question.

When people refer to the Sailor Senshi they are generally referring to the Solar System Senshi. There are 15 wielders of Sailor Crystals to guard the Solar System. Tuxedo Kamen, generally translated as Tuxedo Mask, possesses the Golden Crystal of Earth but because he is not female he can't transform into a Sailor Senshi. The other 14 are divided into 3 groups:

The first is called the Guardian Senshi. This group's job is to protect the princess/queen of the Solar System. This group includes Sailor Moon, who actually is the princess and later queen of the solar system, as well as Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus.

The second is called the Outer Senshi. This group's job is to protect the Solar System from External Threats. Given the dangers of this job, the Outer Senshi are gifted with powers and abilities stronger then the Guardian Senshi. This group includes Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto, and sometimes Sailor Saturn.

And finally the Third Group is the Guardian Senshi of the future. In the future Chibi-Moon will become the new princess of the solar system, and she will be protected by Sailor Vesta, Sailor Pallas, Sailor Ceres, and Sailor Juno, Senshi of the Asteroid Belt. Sailor Saturn will live on to the future and become part of Chibi-Moon's guard, and so she is sometimes included in the group.

When people reference the 10 Solar System Senshi they are generally referencing the ten that Pluto spoke of when she referenced the group of Sailor Senshi that would carve a new destiny for the Solar System. This includes the Guardian Senshi, the Outer Senshi including Saturn, and Chibi-Moon. These ten are the Senshi giving the mission by their stars, to change the destiny of the Solar System from destruction to becoming the Utopia of Crystal Tokyo. So I will be going over how strong they are.

Sailor Senshi have three general states; Base Sailor Senshi, Super Sailor Senshi, and Eternal Sailor Senshi. Base Sailor Senshi are their normal state, Super Sailor Senshi are their state boosted by a holy power like the Holy Grail, and Eternal Sailor Senshi are states attained after achieving psychological unity and able to draw out the full power of their Sailor Crystal. Each form is far stronger then the last so in each category I'll go over them separately.

Strength:

With one exception, Sailor Senshi don't have super strength on par with their other abilities. Though they do have some level of super strength.

In terms of strength, the biggest feats of the Sailor Senshi is their capacity to withstand and stand on the surface of the celestial bodies without difficulty despite their immense gravity. The most impressive of these feats is Usagi in her civilian form able to wander the surface of Nemesis only becoming tired. The same Nemesis is compared to a Black Hole with massive gravity and radiation.

There is one exception, this being Sailor Jupiter. All the senshi have a unique power granted by their Sailor Crystal and Jupiter's Unique Power is her sheer physical strength. She has physical strength on par with her energy attacks. When she is angry enough she has physical strength even above her energy attacks. A combined planet attack from 7 Senshi, Jupiter included, was only enough to wind Zirconia, the weaker form of Nehelenia, yet enraged Jupiter's punch was enough to crack Nehelenia's face.

Durability:

Even in their Base Forms, Sailor Senshi are very durable. Here is a list of durability feats for the Guardians in their base form

• Usagi in her civilian form surviving the surface of Nemesis as mentioned earlier.
• Ami, Rei and Makoto surviving the Room of Darkness deep within Nemesis which decays matter. This is despite Nemesis draining their powers the whole time they were there. 
• The Senshi are drawn into and survive within Nemesis, despite Nemesis' sheer gravity able to rip holes in spacetime. 
• Sailor Moon survives the clash of her own energy with Nemesis, which is so much energy it creates a spatial warp that brings her and Nemesis to the edge of the Solar System.
• Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen survive an attack by Death Phantom with the Black Crystal. For the record the Black Crystal, the dark equivalent to the Silver Crystal, which created Nemesis, a celestial body without equal, a stone with distorts all of space and time, and which can grant dominion over all of space and everything in it.
• Despite being on the edge of the Solar System, the explosion of Nemesis looked from Earth the same size as Earth, and destroyed the Moon Rods that held the energy that destroyed it. Despite holding the rods at the same time and thus being subject to the same amount of energy, Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi-Moon are fine. 
• The Guardian Senshi survive an attack from an even stronger Sailor Senshi, Sailor Uranus
• Sailor Moon survives an energy attack from Mistress 9 using the power of the Silver Crystal. For comparison when the user of that Silver Crystal turned evil last arc, just the turning created chaos in spacetime unlike any before. 

The Outer Senshi are even durable, Sailor Uranus tanked an attack from Cyprine in civilian form, the strongest of the Witches V who are stronger then the Guardian Senshi.

Their Super Senshi forms are even more durable. Super Sailor Moon tanked her own henshin energy, which was so potent that it scared Pharaoh 90 as well as being compared to Heaven itself giving off it's power. The same Pharaoh 90 moved a galaxy at faster then light speeds and was warping spacetime from a "very distant" galaxy.

Eternal Sailor Senshi are more durable still. After attaining her Eternal Form, Usagi was able to tank in her civilian form, the power of civilian form Galaxia, which was stronger then any enemy she had faced before. This was after facing Queen Nehellenia who maintained an entire dimension that was a dark parallel universe. The Eternal Senshi in their transformed state are superior to civilian form Usagi.

Speed:

• Princess Serenity before becoming a Sailor Senshi was able to sneak from the Moon to the Earth to see her forbidden love Prince Endymion. 
• Before transforming, Minako's latent planet power was so potent as to fling her far outside Earth all the way to Venus in seconds.
• Hotaru flies to Charon Castle in civilian form to answer a distress signal from Sailor Pluto in a few seconds. Charon Castle orbits Pluto.
• Altair and Vega are lovers forbidden to see each other by the Gods, and can only meet once a year on Earth. They are also the stars Altair and Vega which are over 16 and over 25 lightyears away from Earth. Meaning they travel dozens of lightyears every year, likely in a much shorter time frame, making this feat dozens to thousands of times lightspeed. These stars are not fighters, they are the normal civilians of the cosmos.
• Even the most basic Droid is capable of flying on and off Nemesis, a Black Hole, which is a superluminal feat, since a Black Hole's escape velocity is by definition higher then c. However Nemesis is quite the sizable Nemesis given that it can absorb the whole of the solar system, and allows time travel from the 30th Century to the Present Day. 
• Queen Nehelenia and Queen Serenity both flew to the Solar System from another galaxy, the picture is that of the Andromeda Galaxy. Under any realistic timeframe, this is millions of times the speed of light at least. Given that this was without the Silver Crystal, and Metallia wondered if beating Queen Beryl means the people of the Moon had grown stronger, it's possible this scales as early as the First Arc Sailor Senshi. 
• The Silver Crystal's power moves fast enough to warp all of spacetime almost instantly, a speed feat quadrillions to quintillions times the speed of light. Snow Princess Kaguya twice was able to react to the energy of the Silver Crystal while it was still in motion, once in the distant past of the Silver Millenium and once in the present, which means it's possible Super Sailor Senshi scale to this level of speed.
• Eternal Sailor Moon along with several other senshi, including an eternal level sailor senshi sailor kakyuu in her civilian form, casually fly at billions of times lightspeed from the solar system to the center of the galaxy 1 2 3 4 5
• Eternal Sailor Chibi-Moon and the Eternal Amazon Senshi, a team of complete amateur Eternal Senshi were on Earth when they got a distress signal from Chibi-Chibi at the center of the galaxy and they arrived instantly.
• The Eternal Amazon Senshi were able to move at comparable speeds to The Lambda Power restoring the cosmos, sending all the star seeds to their proper places in space and time

Base Sailor Senshi: Likely Dozens to Thousands of Times Lightspeed, Possibly Millions of Times Lightspeed

Super Sailor Senshi: Same as above, but Possibly Quadrillions to Quintillions of Times Lightspeed

Eternal Sailor Senshi: Casually Billions of Times Lightspeed, Quadrillions to Quintillions of Times Lightspeed Serious 

Unique Powers:

Each of the Senshi is granted Unique Powers by her Sailor Crystal. 

Sailor Mercury:

• IQ over 300
• Magical Visor/Computer that can see through illusions or track things through dimensions
• Can sense the presence and flow of water 
• When threatened, can create a freezing fog
• Spell: Mercury Aqua Mist, spell that creates the freezing fog mentioned above
• Spell: Hyperspace Area Formation, spell that traps opponents in a hyperspace dimension
• Spell: Shine Aqua Illusion, spell that creates a water storm around her capable of taking out advanced robots that can survive being on The Black Hole Nemesis.
• Spell: Shine Snow Illusion, freezing variation of above spell 
• Spell: Mercury Aqua Mirage, creates a water sprout that threatened Viluy, one of the Witches V which makes it stronger then the explosion of Nemesis mentioned above.
• Mercury Harp: A sentient harp Mercury gains in her super and above form that allows her to use her strongest spell "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody"
• Spell: Mercury Aqua Rhapsody, Mercury's strongest spell, was capable of destroying the spirit Fish and the pocket reality he trapped her in. In her eternal state, this attack should scale to Galaxia's civilain form.

Sailor Venus:

• The Bearer of the Venus Crystal is noted to have superior reflexes, adaptability and judgement skills
• Can actually use Mars' Akuryo Taisen
• Can use her disguise power to disguise herself as anyone she wants, including males, real persons, historical figures, and fictional characters. A full list of her disguises is included here.
• Can launch nameless energy attacks that rapidly erases the existence of the person hit. 
• Can channel the Age of Pisces we are in to repel enemy attacks (Venus is exalted in the sign of Pisces astrologically).
• Sailor V Kick: Sailor V gives enhanced kicks to her opponent, capable of beating Luuga inside her own dimension where she controls the rules of the world.
• Can Summon the Holy Sword to her. The Holy Sword is a magical sword harder then diamond and highly toxic. Sailor Venus used this holy sword to shank Queen Beryl 
• Spell: Crescent Beam: Shoots a beam of light capable of destroying Luuga inside her own dimension and destroying a Dark Agency Member that maintained an entire building 
• Spell: Crescent Shower of Love: Creates a mystical rain which purifies an area of negative energy and poisons
• Spell: Venus Sulphur Smoke: Creates a burst of foul-smelling sulfuric smoke which approximates the atmosphere of Venus. For the record Venus's atmosphere is a hellscape of burning heat and acids and intense pressure. 
• Spell: Ten Billion Volt Rock n Rouge: Spell which creates an electrical wave of sound with 10,000,000,000 volts.
• Spell: Venus Love Megaton Shower: Spell which supposedly carries a megaton of force.
• Spell: Rolling Heart Vibration: Creates a mystical heart projectile that Dark Endymion thought it necessary to protect against.
• Spell: Venus Love-Me Chain: Spell which creates a magical golden chain which can be used for offense, defense and grappling. It destroyed Advanced Robots from the future capable of surviving the surface of Black Hole Nemesis. It was also able to harm Emeraude, much stronger then the Droids. It is also purified a bunch of civilians from brainwashing.
• Spell: Venus Wink Chain Sword: The Love-Me Chain conjures a sword of light capable of equaling the Charm Buster of Mimete of the Witches V, putting it stronger then the explosion of Planet Nemesis.
• Spell: Venus Love and Beauty Shock: Charges the Love-Me Chain with powerful electricity. Considering how Venus mocked Eternal Sailor Moon's first attack, this attack used by Eternal Sailor Moon would definitely be stronger then Galaxia's civilian form.

Sailor Moon:

Not gonna go over all the insane stuff the Silver Crystal let Sailor Moon do. Here is a blog I made listing the Silver Crystal's abilities.

Sailor Chibi-Moon:

Chibi-Moon uses the Silver Crystal of the future so it's a similar deal to Sailor Moon. Here is a blog I made for her. 

Sailor Mars:

• Has a mystical sixth sense. This allows her to sense evil intent and to sense an evil presence as far away as up in the mountains from her shrine. The Sixth sense can give a limited sense of the future, and can act as a danger sense. It also allows her to sense energy and to sense spatial and spiritual distortions. 
• She can look into fire and see the future. She does not so much predict the future as have it revealed unto her by the sacred fire. This warned her of an upcoming enemy. She is so skilled and attuned to the flames that she was revealed a piece of important information at the exact same time as the Grand Magus of the Death-Busters, Kaorinite, who was actively scrying for that information. 
• As a Shinto Priestess, can use mystical charms. Used on a normal person, this knocks them out cold. However, it's main purpose is to banish evil spirits from the dimension. She also knows a more complex charm that clears her mind of illusions and gives her clarity.
• Spell: Akuryo Taisen: Mars channels her mystical fire into one of her charms. This attack was powerful enough to destroy Jadeite of the Four Heavenly Kings, as well as his whole dimension the very first time she cast it. 
• Spell: Burning Mandala: Creates a burst of the sacred flame, powerful enough to incinerate advanced robots from the future capable of surviving on Black Hole Nemesis.
• Spell: Mars Snake Fire: Conjures a Snake made of Fire above her head which bites at her enemy. This attack was strong enough to threaten Cyprine, the strongest of the Witches V putting it WELL above the explosion of Death Phantom mentioned before.
• Spell: Mars Flame Sniper: Mars' strongest attack, Sailor Mars conjured mystical bow and arrows of fire, and fires an arrow. This attack destroyed the spirit Tiger's Eye. Also along with the Mercury Aqua Rhapsody, the Flame Sniper knocked unconscious 4 Eternal Sailor Senshi at once. This attack also stalemates one of the attacks of the Galactica Senshi, the only attack of the Sol System Senshi shown to do so. 

Sailor Jupiter:

• Sailor Jupiter has super-strength on par or above her elemental attacks. Even in her civilian form she is described as strong as the clap of thunder but as sweet as an older sister. She was able to physically destroy a ghost bride. and when she was sick to the point of collapse she was attacked by a robot copy of herself and still triumphed. Considering that Robot was a Droid who survived the surface of the Black Hole Nemesis this would be an insane feat of strength for her civilian self
• Black Belt in Judo
• Can sense electrical manipulation around her.
• Can read bad omens in the wind
• Can zap people by accident
• Spell: Flower Hurricane: Summons a hurricane of flowers to blind her enemy
• Spell: Jupiter Thunderbolt: Calls down a powerful thunderbolt powerful enough to kill one of the Heavenly Kings.
• Spell: Sparkling Wide Pressure: Creates a powerful ball lightning from her palms powerful to threaten Berthier of the Ayakashi Sisters, stronger then the Droids who can survive the surface of Black Hole Nemesis.
• Spell: Jupiter Coconut Cyclone: Creates a localized cyclone of lightning and wind that smells of coconut. It was strong enough to threaten Telulu who tanked an attack of Sailor Moon stronger then the explosion of Death Phantom. It also destroyed a spirit.
• Spell: Jupiter Oak Evolution: Jupiter summons to her head a crown of laurels which creates a surge of energy and lightning. It destroyed the spirit Hawk's Eye and was powerful enough to harm Eternal Sailor Moon

Sailor Saturn:

• Has the power to Heal
• She can see distant events and possible futures. She can create a simulation of the solar system and use it to know the future.
• Can perceive through dimensions
• She unlocked her own super form as well as the super forms of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto despite Nehellenia's eclipse keeping them from transforming even into their base forms.
• Hotaru's soul can exist independent of her physical body and view the physical world, even distant events. She guards the souls of the Guardian Senshi and takes them away from Mistress 9
• If Hotaru awakens as Sailor Saturn, it will regenerate her body.
• Within Hotaru is the Spirit of Sailor Saturn, of all incarnations of Sailor Saturn, she is in charge of this process of regeneration and will awaken her manifestations.
• Silence Glaive: Sailor Saturn's weapon is the Silence Glaive, the Scythe of Death. A mere touch of this weapon causes paralysis and drains the power of whatever it touches. Saturn's spells come from the Silence Glaive.
• Spell: Death Reborn Revolution: From the Glaive comes a bunch of dark tendrils that drains the power and reduces down everything into Saturn's negative aura. This attack can wipe all life from the Earth.  
• Power of Death: By lowering the Silence Glaive to the ground, Saturn can unleash the power of oblivion which destroys the current age. This is the end of everything, the reduction of everything into nothingness. This attack ended Pharaoh 90 and his dimension containing at least 1 galaxy.
• Spell: Silent Wall: Creates a forcefield
• Spell: Silence Glaive Surprise: Creates a vortex and an obscuring fog

Sailor Uranus:

• Haruka's unique gift is super speed beyond that of a normal Sailor Senshi, she is the speedster of the Senshi. In her civilian form she can move faster then the eye to the Civilian Guardian Senshi.
• Black Belt in Judo
• She can sense the presence of an enemy or of stellar energy
• She can hide her own energy
• Sees the Fall of the Moon Kingdom from Uranus
• Spell: World Shaking: Uranus creates an energy from her hand with winds intense enough to shake the ground. Capable of one-shotting all the Guardian Senshi at once and even de-henshined enough. It also destroyed a spell of the Amazoness Quartet.
• Talisman: Space Sword: Uranus has a magical space sword as her talisman. She can use this as a melee weapon or to launch sword lasers ala Link. The power of the Three Talismans held in Pharaoh 90 for a time. With it Eternal Uranus threatened the Sailor Starlights who are Eternal Senshi level themselves.
• Spell: Space Turbulence: Creates a distortion of space which releases waves of powerful electromagnetic energy capable of doing damage to two Eternal Sailor Senshi at once.

Sailor Neptune:

• Has the same sensory abilities as Uranus
• Recognized Disguised Usagi for who she is
• Can hide her energy
• Is a Sorceress
• Can paralyze enemies with her music
• Can create images and illusions
• Saw the fall of the Moon Kingdom from Neptune
• Spell: Deep Submerge: Summons a blast of energy that replicates the deep ocean. Is powerful enough to one-shot a daimon and is likely comparable to the World Shaking and blasted through a dark spell from the Amazoness.
• Talisman: Deep Sea Mirror: Neptune's Talisman allows herself to see through space and time. It allows her to see past events and tell the future, though it is limited by how much chaos is in the present. It allows her to scry the position of others, even distant people. It can also teleport you to specific people.
• Spell: Submarine Reflection: Neptune can call a counterspell from the Deep Sea Mirror. It was able to undo the resurrection spell on all the Witches V at once and was able to destroy a spell that was sealing most of the Senshi.
• Spell: Submarine Violin: Neptune conjures waves of magical music about on par with the Space Turbulence in terms of power.

Sailor Pluto:

• Sailor Pluto can sense any distortion of spacetime to the far reaches of spacetime.
• Her Wisdom and Judgement skills are praised by King Endymion to be above anyone else.
• Saw the fall of The Moon Kingdom from Pluto
• Senses the presence of a very distant galaxy
• Spell: Dead Scream: Creates a ball of dark energy. Destroyed Telulu who tanked Sailor Moon's power.
• Talisman: Garnet Orb: The Garnet Orb gives control of time and space. She can send people to anywhere in space and time she wants even if she isn't there. Normal distortion of space and time doesn't work against Sailor Pluto as she exists in the gap between space and time.
• Spell: Dark Dome Close: Seals off two dimensions from each other so nothing from one can affect the other.
• Spell: Garnet Ball: Creates a forcefield powerful enough to protect Super Sailor Moon
• Spell: Chronos Typhoon: Calls up a storm of primordial winds of her Ancestor Chronos. Powerful enough to threaten Eternal Sailor Moon.
• Spell: Time Stop: Sailor Pluto's ultimate move. It stops time. She can choose who is unaffected. However using this ability is taboo for her, and so if she does, she dies. So it's useless in one-on-one but in a team fight can make the difference.

Planet Power:

At the heart of the Sailor Senshi's abilities is Planet Power. Sailor Senshi can shoot a blast of energy from them called "Planet Power Attack". This attack generally isn't as strong as their unique powers, so why is it relevant?

Planet Power is not just an offensive thing, it is the source of their power, also called stellar energies. The simple act of transforming is a burst of planet power. And planet power can be used for much more. Teleporting, reversing evil spells, breaking through illusions, and more. The machinations of Chaos, manipulations of mind and soul, space and time, are repelled by the Senshi's planet power. The planet power forms a personal barrier that protects the Senshi from what ever comes their way.

Offensively, while Planet Power is not as efficient as elemental powers, it is a hidden ability. When Senshi are of the same mind, they can launch a planet power attack stronger then the the sum of the components. For instance while Kunzite was clearly stronger then the Guardian Senshi, when they became determined together to protect their princess, their combined planet power easily overwhelmed him. Another example: when Nehellenia invaded the Earth, she tricked and trapped Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi-Moon, and Sailor Saturn, the only Senshi strong enough to affect her, or even have the capacity to supposedly but the other Senshi whose hearts joined in one to free their prince and princess combined their planet powers  and repelled Nehellenia, saving them.

The ability of the Senshi to work together relates to a thematic point of the Sailor Moon Universe. The Senshi can work together so well because they were made to work together. The Cosmos in Sailor Moon isn't truly lots of individual parts, but a great whole with every part working in unison. The world we observe is a sequence of the light stars of Cosmos and the dark stars of Chaos, existences and non-existences, being and non-being, 1s and 0s in a giant computer.

Lambda Power:

If that is truly what the world is, what would happen if every Star Seed worked together, if all the light stars came together. It is what the Sailor Moon world calls the Lambda Power, the ultimate power of the Cosmos. It is so great that it can restore and maintain the whole of the cosmos and destroy Chaos itself with purely it's emanation just as Existence destroyed the gaping nonexistence purely by being born. 

This is the power Usagi attains beyond Eternal Form. By accepting the Cosmos, by devoting herself to fighting for the cosmos, for loving the cosmos no matter what state is takes, she embraces the universe and is beloved of it in turn. 

Weaknesses:

So each Senshi has personal weaknesses, though by their union they cover each other's weaknesses. In comparison to most verses the Senshi do have a relative lack of strength save for Jupiter, but that isn't helpful a lot of the time. There is one weakness that rarely comes up surprisingly enough.

Everything a Senshi does requires Planet Power, the Stellar Energy. That's really the one weakness of the Senshi in general, they need energy. Most SM fights are very quick, and if it goes on too long, the Senshi risks collapse as they simply run out of energy and stamina. It's no coincidence the most common power Chaos' minions have is energy-draining, because draining the Senshi of their planet power is the easiest way to defeat them. Either draining their energy, or just managing to outlast them with a lot of stamina (they don't actually have any big stamina feats).

The exception to this are users of the Silver Crystal like Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi-Moon as the Silver Crystal creates more energy for them to use.

So, that is my quick reference guide on how strong the Solar System Senshi are. Hope that is helpful.
