Ouran High School Host Club-verse Strategy Guide

How to be OP in Ouran High School Host Club

It's times like this, when you are analyzing a street level verse not at all based on fighting and trying to find strategic advantages in fighting it that you have to stop and ask yourself...where did my life go so RIGHT

The Ouran High School Host Club is a comedic series taking place in the ultra rich and elite Ouran High School featuring the host club. The verse does not seem to be very strong though is a bit stronger then it seems at first glance.

Kyoya's family is noted as having it's own private police force that functions as it's own army meaning attempting to fight the verse would meaning having to fight basically a small modern army. Beyond that Kyoya is a genius level intellect and the verse due to gags having superhuman physical stats.

Tamaki, who is not particularly strong for the Hosts was able to be thrown hard enough to crack a wall. Honey and Mori are both high level martial arts (there are a few other martial arts in verse, such as Chika, Honey's brother). Honey in particular is notably superhuman in strength, having taken down green berets by himself, defeating most of Kyoya's family's police force himself (with Mori), able to send people flying and tanking being sent flying in his brawls with Chika. He is also fast enough to become a blur as well throw shuriken without even being noticed suggesting subsonic speeds. He was also stated to have created an explosion with his might strong enough to create a bunny-shaped Mushroom Cloud and compared to a nuclear weapon, however this was just an account and likely exaggeration.

So what tactics would be particularly effective against the verse?

Without trying to cheese the verse with a defensive hax they can't get past, the immediate problem is the sheer number of characters that can be quickly mobilized that all use guns, which can be a challenge at this tier. The general strategy I would suggest is to use Honey's own strategy, of being small, modest seeming, and being able to one-shot with a quick attack. This combined with some strategy for dealing with the martial artists would seem to be the key to success.

The verse also lacks in-universe superhuman abilities, meaning someone with actual metahuman abilities will have an immediate advantage of surprise and being an out of context problem.

So a good build would be an unassuming appearance combined with some ranged one-shot, or some mobility boost that allows the user to attack from outside apparent range.

With that who would be a good counter? Well my first pick is

The Agent from Just In Time Inc.

The Agent's raw dc is about comparable to the top tiers as he can casually decapitate people. While he's at a speed disadvantage, his Time Gloves which allow him to percieve time as slowed down to the point he can catch supersonic bullets and missiles and send them back. He can also teleport or reset time a very limited amount (maybe a minute back or so). The Agent could easily just zip around taking peoples' heads off. While the Martial Artists speed is fast enough to maybe intercept him, they would have no way of anticipating his teleportation, especially because his appearence is pretty normal.

The gunfire is not gonna be much of an effort, as he has previously had to escort soldiers across a warzone deflecting bullets from hitting them, and this is a similar scenario but with much more cover and only needing to protect himself. He can also just reset if he would be hit. His weakness, that if his gloves are taken off he dies instantly) doesn't really apply here partly because the verse has no way of even guessing that, and further because no one in the verse has powers to take them off of him like telekinesis, vine manipulation, metal manipulation etc.

For a counter that takes the idea of light hax plus camouflage much further I would suggest

Artemis Fowl from the titular book series.

While Artemis is drastically weaker then the verse in stats, as a normal human physically, outside of getting a lucky shot in, Artemis would dismantle the verse.

Artemis blends right in as a super-right genius youth but his supergenius intellect is far beyond the verse, able to out-think an advanced species, regularly outt-hink supergeniuses, and create reality-warping technology. Beyond that he has incredible manipulative abilities and would be able to turn the verse against itself basically with no trouble, even before he gets time to invent something to get him out of trouble.

And this is without any of the fairy technology or magic that he eventually get access too. While technology is arguably non-standard, his magic allows him to create illusions, make him invisible or put people to sleep with eye contact, something the verse has 0 resistance too.

The one limitation is if the fight is more arena styled and they are prepared to attack him specifically, where he could get blitzed by a martial artist or shot before he can enact his plan. Long-term however, Artemis would simply be untouchable.

For a strategy to compete more directly with the verse's fighters in a fight, but also incorporates elements of stealth, not even using hax, I know a small fighter that could hop into it, that being

Monty Python Comedy GIF

The Killer Rabbit of Caenerbannog from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The Killer Rabbit basically takes Honey's strategy and amplifies it, being even smaller, even less immediatly threatening, and hitting even harder.

The Killer Rabbit fodderized many of the Knights, being impossible to hit for any of them, including King Arthur who was capable of casually lopping off limbs and survived a sheep being catapulted onto him. Even his underling Patsy survived a catapulted cow. The Killer Rabbit thus by scaling should be much stronger then anyone in the verse and would be a totally out of context problem.

The one danger would just be sheer numbers and guns. For a counter that can beat even this I would recommended

SCP-524 or "Walter the Omnivorous Rabbit" from SCP.

Walter is an SCP famous for appearing like an ordinary bunny and having the capacity to chew through anything. Being able to chew steel and radioactive material should allow him to get through the durability of anyone in verse. He also has powerful regeneration as he consumed himself and regenerate unharmed. Outside of trapping the bunny the verse would have no way to defeat Walter and they would have no knowledge to do that as Walter would be completely unlike anything in the verse and difficult for them to predict.

Such good stealth that he would seem completely ordinary, such good offense he could one-shot anyone, such good defense that only trapping would work and even then only temporarily, Walter would do really well.

The one disadvantage here is that being non-sapient does allow for being potentially trapped. The ideal character would seem nonthreatening while also being dangerous, would be able to counter an army of gun-wielders and superhuman martial artists. A character that appears perhaps as an animal while also being smart enough to manipulate the verse. Does a character like that possess? It does, though it's a very unconventional choice. That character is

The Cat in the Hat.

The Cat scales from their crossover to the Grinch who could lift a Christmas tree with one hand and with two hands was able to lift the sleigh with the presents of Whoville over his head. With speeds comparable to a fox and able to at will summon a car which he rides, he can keep up with the speed of the verse.

The Cat is a master of stealth able to move around a school without being seen or able to walk on walls or the ceiling meaning in a combat scenario, he could completely take advantage of the verse not being used to metahuman abilities and simply not notice him. This would only be bolstered by his ability to use his umbrella to fly. Even if they do detect him, not only would his toonforce-like abilities boggle their perception and cause massive confusion, but he absolutely does not seem to be a threat.

The Cat also has semi-duplication able to summon cats A-Z each smaller, able to create a total of 26 duplicates some very small and hard to see (Cat Z being impossible to see with human eyes). The Cat would also be the absolute master of spacing in the verse, using VOOM to control the air nearby, or changing the surroundings with his limited form of reality-warping. He could literally just suck up anyone nearby into his hat, which the verse has no counter too.

He would know where everyone nearby is at all time with his enhanced hearing and smell like a cat, and could simply jump to the ceiling to avoid any strike from behind or anywhere or use his teleportation to bfr himself or others temporarily. He is also noted as a genius intellect able to create comical contraptions that defy common sense.

Overall he has stealth, spacing, one-shot techniques, activated defenses that null anything in the verse, duplication to even the numbers, is completely outside the conception of the verse, comparable levels of intellect, and a comical appearance to deceive.

And that's how to be OP in Ouran High School Host Club-verse

  1. I haven't responded in a while, but I like all the strategy guides you're doing to be OP in certain verses, it's also really funny to me that the Cat in the Hat would be so powerful in Ouran High School Host Club.

    1. It's fine. Glad you are enjoying! :) I am eventually gonna do verses that I believe you know better. Not sure if you will like those more or less given that it's more about finding ways to counter them but still :P

    2. I don't really mind either way, I just like seeing things about stuff I know, and even the verses I'm less versed with are pretty interesting to learn about.

    3. Also, God of War may eventually get another power increase, because there is more lore coming from the card game that is coming out, and apparently some of the cards talk about how there are endless amounts of timelines in the Norse Worlds so the Yggdrasil being above that makes it even higher than Multiversal since it exists above endless versions of time, but we'll have to wait for the card game to know for sure how accurate that is.

    4. That would be cool! Gonna be honest though, I don't agree with the dimension tiering idea that there can be any levels of power above infinite universes since mathematically it doesn't work.I am very glad you are enjoying it though! Should be excited to see what GOW upgrades might come.

    5. I don't think magic and most mediums care too much about the logical mathematics of how infinite universes work, or really if it even makes logical sense, but at some point it's all too confusing or high tiered that I don't fully understand, but if it doesn't change anything, I don't really mind, the games will still be great to me.

    6. Eh, the problem with just saying "it's fiction, it doesn't have to follow logic" because if it's truly illogical we can't know or prove anything about it. If we say that this infinity is greater while still somehow also being the exact same number to that infinity, then we have no way to quantify what that is supposed to mean.

Me too! :) What are you looking forward with the games most? I'm looking forward to more of Kratos' fatherly side but that's probably just me being sentimental :P I also hope we get to see some of Odin! He's such a cool Norse God and already he's shaping to be quite the presence in the North Cosmos without even appearing.

    7. I just read the infinity debating guide, and got to say, I don't really get much of it lol, so I'm just going to not think too much about it, plus I may have said what the card is talking about wrong so don't mind me, jokes aside though I actually do understand some of it and the parts that I do make a lot of sense.

As for what I'm looking forward to, the fatherly side is nice, especially since my dad actually passed away a little over a month ago and he was tough and reserved for the most part like Kratos. I'm also looking forward to the cataclysmic battle between Thor and Kratos when it finally happens, it would be cool to see the Leviathan Axe and Mjolnir cancel each other out and damage a bunch of Realms, similar to him and the Serpent fighting, but even worse.

    8. Oh...I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you're doing ok.

That sounds like it would be really cool to see!

    9. I'm doing alright, it will take time to heal, it's just hard because I forget some times and want to tell him something only to remember that I can't now, but I have fond memories of him at least.

    10. I've had to face similar. It's hard but I'm sure he would want you to be happy. If there's anything I can do to help, feel free to say.

    11. Thank you for that, it means a lot to me.
