Huniepop-verse Strategy Guide

How to be OP in the Huniepop-verse

Local Scale Threat:

Huniepop if one is not aware is a dating sim and as such most of the characters fall pretty normally within the normal human range of capacities. A few of them are a bit stronger then average and a few of them a bit smarter then average but most of the people in this tier have no abilities whatsoever. However the original game contained 4 secret characters which creates 3 possible threats that need to be addressed.

Firstly there's Kyu the Love Fairy and her boss Venus the Goddess of Love. It's unknown what abilities Venus has but she likely scales to similar as Kyu so I'm mostly going to be focusing on Kyu's abilties for this. Kyu has selective invisibility and inaudibility, being able to avoid been seen or heard by people she doesn't want to be. She can fly and duplicate small objects like she does to date gifts so the player can use multiple them times. Her Huniebee can track the location of women and also gives her limited information about people combined with her natural intuition of them as a love fairy so she can learn things like their height, weight, likes/dislikes, virginal status, std status and so on. She also has her only technique; the date grid which is a form of seduction and emotional manipulation. As Kyu is 384 years old and Venus is 10,000 years old as well as a love fairy and the love goddess respectively, their seduction skills are likely superhuman by this point not even counting the power of the date grid.

The second threat comes from Celeste, the alien bounty hunter. Celeste is a skilled bounter hunter with a blaster gun of some description and a wide scientific knowledge of the universe.

The other secret character is Momo, who is a catgirl and implied to have catlike abilities which would naturally include claws, climbing things, sneaking up on opponents and likely somewhat enhanced senses.

Because Celeste is a bounty hunter I can use characters up to athletic human level and due to Momo's likely catlike speed as well as Kyu's flight I can use characters up to superhuman in speed. This is not a huge amount of possibilities.

This can be quite tricky to fight as most human level characters that have the detection abilities to detect Kyu and Venus would simply get gunned down by Celeste, and any characters that can get around Celeste likely would lose eventually to the invisible emotional manipulating Kyu and Venus.

The biggest weakness for the tier in general is that no one except Celeste is any kind of fighter. Kyu and Momo in particular are likely to be intimidated by any kind of fighting type character. Each of three above strategies has their own weakness as well.

Momo is a gullible naive and innocent character. She honestly barely qualifies as a threat except that with her cat senses she could alert the others where a mild stealth counter is. She also very much does not like water.

This is a shame because the only weakness Celeste has shown is to stealth strategies which is how she was captured. To use a stealth strategy without Momo's interference require somehow keeping Momo from warning Celeste before using it.

Kyu and Venus are in particular a trouble, and are surprisingly versatile for human level characters. Generally though a character that is signifigantly superior to normal human level that can detect them in some way can probably defeat them if they have a way to resist the date grid. However instead of looking for a character with a resistance to emotional manipulation, there's a much easier way, something that's not even an ability of a character:

That being lack of attraction to women! A gay male would be immune to the seduction abilities of Kyu and Venus. Note you could use an Asexual, a straight woman, or a character that is so inhuman that they likely don't feel attraction. This brings me to my first counter

Touya Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura.

Touya was born with a natural affliation with the magic of the moon. This lets him see spirits and the auras of others which he could use to see the invisible foes. It also lets him tap into the elements associated with the Moon including water which he used to save a penguin in the Cardcaptor Sakura anime. He could likely use this water magic to distract Momo and then stealth up to Celeste using the natural stealth granted by those affiliated with the moon.

He would also be able to beat Celeste in a hand to hand fight by being unironically more skilled as a first degree black belt compared to her above average level of skill. He would also be completely immune to Kyu and Venus' date grid ability as he is gay, his true love being Yukito who is also male.

He would also be more aware of his enemies they would be of his threat as he appears to be a normal human to them but he has a danger sense as well as their unusual appearences.

The only threat I could see is he probably couldn't take a blast from Celeste's blaster if she does catch him in the open and also his control over his powers does not seem to be very large. For a more consistent counter you could use

Holly Short from Artemis Fowl

Holly Short is a captain of LEP Recon and has better physical feats then Celeste (that is to say better then none.) She also has a blaster with better feats then Celeste's blaster.

Holly can also turn invisible and with the fairy mesmer can alter memories or thoughts or force people to fall sleep with eye contact which would be a one-shot against anyone in the tier and is basically a far stronger version of the dating grid.

This alone would be enough as it basically makes her a stronger combination of Kyu and Celeste which thematically is actually what is being a elven special forces operative. She has more benefits on top of that as she is heterosexual and thus not liable to be seduced and has other fairy abilities.  She has the gift of tongues to speak with animals which can give her extra intel talking to local fauna and can use fairy magic to heal.

That said her magic can run out with her stamina and she doesn't actually have enhanced senses herself to detect the invisbile Kyu and could be worn down. While this isn't very likely given she can speak to animals that would be able to sense Kyu, and she can fire her blaster to hit her, I think an even better counter would be

The Lady from Little Nightmares

The Lady is a skilled dark sorceress. She can flood the area she is in with darkness that can hide her presence and seamlessly hide within it and teleport around meaning that the tier's characters would have an immensely difficult time trying to track her presence.

She can make it immensely difficult for them as well. She has telekinesis able to fling any of them around or steal Celeste's blaster. And she would actually be able to sense the invisible Kyu or Venus as she sensed the presence of a person on top of the elevator she was in and can summon shadow children to attack anyone there disorienting and distracting them before one-shotting them with either her lifeforce absorption or transmutation.

She would easily be able to telekinetically or disarm any threats while remaining impossible to track for the tier, creating minions to fight them or one-shot them at any points and completely bypass their strongest ability.

Without any knowledge of her weakness to reflective surfaces they would have no way to stop her. Even their emotional manipulation is unlikely to work as she seems to vainly love herself before all things and seems to be an ancient inhuman entity.

Galaxy Level Threat:

The sequel to Huniepop so far has introduced us to the Nymphojin and while not much is known about them so far, they are one of the biggest upgrades I have ever seen to a verse.

The Nymphojin are stated to be two spirits of limitless lechery, two spiritual plane entities with infinite lust. They slumber deep within the endless sea of stars only to emerge to stir an era of death and destruction due to a "cosmic period of unspeakable PMS".

The two beings are noted for destroying entire galaxies in the PMS-driving rage and it is suggested they can travel galactic distances. The menstruation phase of the menstrual cycle for human women typically lasts 3 to 7 days and if you assume they cross a single galactic diameter in this time this would be speeds ranging from about 5.5 to 12.8 MILLION times the speed of light. It is more likely that their speeds are billions of times the speed of light.

According to the ancient tale only a hero of unparalleled prowess can overcome the insatiable lust of the demonic pair and return them to a satisfied slumber.

So MFTL (Millions to Billions of times) Galaxy Level Spiritual Entities with infinite lust. Ok.

Their only weaknesses to exploit seem to be highly sexually skilled entities that can return them to sleep, or more directly and honestly more boringly there is legit sleep manipulation since that is their usual state of being. Speaking of sleep manipulation that brings me to my first counter

Helios from Sailor Moon.

Helios' power was considered relevant to Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi-Moon which means it should be vastly above that of Pharaoh 90's who could move a galaxy at billions of times lightspeed. This suggests Helios should actually have the power and speed advantage over the Nymphojin.

Helios is only a mental plane being, existing in the world of dreams however he can use to some extent the stellar energy of the Golden Crystal. The stellar energy of the sailor crystals have been shown to affect spiritual entities. This means he should be able to affect the Nymphojin. The Golden Crystal has purification and healing abilities which may be able to purify and heal the Nymphojin of their Cosmic PMS.

Helios can also encase beings in crystal that put them in a deep sleep. Now the Nymphojin do seem to possibly be massive in size in which case they might not work but if they do turn out to be humanoid sized then Helios sleep manipulation should actually work.

It's also notable that Helios is noted to be quite attractive in-universe which means that the Nymphojin as spirits of endless lust might not try to kill him in a fight, at least right away.

The one threat is that Helios' condition is connected to that of the Earth so the if the Nymphojin accidentally or purposefully destroy the Earth then Helios will die. For a counter this may not be a problem for you could use

Eros from Greek Mythology

Eros is one of the Theoi, who are abstractions. He in particular is the embodiment of sexual/romantic love. As such he should be able to affect the Nymphojin while they wouild only be able to affect him by wiping out all romantic/sexual love in the universe which given their natures is something they would likely massively struggle with.

Eros as the concept of all sexual love, is likely a cosmically good lover and would be able to return them to dormancy. In terms of states Eros should scale to other minor gods who could create constellations and likely galactic as baby Heracles suckled from the breast of Hera and when he was pushed off the resultant milk becamse the Milky Way Galaxy. This means he could probably survive an attack or two from the Nymphojin, especially if they are distracted by his divine beauty. Even if that didn't work Eros could simply force them to love him via his divine power.

The only danger is if their lust is not ruled as sexual/romantic love by not being love at all. If that is the case I still think Eros would probably win but in a neutral universe, the Nymphojin accidentally destroying Earth would destroy all love in the universe and thus destroy Eros. For my ultimate counter I would suggest

Dark Schneider from Bastard!!

Dark Schneider in his form as Dark Knight Lucifer was able to destroy the galaxy with Fallen Uriel and move comparable to an attack which crossed the dark abyss at millions of times the speed of light before both of them powered up all their traits and attributes by 170 times twice over and as the Adam of Darkness Dark Schneider is far stronger then he used to be, meaning at worst he is far stronger then the Nymphojin and the same speed and possibly far stronger then that and far faster then them.

Because of his Eternal Atoms, Dark Schneider can not die unless every single physical, astral and spiritual atom of him is destroyed meaning if the Nymphojin tried to attack him not only would the attack likely not work because of Dispel Bounds and his durability but they are far more likely to create seperate hims that regenerate and duplicate him (which has happened befrore) then actually kill him. Dark Schneider also has Judas Pain which can destroy every physical, astral and spiritual atom of his opponent which would one-shot the Nymphojin.

Not that he would need too as it's likely that just fighting the two of them, Dark Schneider can send them into orgasmic bliss and send them back into dormancy as he did to Porno Diane. More boringly he does have spells that can send foes to sleep if he doesn't want to for some reason.

Dark Schneider is massively more versatile, massively more hax, can one-shot them, far more powerful, as fast or much faster and overall perfectly skilled in abusing their weaknesses.

And that's how to be OP in the Huniepop-verse.

  1. This is yet another unconventional yet totally welcome blog that worked pretty great!
This verse seems freaking crazy in a lot of ways, its kinda funny that the first tier is chalk fulla characters that are literally pointless to even bring up and you ended up only countering 3 characters, who in and of themselves arent that good but do cover eachothers weaknesses really well creating an intereesting vs challenge. I thought your point about not being attracted to women was a Amazing combo of Thematically appropropriate, Hilarious, and an amazing vs point! Touya was really on the nose effective as a counter here, and it only got better and better as it went!

    DEM UPGRADES THO!!!!!

Yeah ngl i dont think ive seen upgrades THIS Dramatic before, like holy shit! the speed calc via mistral cycle is a hilarious concept. all the counters were perfect but NOTHING beats the perfection of Dark Schneider! like this seems like you realized he would be an amazing counter first and made this whole blog from that idea, which ngl is how i end up choosing a lot of mine :P

Great Guide! i had a lotta fun with it!

  2. I don't think I expected to see a blog on this series, but boy am I glad I did! I've actually beaten the first Huniepop game from start to finish, including all the secret characters you mentioned in this blog. But being OP in this verse? I figured all you would need were some smooth moves ;)

More seriously though, it was impressive how thoroughly you were able to analyze these characters and their capabilities. There really wasn't much to go off of, so being able to make a strategy guide at all is quite a feat, let alone one this good. I figured Momo would be kind of useless, but look how well she covers Celeste's weaknesses! And vice versa, quite the pair. And getting around fairy magic at a level barely stronger than normal humans sounds like quite the sticky wicket too. I thought Touya was a very creative and appropriate counter, having just enough magic to get around all the hurdles the first tier presents while also having the physical skills and the natural ability to ignore womanly charms.

I really didn't expect to see The Lady from Little Nightmares here though, or in any of your blogs for that matter. Another game character I'm familiar with, she'd introduce quite the harsh genre change for Huniepop, with a kit versatile and powerful enough to enact a true reign of terror. She's possible my favorite counter in this whole blog.

And then wow, the way this series is jumping the shark in the sequel. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger leap in power either. I remember watching the trailer with the Nymphojin and thinking the whole time "okay, Kyu's about to say 'yeah right' and reveal this to be a joke" but NOPE! Played straight, we've got galaxy busting sex goddesses now. Seems like they're mostly big stat blocks with a couple interesting weaknesses. Very cool to see how you exploited them in thematically appropriate ways. Man, if Eros can't do a number on these ladies, Dark Schneider certainly can! Eternal Atoms are so OP, he'd stomp with those alone but I love that you also outlined how he could deal with every one of the Nymphojin's weaknesses.

Looks like you tied this one up neatly Imp! Analyzing and exploiting every weakness of this verse feels kind of like solving a puzzle, fitting for a blog on a puzzle game. With this blog you didn't just solve it, you laid the blueprints for anyone to break it wide open, good job!
